As sure as people licked Switch game cards because Nintendo made them icky, you can sure as shit believe people will peel that layer off just because Nintendo said not to do it.

Assuming Switch 2 will be similar

How do you even accidentally remove this? If it would be something I can easily remove with my fingernail, I would definitely rip it off of course, but this? Nah. Them releasing this advice makes it more confusing, not less.

Ah.....no, not the same thing I've seen before at all. I could pull it up with my fingernail. If this is what you were talking about Seomel Seomel then I get it now.
This is what it is. Its specisl layer to protect as described in case screen cracks so shards dont go anywhere in 1000 pieces. As you see its not something person should even notice or be able to take off. You can and still should use tempered glass on top of it

This should be a note with a big warning sign attached inside the box, not some yt video or just another page of the user's manual. It's perfectly understandable if someone doesn't follow current screen layer trends and the natural reaction would be to peel it off before using the device.

Remember, we live in the times when people have to be reminded to open the box (and then throw it out) before starting to eat pizza. ;)

Yeah, this isn't a screen protector. People shouldn't be tweaker picking at it. Just buy a 4pk of tempered glass protectors with an alignment frame for $8, slap one on there, and call it a day.
