Nintendo Switch Online Updated with 3 more titles 7/15

Will never understand why they drip feed content so painfully slow. DKC is a welcome addition though

This is pathetic, and makes me long for the traditional VC so badly. I am done with Nintendo's drip feed, and just using my SNES classic to play everything I want. They don't want to sell me shit, fine, I'll emulate it, fuck em.

For some reason my brain always associates The Immortal with that old game show for kids Video Power. Was that a common reward on that show or something? I just remember like everyone winning it lol

Oof, The Immortal. I remember as a kid being amazed by the screenshots in Nintendo Power, and then absolutely hating it when I got to play it.

While I appreciate the Netflix library of 30 year old Nintendo games, the drip feed has hardly been dripping lately which makes this feel even more underwhelming.

I kinda hate that Virtual Console died for this.

Finally! Natsume Championship Wresting. I've been telling people for years it's the best 16 bit wresting game, now y'all gonn see for yourselves!

I don't condone piracy whatsoever, but the entire SNES and NES libraries can be downloaded within SECONDS, and yet Nintendo chooses to give out 2 SNES and 1 NES games once every 3-4 months. I love the fact that DKC is here, and I'm happy for people who love the service, but this program has been an unfortunate disaster to me. I forgot they were even installed on my console to be honest.

I genuinely don't know why they're bothering.

Surely this way of releasing them nets close to zero new subscribers, while just having a virtual console to buy the games directly would at least give a little profit.

It made sense for me with the Wii. Back when I thought this digital library would persist for decades. But the moment they hit the restart button with Wii U, then again with Switch, I started to agree. If you're going to hit the restart button with every new console then stop drip feeding, it's just stupid.

I havent played DKC in a decade. Guess its time to pick it back up!

I agree with most of you guys, they have the power to put a ton of NES, SNES and newer games on the Switch, but they want to have a steady stream of content. The drip is there to bring players back time and time again to the Switch between 1st party game drops. Its a decent idea marketing wise, but they could drop a few more at a time.

Beggars cant be choosers I guess.

I seriously wish people would shut the hell up about VC. Virtual console did not die for this. Virtual console just isn't a thing, and any of the classic titles you're missing could already be for sale if the publishers wanted to sell them again, unless you're really expecting Nintendo to approach the publishers yet again to license the old games for the shop. It's really up to the publishers now, at least.

DKC omg

I will never forget the early September 1994 day when DHL delivered the first and final DKC EEPROM board to Club Nintendo. We had been watching and rewatching the CES VHS tape, and finally we had the game at our hands. The only hickup was that I had earned detention in school so the moment the parcel arrived I had to cycle from the office to the school to stare the wall for two hours.
