NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation is now due on March 31

Still don't see value having frame gen, if you have enough frames you don't need more, if you don't, generating them doesn't help. But at least it's more flexible with this.

I mean you can bring 50-60fps up to 100-120fps with about the same input latency. Huge difference in motion clarity.
 
But Frame Generation ads more motion artifacts.
True but you can mitigate this if you enable Quality settings or almost make it a non-issue with DLAA (though latter is quite demanding on the GPU again). Overall I think it's a price worth paying.

I played CP2077 with 3x and I noticed those artifacts even in high adrenaline gaming, but it hardly impacted the overall visuals when playing, but on the other hand the clarity was good. The positive outweighed the negative, at least for me.

But that doesn't address the artifacts from generating new frames. It only addresses the issue of temporal upscaling artifacts.
 
For me, one of the main benefits is UE5 games. I can average around 120+ fps in Borderlands 4, but those little shader microstutters still feel awful.

Especially in single-player or gamepad games, I really don't notice a couple extra ms of latency, which is probably masked by a dozen other things in the render and input pipelines anyway.
 
I hope they add Multi-FG to Smooth Motion too. It doesn't have fancy motion vectors like DLSS-FG, but 480-500hz displays are becoming increasingly common and there are plenty of games [& emulators] without DLSS.
 
I can't do frame gen like this. The input lag alone is bad. Even using lossless scaling it's a struggle.
Lossless scaling is horrible in terms of latency added for me, basically any other FG is leagues above it. FSR FG has been good to me in occasions like when I'm CPU limited and don't want to play around 60 when the rest of the game goes around 70 or 80, then it's good, or to make sure that the games keep the fluidity even which is better than actual frame rate and with zero perceivable input lag.

But there has been moments where it just looked bad and "fluid" isn't how I'd describe it at all, like it's a per game thing.
 
I've been using frame gen + PT in RE9 and it's mostly fine. The added input lag is imperceptible with reflex+. Here and there I have seen some artifacts moving the camera but nothing that would make me turn it off.
 
I have a RTX 4060 TI 16 GB, and i´ve used FG for playing 1440p max settings/DLSS Balanced or Quality on Doom The Dark Ages, Half Life RTX and Cyberpunk (in this one using PT), and i´m pretty much happy with the results. Nvidia should also bring multi FG at least 3X for 4000 series. Taking into account all the shit show they have caused with AI in industry, is the least they can do.

Lossless scaling is not in the same realm as Nvidia's FG. It's a post process one to begin.

FG + Reflex on Nvidia side means less latency than AMD side & by and large all consoles' equivalent input latency. Of course if your base FPS is good to begin with. It's not made to turn 15 fps into 60 fps with 4x enabled 🤮

Wether it's FG through nvidia or lossless the input lag is still noticeable as hell. On both my 5070ti and 4080s
 
I like frame generation in Flight Simulator 2024, although it seems to cause random periods of very bad screen tearing before it settles down again. People on the FS forums report the same thing, with none of the fixes working for everyone (force various kinds of vsync, set max framerate, etc).

If you have a high refresh rate monitor, frame generation is a godsend. More frames = less motion blur.

But Frame Generation ads more motion artifacts.
And they are minor.

Minor artifacts > motion blur.

Yeah it's a huge game changer on my 5070ti with Pathtracing DLAA on Requiem in 1440p.

Without framegen the game is choppy and a bit rough but with framegen x2 on it's super smooth not just a little but a lot more.

Yeah have it on DLAA Pathtracing frame gen x 2 and don't notice any difference with the real deal in visual besides having a lot more fps and being way smoother. Game looks exactly the same photo realistic with or without framegen in Pathtracing DLAA in RE Requiem.
