No Man's Sky - Frontiers Trailer

Eh. If you think it's boring it's likely just not for you.

Its obvious that millions of people play and enjoy the game thoroughly as it is, and thus why they keep updating it.

I personally haven't bought the game because I know it's not for me, as much as I get excited at every update and amazed with how the game has expanded.

But deep down, I know. If I buy it, I'll likely play it for a few hours and drop it lmao.

Ehhh...

It seems to have a Sea of Thieves kind of impact.

Players buy it/engage with it during big updates, but the player base plummets soon after. "It's obvious that millions of people play and enjoy the game thoroughly as."

It settles to around 5k concurrent players on Steam. The PlayStation and XBox user base is probably similar/smaller.

Makes me wonder how many active users this game even has at this point and if they've even made money out of it.

Currently enjoying one of it's biggest bumps due to the update, but still only managed #38 rank on Steam. It's not even in the top 50 on XBL charts...

Mediocre game that's marketed beautifully.

Just got back into this. Next-gen graphics are amazing. Still feels, after five years, like it has unrealized potential. It's all about gameplay loops, interlocking circles, none deep but varied enough to be good in small doses - the vibe is very mellow and kind of new-age, like Brian Eno should do the soundtrack. Needs "more" - more systems, and deep ones, without being overwhelming or boring. Settlements are a good start, but.. could have more depth. Businesses, hotels, tourism, running your own manufacturing plants, more diverse space stations, more independent settlements, trading posts, quest lines... more with the fleet/freighters... build a zoo... they could just keep iterating for another decade.
