I don't know why they would be either, seems very basic. Not like they can write software for this "OS" or anything (I believe).

To play? You know, for fun?

Some of them use things like Haiku (an OS), flavours of Lmlinix, flavours of BSD, etc. And most if the differences are mostly aesthetic.

It's like asking why people play a PC building simulator or cooking simulator.
