If they want this feud to last, The New Day has to become tweeners at least until the almost 30 days are up. It'll make for a great program between the two teams.

So with the death of my favorite local Indy St.Louis Anarchy, Michael Elgin has announced he is starting his own STL Indy. He also is teasing a main event of Elgin/Strong BJ vs Jeff Cobb/War Machine. My head may explode if this comes to existence in February.

Ibushi vs Omega is pretty high on my list of most wanted matches, goddamn I hope it happens.

You knew The New Day were going to win but glad it was this way. Let them be heelish so that way people will want them to lose the titles all the more.

I have noticed WWE have developed a habit of going for a close up shot of one person in the crowd after a big move/spot. This is the worst production idea I have seen in recent years.

to those saying a goldberg title run makes no sense -

one of the reasons wwe brings old timers back for these exhibitions or nostalgia runs is because it gets reported in places where old fans who have grown out of wrestling, and have no idea who aj style or roman reigns are, see those headlines and think 'huh, maybe i'll check that out'. in the process, since wrestling is addictive for some reason, there is a chance they will get sucked into the other stuff. then you have renewed fans, who might just pay for the network and help their ratings out.

there's every chance that without the likes of goldberg, lesnar, undertaker, triple h, sting, the rock and others who could come back still that the ratings and interest in the WWE would be declining much faster than it is right now. they'll watch those indicators much more closely and with much more information than any of us, and they keep returning to these wells in light of that.

the thing is, within 5 or so years, most to all of these attitude era stars will actually be too old and/or beaten up to appear in anything other than a promo, so they really should extract everything they can out of this well before it legitimately dries up forever.

at that point they might see the decline that they are delaying for now take place and be forced to create new interest in whatever stars they have then. the people they have now are absolutely not on the level in terms of expanding interest in the company as the stars they had during the attitude era. it was the last boom period, and until there is another one it will be impossible to conquer the nostalgia that both the company and the fans feel for that time.

so goldberg having a title run, which it is still at least mildly plausible (he looks as good as he used to, just a bit older, and he is good on the mic, apparently better than he ever was before), makes complete sense and generates interest on a level that kevin owens, and every single star under 40 they have, likely never will.

if you don't like it, and just want to appreciate workrate and an illusion of legitimate competition, there are indies.
