He's a pretty swell guy in my books anyway.

Thank you, I asked someone to get this for me since i can't access the press site any more. It should also be noted that the US sales are through the end of January while the worldwide shipments are through the end of Decemeber.

EDIT: This also proves that the US DS sales that were posted by that newspaper were wrong while we were right. :)

So GameCube should break 11 Million this month in the US.

I wonder where it'll finish off. 13 Million?
Maybe if they had a price drop, it sold less than 1.7 million for all of last year.

What always confuses me is that they use sell through rates for the USA but shipments for the world.
And it's good to know that we now more or less officially know that the DS hardware sales for 2005 were ~2.59m.

We already KNEW that, no matter what other people tried to tell us. :D

It's interesting to note what Nintendo has said they've shipped to North America for each of them through the end of December (GCN 12 million, GBA 37.55 million, DS 4.63 million) compared to what NPD says they've sold in the US through the end of January.

Wow, hard to believe the Gamecube's going to end up even worse than the N64 as far as hardware sales go (the N64 topped off at roughly 35 million units).

Yeah, of course we knew, but ... uhm ... some people tried to explain the difference with different roundings and sth. like that :D

What were other people saying?

What are NPD's LTD hardware numbers?

No Micro?
The Micro is included with the GBA number. Nintendo has only shipped 470K of them to all of North America (1.82 million worldwide) as of the end of December so it's not like it would be big any way.

I wonder if the GB micro will ever actually sell a million units in any one region. Japan looks unlikely and we have no US figures.

I don't think it will unless Nintendo wanted to sell it for a lot less than they do now (which isn't very likely).

I thought it would have been possible in Japan, but then sales fell below the SP before the holidays, nevermind the possible release of SP+. I think it'll top out at 800K or so. Maybe a price drop will prove me wrong.

So with what we know now, if those sales are as of end of December (worldwide) what’s the DS at now total?
Those are shipments as of the end of December, only the US numbers are sales (as of the end of January).

I think the micro will top 1 Million in Europe, it is at 780k as of December 05:

780K shipped isn't just for Europe, it's everywhere outside Japan and North America.
