Horizon deserved way more than that but still happy they performed well within expectations. I mean it was beaten by fucking GTAV!

Post saved. This year is going to be fun.PS4 wont be topped after August, period.
Its got Gran Turismo coming, then Spiderman, Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Wars, Destiny 2 and Call of Duty.
Literally nothing stops Sony this fall.
Sony's PS4 sales ratio highlight that US/UK are closer to 30% of their entire market.
If those 4 markets are 2/3rd of their entire market, they would never have sold >40 million PS4s.
2.6 million in two weeks is not within expectations, more like beyond expectations. And there is a world outside of america you know...Horizon deserved way more than that but still happy they performed well within expectations. I mean it was beaten by fucking GTAV!
And who would've known Ghost Recon was this popular... I certainly didn't.
So, making some assumptions here:
Even assuming that US by itself (not including UK) is 30% of their market.
650K/.3 = 2.16 million units total. Assume a conservative 25% digital attach rate (which is fairly close to what major publishers report), and that number is now 2.7 million conservatively.
I don't know why people are trying to suggest that Sony is lying. The numbers add up. I also don't know how people are saying that the sales are disappointing. With digital, it likely sold 800+K NPD in the US on a single platform. Those are incredibly strong numbers, probably Sony's best debut for a new IP since TLOU.
Horizon is a big hit.
EFA IMO
You already know, Sanji. You already know.Quick glance in this thread I see a lot of horizon talk I'm on gaf so it's either
A)A lot of congratulations
Or
B) downplaying sale
Well those 5 horizon threads prior to the game's release didn't come to fruition so...Quick glance in this thread I see a lot of horizon talk I'm on gaf so it's either

650k for a month, but 2.6m was the number for 14 days WW. Not disagreeing though.
great. now all the switch is going to get is bomberman and zelda clones!
RE7 being under 1.4 million ltd is... not so good.

Horizon was not beaten by GTAV.
We don't get pies anymore thoughNPD threads are fun again.
Probably an aside, but what do we think Nintendo's digital footprint is? I wouldn't think it to be near Ps4/bone, but probably higher than previous years right?

Wild lands knocking it out of the park doesn't surprise me. Kinda funny that the OT has such a small following here on GAF. The game is pretty fun solo, and a blast with friends.
Yeah, it's a bomba compared to RE6. I hope that means RE8 is back to the good stuff!
Ubisoft games in general get a rather lukewarm reception here on GAF.
It depends on the bundles. If they go cheap with Horizon it will be close. Go all out was with mass bundles for Destiny 2, Battlefront 2 and Gran Turismo Sport(in Europe) and they will dominate. If Red Dead 2 somehow makes 2017 and gets a bundle then it won't even be a contest.
Give your prediction so we can save yours as well.
I don't think Spider-Man is making 2017 and RDR2 is questionable, but neither are really needed considering the other games mentioned.
Yeah, it's a bomba compared to RE6. I hope that means RE8 is back to the good stuff!
If there's a proven system seller its Pokemon. If Switch has a Pokemon game this coming Holiday its not gonna be that easy for the PS4 to win.
how are european sales? iirc sold like 300k in japan,
but yeah either going first person was a mistake or RE6 tarnished the brand so much, brand is damaged
but yeah with how bad re7 peformed + how the new monster hunter is underperforming, capcom is doomed
RE7 was the good stuff. Just add a solid mercenaries mode to RE8 and build on RE7. Also I think this game will turn more profit then RE6 did...it was a bloated mess.
Ubisoft games get lukewarm reviews too, but they keep selling so whatever they are doing is working. It's like the fast food of console gaming.
Very true. It's like the fast food of console gaming.
True, but would they have another Pokemon game ready so fast? A port of a 3DS game won't cut it.

Lol.I'm surprised Ghost Recon is the topper. The game opened to mediocre reviews and nobody seems to be talking about it both on and outside my internet bubble. Same with For Honor for that matter. I guess a ton of people bought it and traded it in a week later.

I don't think even Pokemon can overcome all the $199 PS4 Slim bundles that are coming our way.Nah. If Pokemon hits, Switch will easily out do the PS4 up to November. Maybe not during December.
RE7 hasn't performed badly though.
If Pokemon Stars is real and a version of Smash Bros. releases on Switch this fall, those two + Super Mario Odyssey are going to do big numbers and I could see a scenario where Switch takes a couple NPD wins in the fourth quarter. But it's far from a guarantee.
I think the one prediction I feel pretty safe making is that XB1 / Scorpio will not win a single month in 2017. Now that I've said this, I'm sure to be proven wrong lol

I just find it hard to imagine that Nintendo would fire all of its big guns at once like that in one holiday. Pokemon, Smash AND Mario?
What could they possibly have for the first half of the next year? And at that point, their biggest franchises (Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario, Pokemon, Smash, Splatoon) would have already hit the console within 12 months... hard to follow that up in the next year. Where do they go from there?Of course, I personally believe than Xenoblade 2 will be a March 2018 title (makes most sense imo) but if that stays in 2017 then it's even more crowded.Metroid? lol
At least one of Pokemon or Smash is for 2018, that would be my prediction.
