750k-562k = 188k for PS3 and PC, so PS3 version was less than 188k

Even if that's true, and it may very well be, that alone doesn't explain strong 360 sales unless consumers were very unsure about what console to buy but absolutely had to buy one when they went to the stores. If you go to buy a PS3 and don't find one, you likely wouldn't pick up a 360 instead unless you really didn't care that much about which console you wanted to begin with.

It seems like the advertising is mostly in the U.K. I've seen nothing in the U.S.


Thoughts:

Wii - i don't comment on Wii usually. I don't understand it's sales trends. The games that sell on the system are mostly older titles, the system has very few and far between new releases that chart but the ones that do stick around. Mario Kart finally out of the top ten, that's unexpected but then again this months top ten is 200k+ when most of the time it's 120k+

Because it's a fucking atrocious game with no gameplay and a terrible, plot-hole ridden story? But... you can read my various rants on the game in the Heavy Rain Spoiler topic, and the Heavy Rain topic. google search it if interested (you're probably not).

Heavy Rain doesn't have a ton of gameplay, but it's really secondary to the story. It's a modern point and click adventure story, and in that respect it's damn good for what it is.

Sure, it's not going to appeal to everybody, but those kinds of games selling well are great news. It staves off me walking into Gamestop and being faced with a solid wall of party games and shooters.

I don't care about risks, I only care about success. Uniqueness does not automatically demand my praise. Nor does being niche. I'm not in the charity business. We're gamers and consumers! Developers and publishers serve us. If they make a terrible product, one can only hope the product is not successful so it does not continue to waste space as the developer continues to try to make more games like it.

I agree with you here and you have a right to not like it. I think a lot of the times gamers get too caught up in what they consider innovation and don't realize that the product is bare bones and doesn't work the way it's supposed to. It's usually not until later that someone else perfects the idea. This is what usually happens to a lot of stuff. I love new ideas but sometimes they get too much praise. Although I believe Heavy Rain is a good game.
