It's official - Namco is in love with Nintendo.

Seriously, Namco has just come out of nowhere with an insane amount of support for the GBA . Some of it looks like total garbage, but there is also a lot of quality games coming from them too.

jesus christ, just think how much money Nintendo is making from roytalties off the GBA, DS, and the GCN

That's the bulk of their revenue.

That's why they won't go third party anytime soon.

and with a guaranteed 2mil+ seller with Pokemon Emerald coming out VERY SOON

everytime i go to my local gamestop or EB, i always see people pre-ordering the upcoming Pokemon..its crazy

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (April 20, 2005) – Leading video games publisher and developer Namco Hometek Inc. today announced that United Media has awarded Namco the interactive entertainment publishing rights to "Peanuts," the renowned comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz. The partnership allows Namco to create and publish games featuring "Peanuts" characters and properties, including Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Peppermint Patty, Linus and Pigpen for all current and upcoming game platforms through 2009.

GBA GBA GBA

Gunstar Super Heroes and Sigma Star Story are probably buys for me, as well as Riviera and maybe Snk vs. Capcom (as long as it's close to the NGPC than the NEo versions)

Those are the ones I'm interested in. Especially Mr. Driller A! NEW NAMCO = LOVE!
(Also, MMACGBA is taking far too goddamn long)

I'm curious about Popeye: Rush for Spinach. It's by Namco, and I've been seeing quite a few ads for it, surprisingly.

Might it be another one of those overlooked gems?

They're making a game about Metallica? Will it be better than KISS:Psycho Circus or that Journey game from the 80's?

Where did the new Harvest Moon GBA come from, exactly? I wasn't aware a GBA sequel was released in Japan, even.

I am debating picking up Twisted, and will likely pick up Mario Tennis when the time comes.

Anyone know anything about I-Ninja Advance? Strange choice there.

I'm interested in Popeye as well, especially since it's $15 at release. It doesn't have to be far above mediocre to be worth that.

For fun, play "Spot the DS conversion!" Wac-a-Mole? Check!

the official john tv will buy list:

23 Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (Nintendo)
28 Riviera: Promised Land (Atlus)
28 Sigma Star Saga (Namco) <- maybe?
-- MegaMan Anniversary Collection (Capcom)
-- Dynasty Warriors Advance (Koei)
-- Gunstar Super Heroes (Sega)
-- Custom Robo Advance (Nintendo)
-- Earthbound Advance (Nintendo)
-- Klonoa Heroes: Legend of the Star Medal (Namco)
-- Tales of Phantasia (Namco)

Of course, none of them will touch the awesomeness that is Fire Emblem, but still, I look forward to many of these.

What? No Legend of the Mystical Ninja 1&2 (which just came out in Japan, btw)? Damn you Konami! Seriously though, I'm praying Konami announces it at E3.

Except Earthbound! Earthbound is the most awesomest thing ever to come out of awesome town!

Also, Rebelstar Tactical Command is another game I want for GBA.

EXE6

That's seriously going to be a GBA title?

Sheesh, Capcom.

If you're gonna milk Mega Man this vigorously, why not churn out another sequel in the original platforming series? I'd love to see Mega Man 9 one day. For any system.

Here's what I'm interested in:

* Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (Nintendo) - MUST BUY
* Wario Ware Twisted! (Nintendo) - Maybe
* Riviera: Promised Land (Atlus) - It looks pretty, has anyone played the Japanese version?
* Ultimate Pocket Games (Telegames) - I liked Ultimate Brain/Card Games, but I don't actually have an idea what kind of games this one includes.
* MegaMan Anniversary Collection (Capcom) - What's the real reason for the delay?
* Metal Slug (SNK Playmore) - Isn't this already out?
* Gunstar Super Heroes (Sega) - If people say the original is great, maybe I should give this one a chance?
* SNK Vs Capcom (SNK Playmore) - Not really. Just listing this because I actually want a new Cardfighter Clash instead.

Edit: Also want Rebel Star Tactical Command and Sennen Kazoku.

It was released December 2003 in Japan ;) it's just taking an incredibly long time to reach the English-speaking region. The Girl version of A Wonderful Life (for 'cube) is expected to be released the same day the GBA version is out.

Perhaps… maybe not… Capcom is running a new Navi contest ATM so perhaps we could be lucky enough to get two EXEs! You'd think EXE on DS would be somewhat “finalized” by now. :/

A plain EXE for GBA and EXE: Full Duplex for NDS. That would rock.

No. God no. A thousand million billion times no. It has some sexy nice 2D artwork on par with the old school Genny Disney games, but that's its only redeeming feature. See, it's a side-scrolling racing game... basically, a platformer where you're competing against 3 CPU opponents to see who can reach the end first. The level designs, the power ups, the whole premise--it's all weak.

You remember the ostrich race mini-game from Donkey Kong Country 2? Imagine if they turned that into a full game. That's Popeye: Rush For Spinach.

A remake of the old 80's Popeye arcade game would've been 100 times better... at least.

I wouldn't say any are definite purchases for me, but there are quite a few games that I'm definitely going to keep an eye on. There seem to be several good action games on the horizon, which is definitely nice.

If a Custom Robo game came over, I'd spring for that immediately. Has anything been heard about the sequel lately? It showed up once in a Japanese mag (probably Famitsu) and seemingly disappeared completely.

Fire Emblem alone makes the GBA a better purchase than the DS and PSP combined.

Any Japanese GAFers want to give us any impressions of the GBA Fire Emblem (I am assuming it was already released in Japan)? It is as good as the other GBA FE?

true but gba games look freaking AWSOME on the DS, not to mention the dpad on the DS is superior in every way to any other dpad previously available on any portable.

Is Fire Emblem as awesome as people say? I keep hearing about it, haven't played it yet. I'm considering getting it or Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga next. Which one?

It is my 2nd favorite game this generation (only after Winning Eleven on PS2) and one of my favorite games of all time.

Based on my own tastes, i'd go with Mario and Luigi.

Two of my buddies got FE and loved it, but there is a lot of replaying battles over and over to keep all your people alive it seems

I disagree. I've palyed GBA games on the DS and I like the way it looks BETTER on the SP. I played them on the DS before the SP so I was suprised to feel how much more comfortable the SP was over the DS. I got the old school NES SP too, and it feels jsut like an NES controller ... something I've played so, so many times. NES SP> everything else.

was that second GBA klonoa any better than empire of dreams. I just finished EoD and it was alright, but I would want a second one to have substantially more to consider it.
