This brings up something I am confused about despite reading the books. What is the ruling on succession for bastard born children? Up until now I had assumed that it was first to legitimate sons, then to legitimate daughters, then to siblings, then to uncles and aunts. Wasn't the point of getting rid of the bastard children of Robert just to remove suspicion about Joffrey not being Robert's son?

We have no idea what the brotherhood is. Gregor is the Mountain. He was there at Harrenhold and the other brother is the Hound. Nobody is looking for them, they're just joking about their names. The Mountain, The Hound, obviously they are the The Brotherhood
About? That was all revealed in season 1.Gendry

This show's nude scenes just get more and more uncomfortable.
yes. His entire demeanor is different, in addition to his face
What happened to the forces that were supposed to kill him in Season 1?
I must have missed something, there were people sent to kill Gregor Clegane?
In season 1, when Robert went of to hunt and left Ned in charge, he has an audience with some riverland peasants who said that Gregor was pillaging their villages. We saw earlier that Tywin sent Gregor to do that as revenge due to Catelyn capturing Tyrion.
After Ned hears the peasants' cries for help, he commands Berric Dondarion to go and bring the king's justice to Gregor.
(referencing The Hound and The Mountain)?
Anyone notice how Renly looks like Rody Walker from Protest the Hero?
Renly:
Rody Walker:
Good episode but I kinda wish it would pick up the pace a bit. So much build up and deception but very little seeing the outcomes and consequences.
And what was up with Joffrey: is he into S&M or something? Or is he just trying to send a message to Tyrion?
They wimped out on showing the actual battle again. We just saw the aftermath with the wounded etc.
Budget constraints, I assume.
The sister of mercy-type woman who amputated the foot was hot. Real hot. Too good for Rob.
I think that he is officialy being labeled a psychopath at this point. He's a cowardly sadist who wanted to communicate his displeasure at being emasculated in front of everyone by Tyrion.
They are saving their best for first and last episodes. I was impressed by the scale of the battlefield.Yep, we're not gonna see any big battlefield action. Expect at best small fights like what happened last week with Yoren. Maybe we'll have a CG of that shadow warrior jumping on someone but that's it.
Personally, I came in expecting the usual medieval warfare -- had no idea about anything except it was a medieval fantasy -- but now I'm very satisfied just watching the drama and plotting.
There's so much, though, 10 episodes a year is torture. This show will be at its best when all seasons are watched back to back (assuming it doesn't go downhill along the way).
Gendry doesn't have a claim to the throne. Jon's story arc makes it clear that bastards don't get shit (conversation between Jon and Tyrion) and have a huge stigma surrounding them. Furthermore, Ned in season 1 says that the next in line is Stannis, and then Renly. He doesn't mention any of Robert's bastards.
I remember that, but how come in the Lannister prison camps they keep asking the prisoners if they know where "The Brotherhood" is (referencing The Hound and The Mountain)?
Either Berric Dondarion is dead or he was ordered to back off by the Lannisters when the throne was handed over. It doesn't make sense for the interrogator in the Lannister prison camp to ask everybody if they know where Clegane is (there is no reason for him to hide from the Lannisters).
Medic girl is sooo hot.
We don't know who "the Brotherhood" is.

the bucket and rat technique (where have I seen this before?).
The brotherhood?
Undertaker would fit right in on Game of Thrones.

Hahaha, holy crap Sandor and Gregor Clegane actually quite a few things in common with Kane and Undertaker.
well, hopefully they then get rid of Sansa because damn that girl is so annoying. At least Arya turned out alright.
This is what i get out of it. They are merely circumstantial evidence to the notion that Robert could not father blond kids. You disprove that by only having his blonde kids live.I think the issue with the bastards and killing them is that it's apparent that all of Robert's offspring have similar traits as him (black hair and blue eyes) as where Joffrey/Myrcella/Tommen are all blond. So you're right in that it's not a claim to legitimacy for the throne for the bastards, but a claim to illegitimacy for the throne regarding Cersei's children, in my opinion.
I personally think that Tyrion think Joffrey is crazy. I don't think it donned on him that he would injure his future wife and was really trying to find a way to release some tof that pent up energy.I wonder whether Tyrion was hoping Joffrey would be intimidated by the women in his room, almost as a punishment for his treatment of Sansa. Turns out he is more interested in torture and power than sex - he is truly evil. I enjoy watching Tyrion twist his arm though so I dont want Joff to go anywhere soon, as much as I hate him.
Did they imply in the show that Joffrey is impotent (or infertile) or did I hear things?
Wrong, he looks like professional Starcraft 2 player Steven "Destiny" Bonnell III
