NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready 576.02 Driver Addresses Several RTX 50 GPU Issues Including Black screens, Crashes, Freezes & More

interesting. i am using the cable that comes with the samsung g8 32 4k 240 monitor. i figured they would bundle it with display 2.1 cable.
I have the same monitor and it's not a DP 2.1 port.

Instead of buying an expensive DP2.1 cable, get a certified DP1.4 one and save your money.

I'd imagine that many DP2.1 cables will be shit and will fall back on DSC anyways.
If our shared monitor model had a DP2.1 port I'd probably advocate getting a cable because you're getting the extra bandwidth there. But we're stuck on DP1.4 anyways so no point lol.

Not sure what you mean by DSC fallback tho.

It requires a special cable with strong QC to transmit a full 80 GBps signal. A cable can be labelled as DP 2.1, but not actually perform with full 80 GBps. Say it might only transmit 65Gbps reliably. In that case, the GPU and monitor will likely fall back to DSC to get the signal such as 4K/240 @10-bit 444, which barely falls under the 80 GBps bandwidth.

In fact I suspect this will happen quite often as it is quite difficult to actually check if you are sending an uncompressed vs. DSC.

Something like 4K/1000 Hz will require over 320 GBps of bandwidth. I question whether we can ever make cables robust enough to carry that much bandwidth.

yeah, at least not for me. I have to check msi afterburner before i play any game to see if gpu temp monitor is working because i use a custom fan curve.
Just tested with Afterburner and can confirm it's working for me (at least for now).

Remember to check global profiles / app profile for doom just in case it was set.
It appears to be a driver issue at this point. On my desktop I am only getting 114 fps on a 4090.

Doom Eternal should be getting nearly 300 fps on a 4090 even with ray tracing and ultra nightmare.

I used to have this problem with call of duty.

i followed this guy settings ( skip the part where he talks about optimized settings for the game, he then talks about the nvidia control panel settings. follow his steps and you should get high frames. not sure why Nvidia fucking things up )

Jesus fucking christ.

GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 576.26 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 576.02.

A GeForce driver is an incredibly complex piece of software, We have an army of software engineers constantly adding features and fixing bugs. These changes are checked into the main driver branches, which are eventually run through a massive QA process and released. Since we have so many changes being checked in, we usually try to align driver releases with significant game or product releases. This process has served us pretty well over the years but it has one significant weakness. Sometimes a change that is important to many users might end up sitting and waiting until we are able to release the driver. The GeForce Hotfix driver is our way to trying to get some of these fixes out to you more quickly. These drivers are basically the same as the previous released version, with a small number of additional targeted fixes. The fixes that make it in are based in part on your feedback in the Driver Feedback threads and partly on how realistic it is for us to quickly address them. These fixes (and many more) will be incorporated into the next official driver release, at which time the Hotfix driver will be taken down. To be sure, these Hotfix drivers are beta, optional and provided as-is. They are run through a much abbreviated QA process. The sole reason they exist is to get fixes out to you more quickly. The safest option is to wait for the next WHQL certified driver. But we know that many of you are willing to try these out. As a result, we only provide NVIDIA Hotfix drivers through our NVIDIA Customer Care support site.

Click here to download the GeForce Hotfix display driver version 576.26 for Windows 10 x64 / Windows 11 x64.

These Hotfix drivers represent a lot of additional work by our engineering teams, We hope they provide value for you

Another hotfix.

So far it has been great on my PC. No issues.

Still rocking 572.83 since it's working perfectly with no issues.

I'm not gonna upgrade until they sort out this shit.

I've had to roll back to driver version 566.36 because the temp monitoring bug was driving me nuts. So now im just gonna wait until a proper driver version, with all the fixes included, is released.

i've been playing Assassins Creed Odyssey and Horizon Zero Dawn remastered and have had no issues on my 5070 Ti or 4090.

Horizon Forbidden West was specifically mentioned in these patch notes, so I guess I gotta upgrade, eventhouhg I am not yet playing that game.

If it's working I wouldn't touch it.

VRR flicker has gotten way worse with the latest drivers, at least for me. It's getting to the point where it's bugging me more than screen tearing! Another issue is how much worse the image looks, especially in dark areas. The difference in image quality is night and day in places like Oblivion's towers.

VRR flicker is bad due to inconsistent frame times. I find it much worse on DirectX titles as opposed to Vulkan, which is why I wish every developer used Vulkan.

I haven't updated my drivers in like six months due to fear of Nvidia's incompetence as of late. So I guess I'm good to update finally? No weirdness with anyone?

The previous drivers were so bad that they had to fix this twice

I've finally started playing Forza Horizon 4, which I had for ages on steam and it constantly crashes (2080 super) after and hour or so. I've reverted as far back as 561.09 and 0 crashes since then. These new nvidia drivers are really crap.

So folks are still having issues even with newer drivers and 5000 series. What a shit show from Nvidia.

Remember how they were laughing at AMD a few years back?

50 series owners are the issues fixed for yall now or are you still experiencing driver issues?

I'm still on 30 series so just curious what the current state of affairs is

I currently have an issue with 1 game that I play with black flicking, other than that all good on a 5080.

Edit: This is with 576.28 still an issue.

I had my first issue with the latest driver on a 3080. Black screens when HDR is enabled. Works fine with it off but it's not ideal, gonna be cagey now whenever I update to a new driver.

I rolled back to 5.72 and all my issues went away. Nvidia is really dropping the ball here

Im still having the occasional random black screen. It requires unplugging my DP cable and re-inserting it.

I have yet to have the issue on HDMI connected to my TV though.

Tried these drivers and had nothing but crashing in both Doom TDA and Helldivers (crashing every 5 minutes on some maps). Rolled back to December drivers and they are way more stable in my opinion. Absolutely no issues with Doom either, despite the game begging me to install latest drivers.

Next hotfix driver is out:

(not sure why nvidia doesn't post these on their site)

This Hotfix addresses the following:
  • 576.66 Hotfix Fixed - Dune: Awakening may crash during gameplay [5273568]
  • 576.66 Hotfix Fixed - EA Sports FC 25 may crash during gameplay [5251937]
  • 576.66 Hotfix Fixed - [RTX 50 series] Dragons Dogma 2 displays shadow flicker [5252205]
  • 576.66 Hotfix Fixed - [RTX 50 series] Video playback in a web browser may show brief red/green flash corruption [5241341]
  • 576.66 Hotfix Fixed - Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 may crash [5283401]

Let's hope they keep their promise.

Their number 1 priority is probably fixing 5000 issues I can understand. Smooth motion is being performed by the optical flow accelerator at the driver level if I understand correctly which is no longer being used for dlss 4 FG. I don't see why they wouldn't add it if AMD AFMF2.1 basically work the same and there is also Lossless scaling FG that works on everything. Having something similar at the driver level for as many Nvidia cards as possible just make things more convenient. Hope they can add driver level force reflex overwrite also to make it even better. Having tested fighting games with LSFG at 2X fps is amazing.
