Hell yes this is nice!
Yeah that was the rule at my YMCA, which basically meant you would just wear your mask entering and leaving the gym area, no-one was putting it back in between sets or changing equipment. My gym was stupid.
When you entered or walked around you needed to have it on, but as soon as you actually went to lift or cardio you disn't need it.
Now, it's optional and now no one wears one, lmao.
Now if only I could work up the muster to go to the gym

It absolutely isn't.Wait, people were working out with a mask on?
That doesn't sound healthy.
We've had to wear masks at gyms where I live since February last year. It's not ideal but unless you're doing a really crazy workout it's not that bad.Wait, people were working out with a mask on?

People do strenuous exercise with masks on all the time, doubt there are any real health implications. Its just gotta be uncomfortable and gross.Wait, people were working out with a mask on?

I mean we had to here in new york. Fucking cuomoWait, people were working out with a mask on?

Does anyone remember like right before covid was a thing, there were a bunch of companies selling workout masks that reduce oxygen. I kept seeing it everywhere on Instagram and social media. I think the theory was that if you simulate high altitude (low oxygen) your body produces more hemoglobin or something.Wore a mask most of the year doing hard cardio. I was not going to give up my workouts. At first it was terrible, but I think that because I forced my body to work harder with less oxygen, it ended up improving my cardio overall. I'll be interested to see how much my performance has improved without it.
FYI - I live in the shit hole state of NJ where they still haven't even lifted the indoor mandate. It will be lifted this weekend.
All it does is emulate altitude training. It's not like it will kill you. Might even help with cardio.Imagine thinking that restricting your airflow during exercise is a good healthy thing.
Egging people on to come pick a fight is not cute. It makes you look like an asshole honestly. I deal with many like you on a daily basis at my gym(I work at one.), and its the same I can't breathe. my rights crap. Its tiring and annoying. I've heard it all.30 replies and not a single mask karen in here trying to defend wearing a mask or talk us into continuing to wear one.
Fascinating to me how fast the lockdown apologists have gone quiet.
athletes use oxygen deprivation masks all the time or train at high altitudes, specifically to promote the formation of red blood cells and improving your cardioImagine thinking that restricting your airflow during exercise is a good healthy thing.

There we go! Not really picking a fight as genuinely wondering where you guys went. Thank you for not disappointing.Egging people on to come pick a fight is not cute. Working at the gym I am required to wear my mask the entire shift and our members were required to wear theirs 100% of the time they were in the building, and sanitizing because people refuse to wipe down machines or because they cough all over shit and its disgusting. Second off it was state mandated about mask, and now that its changed we get a lot of shit from members about it, but I have to follow corporate guidelines and believe me, that becomes a headache fighting daily with those who feel they are overly righteous people who try to make an example to stick it to us staff. Reality is we threaten to cancel your membership and you shut up. It's pretty grand. I have cancelled countless memberships over members being rude and disrespectful. I have to follow the rules or I lose my job. Don't make it harder on us then it has to be.
Now when I go to workout(i workout at a different facility and their rules are different)...I still wear my mask at the gym. I mean theres no sense arguing with people who have a one way opinion on the subject. Secondly my gym has been strictly "wear your mask when you workout, you can remove it during cardio only" so it wasn't a big deal honestly. Like I said, I wear mine for the whole 2 hours i'm there, doing weights, and an hour of cardio.
Does it suck? Yes. Am I gonna bitch about it? No because I am grateful my gym has been opened since June of last year. Its like wearing a seatbelt when I drive or using protection if i'm going to have sex. Regardless of how you choose to be closeminded and view it, you do whatever you can to protect yourself.. and for myself, I chose to do so because I have many family members who have health issues, an elderly grandma and I won't risk them for being lazy.
and I am vaccinated so technically I don't need to wear the "stupid mask" but again, protection is key.
Hey, do you think now that the covidpocalypse is over can I become the 13th goblin?freedom fighters such as yourself stopped the global order takeover, well done. It's over.

How the hell could you workout wearing a mask without passing out?
I never had to where a mask in the gym, just go made with wipes and hand sanitizer.Hell yes this is nice!
How far shall we take it? If it's an "improvement" then perhaps we just always wear masks and create super lungs?athletes use oxygen deprivation masks all the time or train at high altitudes, specifically to promote the formation of red blood cells and improving your cardio
