oh please

You know they need/want new stars so you push them then put them in inexplicable situations that make them look bad, its utterly retarded. Still not as stupid as what happened with Punk.

FUCK THIS COMPANY

Now we get 3 weeks of Cena doing Barretts dirty work leading up to the ultimate heel turn because Cena is jealous the Orton was stealing his spotlight.

Not happening. This angle is the closest we'll get this decade to Cena actually going heel. The WWE needs all the merch sales they can get now this business is getting even worse.

It's been like that for a while now. Every facet of their business is WAY down.

Meltzer was talking about it on LAW. Granted I don't buy half of what Meltzer says, so take it with a grain of salt.

PPV business is at an all time low, TV ratings are WAYYYYYY down and I'm sure attendance is as well. All seems to go hand in hand with the "new, safe WWE Kids" direction they've taken.

There's no compelling storylines, no reason to tune in week after week. Hell, they are still milking the "mystery GM" story because they have no idea how to end it!

Their staff is rapidly approaching retirement with no real grasp of establishing new, exciting talent. They caught lightning in a bottle with Cena... but who else can they bank on?
Jericho, Edge, Taker, Kane, HHH, Mark Henry, Goldust, Regal, Finlay, Big Show, Rey, and even Christian are all within a couple years from retiring from active wrestling.

It's just so ridiculous. They even admitted on conference calls they need to build new talent, but all they do is bury them. I don't know what they think is going to happen. Smackdown is going to be cancelled if their ratings go down, which they most certainly are going to. So that is going to leave them with 1 brand, 1 tv show, and their house show business will be cut in half. They keep insulting their fans, when it is obvious they have all moved on to a more mature product that takes its fans seriously in UFC.

He would sell just as much merch as a heel. Just the adults would buy it instead of the kiddies.

You gotta wonder HOW they can't see what's wrong with the show at this point. All you have to do is sit in front of Raw for 2 hours, you don't need focus testing.
They really don't understand it.
Or the folks that do don't have the balls to tell Vince and Stephanie what's wrong.
Their "ideal fan" is the crazy dude at Hooters who made a spectacle of himself when Cena got pinned last night.
Their primary demographic is the easily duped & mentally handicapped.

Smackdown is already dead. They have a satan worshipper as their top face, the devil's favorite BDSM as their heel and a old man that pretends to be fat. These guys both need to be trapped in hell and never comeback storyline wise. They've single handidly ruined that show.

It's Vince.. he refuses to evolve.

He basically laid the groundwork for UFC's current style and now is being crushed by it.

Seriously, look at the current UFC product. It's a pro wrestling TV structure.

The sad part in all of this is TNA. WWE is right now propbably at the weakest point they've ever been.... and yet TNA has no clue how to capitalize on that and make their own mark.

It's embarassing that the t-shirt sales are all they focus on.

Build a compelling TV product first and the merch will follow.

Don't worry. WWE knows exactly what we need. They already said they are going to be adding more entertainment aspects to the show for us:lol

Yeah. I would've never thought a WWe show would be strictly broadcast on the internet.

And the 1.whatever rating of Smackdown is ridiculous. I remember when the show first came on during the height of the Rock and Stone Cold popularity. It was "cool" to like wrestling. But now it's supplanted by Facebook, reality tv, games, UFC and god knows what else.

It's mainly the stale, nonsensical direction.

But as Meltzer mentioned last week...this is all reminiscent of the early to mid 90s WWF, which was terrible. It's cyclical.

Who needs to take their fans seriously when we have top stars like John Cena, Randy Orton, and.....The Und.....Trip....JOHN CENA BABAY!! Blue merch, Green merch, Purple Merch = RATING$

Squash the US Champ, continuously interrupt Intercontinental Title matches, squash the Tag Team Champions, make the Woman's division an even bigger joke, job the NXT season 2 winner, continuously job the best heel and talker on Smackdown, have the commentator bash young up and comers...WHO CARES?!? WE GOTZ PURPLE CENA SHIRTS TO SELL

Alot of the booking in TNA is horrible, but they still treat their fans better and actually listen to what they want alot of the time. Also, every edition of Impact has atleast one good match and the promos are better most of the time too.

TNA is dead, it doesn't matter.
The main problem the WWE has hit is that there adult audience is gone, it has gone to UFC, they thought they could have both a one time, but now the gave up and only doing the kids.

WWE isn't going no were though, Mexico, China, India, and etc countries it is growing fast then the US and Canada is shrinking. It is kind of sad though that they can't even get channels to cover the WWE anymore

No they listen to the idiots that come ever night and want WCW, ECW and WWF back. The WWE need to evolve to become closer to UFC but with wrestling storytelling. I am talking about promos built around actual fighting. Story built of what happens in a real match, actual people who can wrestle.

Wasn't HEAT strictly internet for a while? It's not the first time they did it.

I can only hope the all time low ratings overall for WWE wakes them the fuck up.

Well.. you're wrong with that first part. They're maintaining their audience stateside while building it abroad. More than can be said for WWE at this point.

Dixie may be a colossal fuckup, but dammit TNA keeps chugging along.

The funniest thing about the Daniel Bryan match was how they cut his entrance and they just show him in the ring with the belt on before the squash, with the little name plate hanging by just one screw off the side:lol Then of course he got destroyed in 20 seconds. They didn't even give him a spot in the #1 contender royale, which you think they would.

Fucking seriously. The only thing that made Vince pull his finger out in the first place was the growing competition from first WCW and then ECW - without anyone nipping at their heels WWE seem content to stay on whatever misguided, potentially ruinous path they've set themselves on.

This is sports entertainment. Part of the rise of WWe in the late 90s was the watering down of the wrestling. As much as I like Rock/Stone Cold, they weren't the best workers. Cena, Orton, Sheamus, etc continue that tradition except they don't have the legendary mic work that could have fans eating out of their hands.

Yes, Dana White has done a good job of marketing his fighters but they'll never be living room names like Hulk Hogan, Rock, Stone Cold, Cena, etc (hence the merchandising). However, they do have the luxury of putting on entertaining fights (especially since it's real).

WWe is the opposite. Only people like Miz, Jericho, CM Punk, Christian and a few others are capable of working a real match.

Sunday Night Heat used to be on TV. I want to say it was on MTV and might have moved somewhere else.

:lol :lol @ the bold, what a sad sight.

It all seemed to be looking up in 2003/2004. We were coming off the Attitude Era with some of the best athletes in Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, HBK was still killing it, Smackdown was incredible with the Heyman booking, John Cena was a super fresh BELIEVABLE character, the Intercontinental Title was respected with RVD/Christian/Orton/Jericho putting on some great matches, The Undertaker was a biker, etc. etc. It's so crap now.

UFCs fighters already ARE living room names. Silva, Lesnar, GSP are all household names.

The PPVs draw MILLION plus buys and sold out arenas. Fuck man, UFC is getting covere in the USA Today sports section now!

But you can't get to the level of WWE talent due to one factor... they're not on TV every week.

I wouldn't say they're household names. Only fans really follow UFC. I don't know who any of those guys are.

It's ridiculous that Randy Orton, the WWE champion and current face of the WWE, gets less than 2 mins of screen time.

And they wonder why the ratings are in the tank.
