I haven't been here long, but I was here to view some of Derrick's posts. I liked his posts. It was always nice to see an opposing viewpoint... even if that viewpoint was in every thread. Iunno, I see shit like that still going on without anybody getting banned, so I don't see how Derrick was in the wrong when in comparison.

I'd buy this. Derrick would bring up some good points, it's just that he never gave up and would go into hype threads to complain about the game everyone else in the thread is excited about.

I don't understand why he kept going into those Thief and Tomb Raider threads.

Probably the same reason people kept replying to him: They feel like they need to.

The original plan was to make a permanent exit, but I've instead elected to just keep a much lower profile and post infrequently. GAF is great, but constantly getting in arguments with random people over the internet over stupid shit gets exhausting. In the few months I took off, my productivity at work soared and I was generally a bit happier. That's not a condemnation of GAF or anything; it has far more to do with me and my individual habits than it does GAF.

I'll pop in and post something every few of weeks or so, but I don't think I'll ever post with the same frequency that I once did.
