Nintendo games and buttons.

Nightbringer

Don´t hit me for my bad english plase
Can you say to me a Nintendo game that uses more buttons than the Revolution controller?

Remember that the Revolution controller has:

-Z1 and Z2 Lateral Butons.
-B Trigger
-A big button
-Button x
-Button y
-D-Pad

and tha GCN controller has:

-L and R Triggers
-Z Lateral Button
-A big Button
-Button B
-Button X
-Button Y
-D-Stick

Thanks.

It lacks an analog stick that freehand movements cannot make up for in some cases.

But the complete controller is the nunchaku controller that has an analog stick.
Then you won't be able to use the X&Y buttons while using that.

But then the Nunchuck has two triggers as well.
Exactly my point, while using that you only have acess to four buttons (a, b, z1, z2), not the six that were claimed in the OP.

The way the revmote controller works, mere movements can simulate buttons (ie: reload by getting the controller down in a FPS). Easy. Plenty. Classy.

Anyone else think holding the revmote like a NES pad will be uncomfortable due to the dip in the back for the B trigger?
Yeah, the NES pad sure was comfortable.

Man you stupid Nintendo fans don't know anything. Z1 and Z2 are the two triggers on the analog stick attachment. There are no Z1 and Z2 on the wand he's already counting them.

What? I thought the NES controller was comfortable, regardless if I was a kid, or have aged.

It IS square-y, but similar to the SNES controller.

Then again, the SNES controller's buttons were diagonal, and the edges were curved.

So original NES wasn't the most comfortable! I was suggesting the revmote looks uncomfortable in the NES position. From the looks of it, your right hand has enough 'thickness' underneath it, but the left hand will be crippled/cramped into the dent where B-trigger resides.

I see your point, but Nintendo usually puts a lot of thought into the ergonomics of their recent console outings, I doubt they would allow such a glaring oversight. Sure would love to touch it though :(

Where are these "x & y" buttons you speak of? I thought it only had A, B, Z1 & Z2.

Really I never felt it seriously lacked in buttons.

Buttons do not equal fun.

I think it will just make the developers be more creative. Of course that also means we will have people like EA who just butcher the controls.

A good developer should be able to use the new functions to make up for the (few) buttons it is missing.

When you use it nunchucku style the a and b buttons are about as convenient as black and white buttons maybe even less.

Yeah hopefully not many games will use those two. I really don't think Nintendo meant for them to be. Why have two a buttons if that were so.

Most games will prolly use the d-pad for secondary fuctions like picking items, etc.

Yeah but most games didn't really need to use them. Complexity in games is a design issue not a button issue. Still the 360 controller is almost perfect unless the Revmote somehow 1ups it. Regardless you need the right hardware for the game, fighters are still better on arcade sticks, gun games are still better with guns, etc. For some games the Revmote will improve the experience but for some it'll have the reverse effect unless the classic shell is standard.

In the Videos (and a reflection on one Highres picture), the lower a&b Buttons had x&y on them instead.
