East vs West was just media sensationalism. The real beef started when Pac got shot in '94, and Puff's bodyguard Wolf shot and killed one of Suge Knight's friends at Jermain Dupri's birthday party in 1995 in Atlanta. That's when it got serious. Pac/Suge had common enemies and the rappers unfortunately were mouthpieces for the criminals backing them.
I have always believed the Crip-Pac, BIG-LAPD killing connections but are there any legs to the Wardell "Poochie" Fouse killed Biggie story? Only one source has claimed that (Karding, former LAPD).
