A colourful, cartoony looking game that has Jet Set Radio/Ratchet vibes was never going to set the world on fire despite whatever quality the title has or if it's open world (which most won't even be aware of, like the game itself).

I do not begrudge them winning November and December. So they can feel like they are flying for two month until the impact in January tells them they were actually still falling.

Also when I tested the demo at a launch party, the game grew old really fast. You just did the same shooting over and over again. All the jokes were quite abysmal as well. It's a pretty game and I guess it's made for quite young players judging from that art direction, jokes and the overall gameplay. It was kinda doomed to flop since the beginning. Nice niche game for people who likes to shoot things with different things and enjoy that kind of juvenile comedy.

Yeah, I wouldn't say its a lock either because of BF, but it has clearly been outselling the PS4 so far...

For BF you looking at:
PS4 + TLOU + GTA = $400
XB1 + ACU + ACBF = $330
(most places)

Here is what some of the retailer specific deals look like:

XB1 + ACU + ACBF + Kinect + 2nd controler = $430 (Best Buy)
XB1 + ACU + ACBF + $50GC = $330 (Target)
PS4 + Lego + LBP3 = $400 (Toys R Us)
XB1 + MCC + $30GC = $330 (Walmart)
XB1 + Kinect = $330 ( Toys R Us)
PS4 + TLOU + GTA + 2 Games = $450 (Walmart Online)
X1 + MCC + Game + 12M Live = $380 (Walmart Online)
PS4 + $50 GC (Walmart)

As you can see, X1 has more special deals planned.
It could be that MS did a lot of planning to work these out, but it is also very possible that the stores are doing this to move inventory.

Plus even something more serious like Infamous didn't light the charts on fire. This style of game design doesn't attract a lot of people.

I'll admit, the game starts fairly slow, but once you start progressing, it really opens up and turns into one of the funnest open world shooters I have ever played, and most reviewers seem to agree as well.

The humor part just depends on you taste. I think branding it as 'juvenile' is a bit of a generalization that will quickly fall apart if you take time to play through the whole campaign. I think 'over the top' would better describe it, and I for one definitely enjoyed it for what it was.

Except it's not. Some of the humor is bad but some of it strikes the right cords and is down right hilarious. The game was designed to be the antithesis of the boring modern day brown and drab shooter, which the vast majority of gaming enthusiast complain about. The problem is there are a lot of people who say they are tired of shooters but the reality is that they really like their CoD, BF or Halo.

They can't sort it out. Platform holders have no incentive to disclose digital sales to the NPD.

True, inFAMOUS is in the grey area as well. Basically it's made for a bit older audience, because of the serious themes, but at the same time it's "just a simple superhero game in a big city" just like SO. Although I enjoyed inFAMOUS:SS and Last Light, but I'm a sucker for superpowers.

Yeah, might be. I just played the early stages of the game. I didn't quite get the game, I didn't like it that much, but I know many people who likes that kind of stuff. SO is like The Simpsons and I like my comedy more like the Family Guy, if you want a dry analogy. :)

^Like Final Verdict says, it's all about "taste". I don't like that kind of jokes at all. I like them dark, mostly dry and really witty and intelligent. So SO's comedy was a huge turnoff for me.

I grew tired of shooters when CoD3 was the hottest thing. After that I've basically just played the ones that interest me: DE:HR, Destiny and such.

It´s not equivalent at all. The whole gaming world was abuzz with emotion engine and how powerful the PS2 was. That did not happen to the DS. Not because its power anyway. Not to mention that DS launched a month before the PSP.

Derp. The PS2 was seen as the most powerful console when it was released and by a large margin. Your equivalency is stupid and does not make sense. Everyone was talking about the powerful the PS2 is, and emotion engine and what not. No one talked about 3DS as the most powerful. Almost no one made a big deal. Unlike the PS2 which power meant a lot to the console.

This site used GAF leak numbers... that is why it didn't posted this month.

It had the work to put the numbers in cool graphs.

Isn't there a WalMart bundle in their flyer that includes a PS4, GTAV, TLoU, and any other two games for $430?

Yes, I have never posted in NPD threads, but what Aquamarine and others were doing was really amazing.

We lost very much because of the few vocal minority persons.

I am issuing a plea for Aquamarine to reconsider her positions and make whatever she may like in the interest of the community.

No....only retailer specific deal I could find for PS4 was the Toys R Us bundle with Lego and LBP3.
Everywhere else seems to be just doing the standard TLOU + GTA bundle.

But there is still hope, Gamestop's BF has not been leaked yet.

I'm not even sure what happened, and I've read most of last month's NPD thread. I just saw her gradually lose it, posting all caps and one-word posts and stuff.
