One of her birthday cards? Okay. I'll get a picture of her holding the card.

I've been looking at some nice setups in the 1300 dollar range and i havent found much for you. I say put the money towards a nice toshiba and then pay the rest overtime. Compusa or bestbuy might have a no interest event going on. just remember XGA = Bad WSDXGA = GOOD.

And remember Dell is going to show some of the early pentium M computers on QVC this weekend and online for some special price. I heard they were giving extra options like 512mb of extra ram for 20 bucks extra. Which is a steal if you ask me.

I'll get to work on picking up Office for you gary.

Thank you. How cheap can you get it? I'll glady cover cost of Office and shipping and I'll do the card thing.

Without office I found a great HP notebook.

With that hp it looks like your paying more for the graphics card. Did it tell you if it uses shared memory or not? (the graphics card) cause if so i say no go. If its dedicated, then thats really nice. But like you said she's not a gamer. Othewise thats a really nice Laptop.

Worth the money, use the rest for a nice bag for her Gary. Or something nice that she can use.

Yeah its nice, and for the price its good. Just know that its a power hungry machine. So use some of the extra money for a battery and a nice protective case. And if you have money over get a shuffle for her if she doesnt have one already.

That should bring you right to 1200 bucks or a little over.

NEED TO warn ya, that Circuit city (sorry my bad) computer doesnt have a year warranty. So take that into concideration.

The Dell element recomended in your other notebook topic is by far the best, I'm even tempted to buy it.

stay away from TigerDirect.

What do you want to spend and what do you want to do with it?

Dell has some deals going on right now.

Here is a good one:
Inspiron 9300
Intel Pentium M Processor 740 (1.73 GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB)
17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen XGA+ Display
512MB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz 2 Dimm
256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 6800
80GB Hard Drive
8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability
Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless (802.11 b/g, 54Mbps)
Free Printer
Free 2 Day Air

$1,237.00 before tax.

Replace 6800 with x300 64 MB, and it goes down to $1,188.00, but it would be worth the additional cost if you ask me.

I just got the Inspiron 6000 with the 15.4 inch screen and it is HUGE! I'm actually glad I didn't get the 17" 9300.

I tried the dell element posted and couldn't get it to the price he posted.
Anything wrong with the HP I posted? A lot of great reviews for it.

Get any insperon up to 1900 bucks then use the code. It will take off 750 bucks instantly. Which makes it a great freaking deal. Dont look at the red price but the price with a line through it.

I was able to get it to 1215 and that included 1gb of ram and 100gb hdd.

the Nvidia 6800 Go is a little overkill if you ask me. It falls into the desktop replacement laptop.

I got a Inspiron 6000 with a 64 MB x300 and it plays some games just fine (WoW, HL2).

I was able to config one with a x300 64 MB, with 100 GB and 1 GB of RAM and 1.6 GHz CPU for 1,188.00, which is DIRT cheap.

Oli, make sure you add the coupon.
BF606XBVMFBG9L

that should adjust the price.
