Benoit was probably the one that affected me most, because of how sad, weird, then downright insane it turned out to be.

Me in Eddie thread

HOLY FUCK!!!

When I first read it I was in shock and then though "this is gaf this is a joke" then when i opened the thread and read the quote I still did not believe it and i still dont want to believe it...

HOLY SHIT :(

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK! No matter what the cause FUCK!!

He will be missed by all wrestling fans and I fell sorry for his family

Me in Benoit Thread

I am in shock here, honestly!

I cursed the guy for not appearing at the show last night.... I feel bad. If the world has Benoit then this is bad for everyone. If the whole thing about his family dieing is correct, then that is crazy.

Of course, if it is a lie by WWE then that is ****ing stupid of them... if it is not a lie then the whole Vince is dead angle has just backfired on them.

There is so much wrong with all of this right now :(

Sad rereading those threads again :(

Chris Candido Thread <--- so short :(

Benoit's definitely came off as a shock, at first I was bummed and then the details came out, it really seems like Eddie was the last person holding him together and it was just a matter of time before he snapped without him. It's terrible how he went out.

I wasn't around GAF and didn't actually watch much of wrestling during the '05 time, but I still remember Eddie's death.

Posted quite a bit on GAF by the time the Benoit incident happened. Really shocking and scary. Even knowing the information that had occurred, it is still depressing watching his tribute clips.

I was shocked at Eddie's death. I was still in high school, year eight I think and I went through the whole day not being able to tell my friends that he passed away, because I didn't want to accept it myself :(

The event happened during the early hours of the morning in Australia, so none would have seen the news, but I saw it on a news ticker right before leaving for school...

"Punk really screwed up his hip, and it needs to be addressed," the source told us earlier today, "this is a major blow to Monday Night Raw, because the only heels on the show are Nexus and Miz. It's pretty obvious Punk was moved to Raw to become a top heel, but that's on hold now because he'll be out at least til the end of the year."
Say it ain't so :(

I too was not around for any of those tribute posts, and I kind of want to avoid them at the risk of feeling sad. At first, Benoit's death was hard for me. At the time, he probably was my favorite wrestler. I loved his moveset to death. Of course he was not a GOD on the mic, but I did appreciate his work.

I remember the day I heard about it. I was sick, in bed, but managed to wake up in time for that Smackdown. I turned on the TV to see Vince in the ring talking about how Benoit and his family passed away. I thought it was a work. I didn't believe it until I got a text message from a friend who watched wrestling telling me, "HOLY SHIT. BRO. WHERE ARE YOU? BENOIT PASSED AWAY, MAN. HIS WIFE AND SON DIED, TOO.. =("

I was shocked and disgusted. At first I thought they were killed by some murderer that randomly came to their house unwanted. As soon as the details came out of the true occurrence, I don't know, I felt more at ease -- if that even sounds right. But, I grew more interested. I searched high and low for information regarding the Benoit case for I am interested in morbid things like that. I really wanted to know what went on in Benoit's mind as he did all of that during that unfortunate weekend. I wanted to know what his wife and Daniel thought. Etc, etc. I've been interested in gruesome stuff like that at a young age, but alas, my questions, rude at best, can never be answered.

Benoit's death doesn't "affect" me anymore. I've come to terms with it, really. The internet was so unforgiving with jokes, etc..

I hate comparing wrestlers, but the clean grappling style of Daniel Bryan (as well as his finisher) reminds me of Benoit, so I guess I've found a new wrestler to admire.

Reading Test's comments on Eddie now that he died early as well is pretty depressing :^/

Nov 14

I've been up all night and haven't realy slept as everyone knows by know Eddie Guerrero has passed away. Everybody knows Eddie had his demons but he had been clean for a long time, it was way to soon for him to go and he leaves behind three beautifull young daughters and a wonderfull wife my heart goes out to them. Eddie was a huge help to me. He helped me progress in the ring and we even wrestled at wrestlemania in houston in 2001 for the european championship. Eddie I pray you are in a better place and THANKYOU for everything you taught me. Now instead of usually talking about what I'm up to I'm going to break down the reality of this business we call wrestling. When I say "who's next" I'm not coining Goldbergs line I'm actually wondering who's next? Who's next to die?

I can think of at least 15 to 20 people who have died from various things mostly prescription pain killers. For all you wanna be wrestlers who wanna get in this business..escpecially now when wwe doesn't pay you anymore than you would make at a 9 to 5 job let me break some things down for you. When I started wrestling I had never seen or heard of vicodin or percocet or soma. How come so many wrestlers die from these medications and football players and hockey players don't? The answer is simple..wrestlers especially wwe wrestlers work 5 days a week all year long taking bump after bump in the ring, a doctor explained it to me like this..everytime you take a fall in the ring it's like gettin rear ended by a car going 20mph so how many bumps in the ring a night do you take? multiply that by how many times a week you work all year long..that's a hell of a lot of whiplash and pain. I can remember hearing a conversation from some unamed wwe head guys talking about how this certain person needs to go to rehab but they couldnt send him because he was to important to the show..that's the reality people thta is how we are treated...look at me I break my neck in the ring had to have 2 discs taken out of my neck and a steel plate put in and was told at the time by Johny Ace in his exact words were when I asked if my job would be in jeopardy? He said "we don't fire people with injuries like that" Hmm that's funny cause 2 months after surgery I got fired because I wasn't working. My 7 years of busting my ass for them and putting over the bosses son while my foot was broken in a cast were all forgotten about. I remember when I was bein trained by Bret and I met Bad News Allen he said this to me and I'll never forget it "all wrestlers are to Vince are puppets and when he is done playing with you he throws you away but sometimes he'll dust you off bring you back and play with you some more" That is the truth people...when Johny Ace called me and told me they were releasing me which of course he put all the heat on Vince...I said to him what kind of message are you sending the boys that if they get hurt they are going to get fired? So all the guys who don't want to lose their jobs what do they do...popp a couple of percocet or vicodin and mask the pain cause god forbid they say they are hurt and lose their job...I'm not going to name any names but I know at least a dozen or so wrestlers who are addicted to these things for that very reason...get hurt lose your job...

I just turned 30 my back aches everyday, I have a metal plate in my neck and yes I got in the business at the right time and have a lot of nice things but is it all worth it? you guys don't see the ugly side of this business..yes wrestling is entertainment but the bumps and bruises are real and sometimes they don't go away...so think long and hard before you get in this business cause I can tell you first hand that if your not working or making them money they don't give a SHIT about you....and the sad part is Eddie was clean and I guarantee he won't be the last one to die in the next 12 months..so that's why I say who's next? Don't take your life for granted it's a gift..don't go to bed mad and tell the people you care about you love them because you never know....take care
Taken from the Eddie thread.

Owen's death got me the hardest, by far. probably partially because it was one of the few PPVs i didn't order that year, and i found out at around the end of the PPV via usenet (RSPW) when i checked for the OtE PPV results.

also because nobody ever had shit to say about him. he had no real injuries, no reports of painkillers or steroids, he seemed clean, seemed a good family guy, and he was just in the middle of his first big push/gimmick in ages. Mark Henry's poem where he broke down on the RAW tribute show the next day got to me, too.

on some level, i was feeling sad for Bret, too. Montreal was still fresh, Pillman just died a year and a half earlier, and Bret had already lost one of his other brothers earlier in the decade. follow that up with DBS and Benoit a few years later... man. the entire Hart/dungeon family saga is sad. Von Erichs, too.

Benoit's death hit me hard, at first, until reports of what actually happened hit the news. I have no desire to watch his old matches, now, I've probably only watched a handful since his death. It's not just because of the sick shit he did in his last days, but also because just seeing those stiff chair shots to the head he took, every diving headbutt, etc, could have added to the dementia, makes it hard to watch. i can't watch them with an "awesome!! diving headbutt off the cage!" feeling like i once did. i just see a guy slowly and unknowingly destroying his brain which probably led to the murder of his wife and child.

I was traumatized by the whole events of Benoit death. I swear for the whole week I was just not right.

I remember going to Vengeance and Chris not being there. Now it's really fucked up to think back on it.

Punk is not going to feud with Bryan. They are going to team up. Raw's got plenty of heels. Nexus, Miz, Sheamus. Cena is turning, and after Bryan the top faces are John Morrison and R-Truth :lol . Punk is going face.

Same goes for McMahon.

:lol You asshole.

and seemingly MVP is alluding to working with R-Truth and Cena musically. I remember it being up in the air before but damn.

So ... BALLIN' CRUNK THUGANOMICS? Smh...

I'm eager to hear... no joke

edit: Cena's last album sold almost a million and half copies. wow not bad. (1,346,000 to be exact)

I was most saddend by the Owen Hart death. The others were tragic but his was a complete accident. He never even got to reach his apex. We never got to see him mature during the Attitude era.

And hmm...I like CM Punk as a heel. Sheamus is starting to come into his own but he still needs some seasoning.

Right now the faces are Great Khali, Mark Henry, Santino, R-Truth, John Morrison, Bryan Daniels.

Evan Bourne is out of commission for right now. And without Jobbers, only Morrison, Truth and Bryan are legitimate.

The smart thing to do with Punk would be to keep him on TV until he heals up, so he can just build up with promos. Let him do some commentating, cut promos on whoever they wanted him to fued with & he can still look strong without even getting in the ring.

Depending on the severity of the injury, he can even do run-ins and attack someone.

only death in wrestling that mentally broke me was the death of WCW

I miss those random Meng vs. Alex Wright matches on WCW Worldwide

Another death that I just now thought of that came out of nowhere was Mike Awesome.

I remember Joey Styles in one of the One Night Stand PPVs saying something along the lines, "He should hang himself" and ironically it happened...

On a lighter tone, I remember revealing to you guys that
Chavo
was the Soaring Eagle under the costume. And, I didn't think they would at the time -- but they will incorporate that into some storyline. I hope
Kerwin White
returns. His theme song was so ... fresh. :lol

Meng was actually going to be on one of the early UFCs because he had the reputation of being the best brawler in the world.

Mark Henry,

I love Santino, he has saved many a Raw, but he is not a face. Faces heroically go over heels. He is a comic.
R-Truth, John Morrison,
As I said, these are the top faces after Bryan & Orton which means that the face roster is pretty weak.
Bryan Daniels.
Daniel Bryan or Brian Danielson. Not Bryan Daniels.

Anyway, a Bryan and Punk team-up is the direction they're going. Watch.

Just imagine the tag transition sequences they could go through where they kick their opponents in multiple directions simultaneously. It will be a thing of beauty.

"It's a shame he didn't take his own life," was what he said. After I learned Awesome had died that was the first thing I thought of. I wonder how Joey feels about that now?

Ah. Thanks! Knew I got something wrong. Yeah, it's real creepy..

:lol @ Kano. I didn't read that thread for obvious reasons but I am curious now.

How, good entertainers on raw and smackdown constantly get shit on by the IWC because they win matches. Like Rey, Taker, Drew(for a while), etc.
When you start listing good entertainers, you might have a point.

Slow news week from this week's Observer...

Chavo Guerrero will apparently be the guy revealed at the end when the Screaming Eagle is unmasked. They did an angle on Smackdown where Hornswoggle was going crazy about the Eagle. Apparently Hornswoggle, who can’t speak, already knows, but can’t tell anyone.

TNA House Show tonight. I'm....excited? I guess. Honestly it's better than the the entertainment I usually get in my neck of the woods. Which is nothing. Ill post some pics later.

TNA house shows are meant to be pretty fun. Enjoy.

I was wondering about the main event. Jeff Hardy and AJ are both in Immortal (unless storylines are ignored at house shows). And I believe Hardy's daughter was just born. So I'm pretty sure thats going to change. I'm kind of disappointed at the lack of RVD and Angle, but maybe there will be a surprise or two.

Maybe Angle's playing up the Jarrett beat down, and RVD just isn't being used because of the "set number of dates" thing with his contract.

Sigh...Hopefully when Linda loses they realize, "Oh wait, we don't give a crap what politicians think" and move on from this stupid phase.
Agreed. Then they can revert back to the "we don't give a crap what our fans think" phase we've come to know and love.

It would be awfully amusing if people interpreted that WWE live event billing to infer that only standing room only tickets were available. :lol

OMG! FREE SHIRTS! I WANNA VOTE FOR LINDA!

STAMFORD, Conn., October 28, 2010 – To celebrate the victory of restoring voters' right to wear WWE® clothing at the polls, World Wrestling Entertainment® will be giving away WWE merchandise near select Connecticut poll locations on Election Day, this Tuesday, November 2nd.

Out of respect for voters from all political parties, WWE will not be handing out merchandise within 75 feet of polling locations, and merchandise will be available on a first come, first served basis.
