I mean judging by this it's hard to be optimistic about Nintendos third party games.

Probably all the announcement related to Switch 2 versions are going to be made on a Nintendo partner showcase, Not in a Geoff show.
Why would that be the case when it hardly ever happened in the Switch era?
Its now confirmed that Microsoft will not be a supporter of the Switch 2. Their focus is on the Xbox ROG handheld as well as Playstation ports. This means that yet another big publisher is removed as a possible supporter of Switch 2.

Nintendo first party games just became even more important for Switch 2 success.
How is it now confirmed?

Maybe I'm confused, because your information is basically always correct, but every significant third party Switch port that I can think of was announced during either a Nintendo Direct or Partner Showcase.

Now, granted almost every third party port arrived later on Switch than on other platforms, but I would expect that to be the case with the Switch 2 as well, at least for the first year or two.

All the big third party Switch 1 titles always were announced on a Nintendo Direct…
Other third party games might get announced for Switch 2, but you said "Switch 2 versions", so I thought you meant versions of the games announced last week.

Multiplat games coming to Switch were indeed announced at Directs. But there's very very few examples of games which were announced as PC/PS/XB and then also came to Switch Day 1. Usually they came as ports or not at all.

Do they really? As far as we know, the Switch 2 selling really well. Mario Kart World reviewed really well. All the games that got announced during not-E3 are either uninteresting or are relatively far out. And as of right now, there isn't any big first-party title by Microsoft or Sony to "take away the thunder".

That being said, I can see a direct happening a short while after Bananza. Giving Metroid Prime 4 a release date and maybe teasing a title for the holidays.

Oh yeah, absolutely. If we do start getting Day One releases that aren't indie titles, we'll be in uncharted territory. Only time will tell how those announcements will be handled.
