Nintendo is aligning its "right to repair" policy with the Nintendo Switch 2 game console to reduce its environmental impact. I always thought it was hilarious how people are against digital games because the online stores will be taken down somewhere in the future.

It won't be a swappable battery like it used to be in the fist couple of years when smartphones came to the market. You will still need to disassemble your console to replace the battery, it just won't be deadly-glued to the console body.

Given that a Switch will not work with a dead battery even if plugged into a wall, it pisses me off we're here to begin with. There's a good chance S2 is my last Nintendo hardware, but my SNES/N64 are still going to last longer.

I always buy day 1. Never had an issue. Day 1 PS5 Pro, day 1 PS5, Day 1 XSX, Day 1 Switch 2, day 1 gpus.

If I tried to wait for this in the US I've be waiting years lol.

I'll just buy a Switch 2 OLED when it comes out since I was always planning on replacing this one when the new version came out.

The consoles are so cheap relatively I could buy 3-4 of them for the price of a nice gaming PC. Plus you can always sell the old device.

I just don't want to wait years to save 300 bucks. This has the same energy as "wait until the next cpu/gpu comes out before building your PC." I mean I get the logic but in reality you are wasting your time in exchange for a usually very small sum of money. My launch Switch still runs great actually and I have 2 Switch 1s. By the time the battery dies you will long be on to new systems....I have never seen a forum for dead Switch 1s or dead cell phones with no replaceable battery. They last a long time. You get your moneys worth.

The exception was PS360. My launch 360 and launch PS3 both were dead within 3 years lol.

Great, I've been waiting for this. If I ever get a Switch 2, it's going to be the one with a replacable battery since I could use it as long as its batteries are being made. If they are not oficially made anymore, Aliexpress has me covered.

Is the switch 1 battery not replaceable in EU switches? Its a simple molex connector in the US/Asia ones.
