No Man's Sky DLSS Support Coming Soon!

DLSS is always welcome....Just didn't think this was a game that really required it considering that DLSS is at a minimum on a 20xx series card to begin with with which run this game very well. Though again, performance is performance so more the merrier. Can't argue for the price:

Nice. Glad to see the continued support they are giving this game.

Its needed for playing the game at 120hz or 4k with consistent frame rates. And VR. how well does DLSS work in VR?

It's a nice boost for lower-end GPUs with DLSS support but sadly it can't do anything for NMS' real performance issues which are I/O related. There's unfortunately nothing that can be done about the streaming stutters that are ever present in the game unless they decide to re-write whatever code they need to in order to fix it.

Actually got into the game a few weeks ago for the first time, it's not bad as a podcast game but the UI is awful & the stutters are definitely annoying. Can't imagine playing it in VR like that tho, it's a fast train to barf mode.

I played it in VR early'ish last year and never had any stuttering or hitching. Its a pretty good VR game.

I used a rift s but here's someone using an index which should be a bit heavier to run

AFAIK this is the first VR enabled game with DLSS support.
There were 3 other ones. Into the Radius, War Thunder and a small Indie game where I can't remember the name XD

edit: oh yeah the name was Wakamarina Valley, New Zealand. How could I forget that? :messenger_smirking:

Whats your system specs?
Maybe it only those who use Oculus Link affected by very bad performance.
I have 8700K@4.5, 2070S, 32Gb. and performace is awful. From CPU side game runs like 4 years ago - constantly stuttering. Interesting thing that no one mention that a game runs out of VRAM very quickly and that on lowest settings. On a monitor my game runs almost flawless.

You might have not noticed it but it was there. Easy enough to test, just run capframex and record the 0.1% and lower, and go from planetside into outer space, when you exit atmosphere and get into space there's ALWAYS a stutter that's streaming related.

Unfortunately vram doesn't help if the game isn't made to take advantage of it, which is almost always the case, and also the case here (I got 16 GB vram..).

I wonder when the update goes live? This video uses the card I have, the 2060 Super. That's an amazing uplift in performance which is badly needed in VR mode.
