I'm guessing it'll be like those Treehouse Live presentations. Hopefully we'll still have a Direct before then to show the 3DS and Wii U stuff coming out soon.

It seems like it will be more like a traditional conference. Maybe a Treehouse Live afterwards for NOA? I'd be a little surprised if they flew Reggie, Bill, and the Treehouse to Tokyo for it, but it'd be awesome if they did.

Since we know it'll be in Toyo, is there a general time Japan-centric Directs go live? I assume they'll pick a time NOA, NOE and Japan wil all be awake though.

Not going to happen. We actually had a meeting at work today discussing another product yet to be released and we were we discussing forecasting going forward with reduced timetables. I used Nintendo's Switch as the example, I knew they would give a short lead till release and really there's no reason not to. The idea of "6 - 12 months of marketing" before release is going to become extinct (already has for the most part).
