Nintendo Store in Redmond

So does anybody know about the Nintendo Store at their HQ in Redmond? Is it open to the public, or just for employees? I'm going to be in Seattle in two weeks and I know where their HQ is, so I was just wondering if I can go there and check it out.

Thanks.

They have a little customer center downstairs where you can get your systems repaired, but the real shop (complete with awesome discounts) is reserved for employees only. It's upstairs, and has a sweet Nintendo museum right next to it.

There's is some classic Nintendo stuff on display in the customer center. I remember an old Famicom, and some Nintendo playing cards/other old goodies.

They have everything!! I got a handful of DS games for 18$ each, and they have tons of exclusive Nintendo labeled shirts and notebooks, toys, etc.

Darn it, _that_ must be the shop/museum I saw in shots and what I was looking for. I was disappointed to find the tiny service center lobby instead (which did have a minor amount of shopping, such as a few T-shirts, an English version of Pokémon Box for the GCN, cards and some other collectables), but the woman who came out to greet and help us was very friendly, and passed off several store displays and banners. So if you're in the area, even if you can't get to the employee shop, it's still worth stopping in to the service center lobby and doing some browsing.

No, crystal pepsi

I thought I was the only one who liked crystal pepsi! But while crystal pepsi is fantastic, Mario Soda was an explosion of goodness in the mouth that nothing could ever top.

Damn straight. I remember taking one of those to school everyday. :lol Damn that stuff was good. Brings back some good memories. I had pretty much forgotten about these. There used to be all kind of Mario branded food stuffs. Cereal, soda, those gummy things, all kinds of candy.

I found an old picture of me when I was 6 or so with a crystal pepsi on the table and a Nintendo controller in my hands.

I had a pretty awesome childhood.

Fun & Games is what you're probably thinking of, and it's a great place, especially for people who have never been there before. In addition to steeply discounted games (around $35-$37 for $50 titles), there's lots of Nintendo swag like shirts, pens, candy, and other doodads that can't be found elsewhere. Employees can also borrow games from here, and take them back to their work areas to play during downtime. I see someone's already mentioned the museum/display area immediately outside, which has a lot of playable kiosks in addition to the ones in the display cases. Right next to the museum area is a merchandising section, where various retailer Nintendo setups are laid out. The customer service center downstairs is only a fraction of the coolness that's upstairs, but it becomes old hat walking past it everyday. :)

If you want to know more about the Fun & Games store, send me a PM.

Also, I have an unopened can of Luigi Berry soda. Preserving the goodness.

You don't by any chance know people that work in the call center, do you? I met a guy while working there and lost contact with him after I left. He was rad.

Darn it, that's exactly it, and what I remember seeing in other shots. I know special visitors like PlanetGamecube and Penny Arcade have been allowed in there before, but I'd thought beforehand that's what the public shop was, not that it was an invitation/employee-only thing.

All well, I still got some nice goods and bonuses even from just the Service Repair shop area, so I don't feel bad. But I couldn't figure out what I'd seen beforehand if that wasn't the "actual" shop Nintendo had.

When I was there it was only a $10-$15 discount on games, far from awesome. The original famicom display was the only thing that interested me. Everything else is not too different than what you would see at your Bestbuy.

1 & 2 in sync: "It's Peach!" : "It's Cherry!"
1: No, you're right, it's peach.
2: No no, you're right, it's cherry.
1: No you were so right! It's peach!
2: Cherry!
1: Peach!

IT'S BOTH.

Also... Luigi Berry :lol
