Id also like to add that almost everything I say in relation to Nintendo fans on this forum isnt out of belief or honest opinion. I dont have any passion for making you guys come in here and make yourselves miserable. Its not about teaching you a lesson.

In fact id almost say, that being around as long as I have, its pure reflex. its as if I feel this forum requires I participate in this kind of shit. Yeah, I find it kind of funny, but its clearly not meaningful beyond a smirk and a elbow to people in #ga.

That is, more or less, a completely ridiculous statement. People are allowed to be excited for something. It doesn't make it a "religion" or "faith" based. After all, we've SEEN the controller, we've SEEN the system, we KNOW what both will do. No leap of faith there.

to their credit they DO talk about things they like. MAF's devotion to Megaman Zero has convinced me to get one or two of the games to enjoy on my newly purchased GBmicro for example.

It's a shame they feel the need to tag-team the forum as a display of camaraderie bum tapping though.

So, this online store has tremendous potential. Any third party that released software on pretty much any platform should be able to port their games over rather easily to the Revolution. The only content they wouldn't be able to get would be any first party titles from Sony and Microsoft. This would create a HUGE library of games! Never played Einhander back when it was on PS1? No problem, download it for $8 and play one of the best shooters out there. Nintendo gets $2, Squaresoft gets $6, and everyone's happy.

Now, how exactly are logical people supposed to argue against this?

I think such potential could only be realized in the most wild and untamed of fantasy lands, but what replies are in store for anyone who says this?

Oh really? where are the PS3 games? What do we have so far, a faked Killzone demo that was sped up? A MGS4 cutscene with no signs of what the gameplay is like? Ditto for DMC4 and RE5. Please. I'm looking forward to the PS3 too but that's only because I know MGS4, RE5 and GTA4 will be on it yet I haven't seen a single video of the games in action, in fact I haven't seen a screen of GTA4 yet.

You know what to expect with these games. That's why. You know that regardless of the graphics, you'll enjoy them because you liked their successors. How is this different from the Revolution? Metroid Prime 3 will be on the Rev, so will Zelda, so will Mario. MP2 was tweaked to use the rev controller and people are saying its more natural than using the kb/m. What does that tell you? If you think Zelda will suck on the rev because you'll be running around and swinging a revolution controller around for hours, than you're shallow minded, plain and simple.

You'll run around like you would in a normal game, this won't be any different. The only times you may have to swing the controller around is during a battle. It's not like you're fighting the whole time. So why not just press "A" to fight? Because there's more interaction and skill involved. You guys mocked Nintendo for years with those "press A to win" controllers and now that they offer a more interactive alternative that is being praised by 95% of the media/devs, you're against it. You'll always find things to hate about Nintendo, it's that simple. GTA 4 could have been a rev exclusive and you'd still hate it despite liking the ps2/psp versions.

I'm hoping every fighting/sword/boxing game comes with a 'normal mode' and a 'hardcore mode'. Normal mode will be for people who don't want to move around too much. Hardcore mode will be for people who want to bounce around the room! For example. In PunchOut! you'll be able to throw punches and dodge with small wrist movements and buttons in 'normal mode'. In 'hardcore mode', you have to put a controller in each hand to act as left & right arm, then you have to shadowbox wildly with the screen, making up your own punching combos and dodge blows by jumping back/left/right/ducking, all in real-time.

I didn't think Nintendo really stood out with GCN this generation. SMS wasn't all that great, and although Wind Waker was a work of art, the gameplay really stunk, but I do think Twilight Princess could be the best game ever made. I will give credit with their newest IP, Pikmin 1+2. Great games.


I just think Nintendo is creatively bankrupt. Who's to say you can't create innovating games with better graphics? Instead, they turn around a create a controller that a toddler can use.

Pretty much how I feel. The controller does have tons of potential to do other cool things, but I really have a difficult time imagining what they can do to games like Mario (especially Mario) and Zelda without making it seem like a gimmick.
