The european price includes VAT which is way higher than the usual US sales tax. E.g.: In Germany VAT is 16%, so the price is really 85.34€ without tax or about $105. AFAIK some EU states got VAT as high as 22%.

I'm pretty sure it will be $99 in the US. PSP is 250€ in Europe and $250 in the US, DS, Xbox and PS2 are 150€ in Europe and $150 in the US.

Yeah, it is 16% also here (Spain). PSP case...we'll pay 250€ while its 180€ in japan...if you add 16% its less than 30€ more but we'll pay 70€ more. The same happens with games and such. I know Europe has other arancels and such, but I still feel they treat us like nerds.

Anyway, I don't mind what Sony,Microsoft,Nintendo or Europe gets of every console, I am the one who will have to pay more than usa/japan.

€99 isn't as bad as I initially thought... £69

With GBA SP and GBA no doubt lowering as a result, there's a whole tier system of GBA products. They need to announce what they're doing with Play Yan.

Found this on GameFront, and I don't know if it's been mentioned yet. According to this, Ubisoft confirmed that they're supporting the Revolution.

well atleast that's something

Anybody quoted that already from gamefront.de?

Ubisoft unterstützt Revolution

17.08.05 - Ubisoft hat auf der Games Convention bestätigt, dass Ubisoft Nintendos Revolution-Konsole mit Spielen unterstützen wird.

Rough translation:

'Ubisoft supports Revolution

Ubisoft has confirmed support of Nintendo Revolution with games at games convention.'

Edit: Too late :(

If production has actually started perhaps a Revolution dev kit, or enhancement for the GC kits are getting out there.

Its high time for some Revolution news. There'll definately be some good stuff in the next month about it..

Wait, Nintendo hyped up the GC? Huh?

This isn't TGS. This isn't GDC. This isn't E3. This isn't a show where a LOT of major announcements happen and new information is to be expected. This is a game conference in germany which is used primarily to show off games that have already been announced and shown at other events like E3.

The only people to blame for Nintendo letting them down are the people who let themselves get hyped up over a relatively small conference despite the warnings of several major gaming publications which said there wouldn't be anything big shown. :lol

I'm not sure how people got any such expectation in the first place. My first post in this thread indicated what would probably happen, and it was right pretty much.

The trouble started when people babblefished something about Revolution.

Matt says there may be some kind of tidbit in the coming week, so that should be interesting. TGS isn't far away, I'm starting to feel confident that that's gonna be the big reveal.

Isn't TGS in about a month, though? Middle of September, right?

That's way too long.

Doesn't Iwata have a keynote at TGS this year? Maybe they're going to reveal some info on revolution in a week and unveil the rest during TGS?

And they probably won't get banned for it because it's a nintendo thread. ;)

People fantasized about the GameBoy Micro going for $50 and now they whine about it going for $99. The $99 price tag was totally expected, it's the very same price I said when they announced it at E3.

The GameBoy Micro is alot smaller than the GameBoy Advance SP, it has a better screen with backlight (instead of a frontlight like on the SP) so people expecting it to be cheaper than the SP is just downright unreasonable. The Micro is made to attract new customers, and I easily think it will sell an additional million units of the gameboy advance brand. What's so strange about updating a piece of hardware to attract new customers? Cellphone manufacturers do it every other week.

You don't want one? Fine, it's not for you. Think it's too expensive? Get an SP instead. But don't expect Nintendo to update somethng and then give it away.

The GB Micro exist for making money that could save Nintendo in the case of failure of Revolution and/or Nintendo DS.

The components are now smaller, the screen is smaller and the GB retrocompatibility is gone, with all this the cost Nintendo is going to make more money for every GBA sold than before.

Nope >_< and I'm suppossed to know damnit!!

Still no words as to when you'll be seeing a devkit?

Have you guys even greenlit any projects, basing them on "GC Architecture"? haha

Did I miss something? Why do you think, they could reveal something about the revolution during the TGS? I thought Nintendo would not participate there, only Iwata with his speech. Am I wrong?

bwahahaha... Nintendo never fail not to deliver...

And despite this GAF always has astronomically high expectations!

Well I'm not sure there were many people with high expectations of Nintendo here, but the reason GAF often does is that Nintendo do deliver...every so often. They delivered when they revealed the GC with that awesome montage of games, they delivered when we had an E3 with Metroid, Zelda and Mario all playable, and they delivered at last year's E3 with Reggie and Zelda and the DS etc.

So everyone thinks "Oooh this could be one of those times!"...and then it isn't. But sometimes, it is!

Don't you have a GCN devkit? Just slap a turbo sticker on it.

Can't believe how a little comment like that can follow me around. News just in, the dev kits have arrived:

Haha, perfect.

Racing turbo engine.

I get it... good one.

To answer (or not) a few questions

-Can't say of whom I work for, sorry (it's REALLY not that exciting anyway)
-Nintendo have been talking with us almost every week about getting a project started for them, they're very enthusiastic but exceedingly unhelpful when it comes to technical details.
-I'm aware that 'Gamecube Turbo' has been used before :D

I'm only working here for another 4 weeks (before I move to Japan) and the best leaving present I can think of would be a Rev. dev kit... you hear me NIntendo??? Send it now damn you!

Wait marvel, I thought you already said who you worked for in a previous thread?
At least, hinted about it enough where it was obvious?
But I won't share if you didn't want it getting out :)

Well, at least it is good to hear that Nintendo is being "very enthusiastic" with third parties, better than the old days?

Almost

Someone mentioned that it was written in my profile (which has since been updated) but I'm sure the 3000 people who read that thread (inc you) know who I work for ;)
