Oh great. More Giant Bomb.

And Chobot.

I can't believe these reviewers aren't treating Nintendo's new system with the utmost seriousness. And they call themselves journalists.

Am I the only one who would have never tasted the cartridge before learning it had horrible stuff to discourage you tasting it on it, but now really wants to?

Always amazing to see the Giant Bomb haters come out of the woodworks. I don't think I could ever relate to someone who dislikes their antics.

It's usually people who disagree with a poor review score they gave on a game they liked. Idk how someone could actively dislike them.

I think they did this to add an interesting hook to 1-2 Switch. Loser licks a cartridge.

Or games media is punking us.

More anti-Nintendo propaganda. More "so-called" "journalists" making up flaws in the Switch that don't exist. I've eaten my way through at least 8.8 Switch cartridges and yeah, they don't taste great, but it's no where near as bad as the Sony fanboys say it is.

OT:
Why would you even do this? Not sure if making the cartridges taste bad is genius or just dumb, don't think taste is the main reason for small children putting things in their mouth.

Heat isn't the main reason children touch the stove either, but if they get hurt the first time they don't do it a second.
In theory. In practice kids are fucking stupid.

Maybe it will keep my daughter from eating a cart if I leave it out, so that's a plus
Almost makes me wonder if they intentionally added a bitterant

It is absolutely bizarre the details Nintendo forgets, all the while managing to incorporate stuff like this.

I suppose when you run the risk of being sued every day - for just about everything that people can fault you/your product for - these things come almost like no-brainers after a while. Kinda sad that they have to go to these lenghts, but I guess it's a neat touch, given the times we are living in.

If people can't handle this without getting angry they're going to have a very bad time if the Nintendownload X-Press podcast ever comes back.

We just tried tasting Zelda. There's definitely some sort of coasting on the games to give them a bitter taste, no doubt to help prevent kids from trying to eat them.

Well compared to things that they obviously don't want to talk about yet, they would be quick to respond before the "Nintendo is putting out toxic carts!" headlines were able to get rolling. It also allows them to toot their own horn for thinking about that sort of thing ahead of time.
