Read the whole article. There are a number of lawyers that are criticizing what's going on here.

They criticize his work product, but they're not criticizing why he needs his own counsel.

Honestly this story is nothing, speaking as an attorney myself. Whether he's implicated in anything or not, just being so close to this investigation means it's the smart thing to do to get counsel who specializes in this kind of investigation.
