Nobody knows yet. I'm expecting CM Punk to be on it instead of Crunk.
Would make for a Solid 5. Sheamus is kind of required to off-set Big Show on SmackDown's side.

I know people on WrestlerGAF like to crap on the Smackdown vs. Raw series, but let's give these guys some credit:

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/112/1125174p1.html

They ARE going in the right direction, and have been for 2 years. WWE Universe sounds like what everyone has wanted for however long it's been, you can download and edit wrestlers, movesets, logos, and finishers, there's a MATCH CREATOR now (yet to be seen how limited it is), create a corner finisher, weapon physics, improved TLC match, improved Hell In A Cell match, more moves than ever, etc. etc. They've put in a LOT of work this year.

The engine as a whole is nowhere close to being perfect, but I won't be surprised if they finally make a game that will break into people's top 3 in the next 2-3 years.

You do not make something good by adding junk on top of junk. They need to redo the game from the ground up, and THEN add feature. They are still masking the limitations of the base game by adding. anding, adding without fixing!

Right now, I am much more hyped for WWE All Stars. It will probably share similar problems, but at least it is a different take on things.

Well, looks like Cena may not be going 100% heel:

The Cena/Nexus storyline is being patterned after Virgil/Ted DiBiase in the 90s, with the idea being that Cena's treatment will have fans begging for him to snap and beat the hell out of Wade Barrett. Apparently creative has an endpoint to the storyline in mind, but aside from that it will probably be booked week-to-week.

Shame! It'd be awesome if Barrett eventually brainwashed him to be a total jerk face. Oh well!

A better angle (imo) would be that over time, (with the start being with Otunga) the Nexus slowly starts to take leadership cues from Cena and Barrett eventually ends up getting screwed over by his guys and the Nexus becomes Cenation.

In that scenario, he will have destroyed the Nexus from within, just in a completely different fashion.

Seems like they are are only going to Cena and Barret left in Nexus at one point, which will lead to another PPV match for Cena's freedom.

That's not a bad idea. At this point, I'll take anything other than Cena eventually gets his revenge in a completely anti-climatic fashion.

But surely if theres any leadership control taken away from Wade to Cena, then WAde could get the GM to fire Cena, if you go with your angle.

Not if it happened at, say a PPV, at which point, the other members of the Nexus would perform an unexpected swerve on Barrett, remove their armbands and show allegiance to Cena.

At that very moment, the Nexus would no longer exist, thereby nullifying his need to be loyal to the Nexus, because for all intents and purposes, they would cease to exist, except for Barrett.

But Barett would still be a member of Nexus though so Cena would still have to follow his rule.

Raw did a 3.3 rating last night.

Pretty nice rebound from last week and almost twice the Smackdown premiere just a few days ago.

Let the GM fire Cena.

Then Vinnie K Mac only has to strut down to the ring and override the GM because he just wants to give the people what they want and it'll 'be good for business'.

Looks like the John Cena edition of Raw consisting of a total of 1 storyline brought everyone right back! MORE MERCH!

Am I the only one here that doesn't get frustrated that Raw doesn't have much wrestling these days? I came to accept it a while ago. If you guys want your WWE wrestling fix, then you're watching the wrong show.

Orton retaining the title = ratings

They just need to not Rawify Smackdown.

Tomoaki Honma vs Abdullah the Butcher - (BJW 12/04/99)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uIX97qO4Rg

Tomoaki Honma takes on Abdullah the Butcher in this Street Fight from BJW's 12/04/99 show.

Watch as Abby no sells damn near everything and does his best to ruin the finish of the match. Featuring a cameo from the Japanese Table :p

Shadow WX vs Tomoaki Honma - (BJW 07/26/98)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25ZdBbwhjpY - 1/2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMHB3q3X1N8 - 2/2

Tomoaki Honma takes on Shadow WX in a violent and bloody Barbedwire Board Deathmatch from BJW's 07/26/98 show. This is a really well worked hardcore match right here, Honma is the perfect foil for WX and they go all over the building in this one.

Shadow WX (c) vs Ryuji Yamakawa (BJW 05/30/99)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLOBKKefUGs - 1/2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOuhkCcAWcU - 2/2

Shadow WX defends the BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Championship against Ryuji Yamakawa in a No-Rope, Barbedwire, Light Tube Board, Flaming Log Deathmatch from BJW's 05/30/99 show.

Insane! No one does hardcore like BJW, and this is about as nutty as a BJW deathmatch gets. There's even a damn flame-thrower.

Jushin Liger vs Mistico - (CMLL 08/17/10)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qLue6LfN6M - 1/2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQm-0P4bWqw - 2/2

Jushin 'Thunder' Liger takes on Mistico from CMLL's 08/17/10 show.

WWE will take those ratings as a sign that The Nexus and Cena need to clog the show even more. Last nights Raw was basically a drama starring The Nexus and Cena with some extras.

People being interested in the Nexus, Cena is not surprising and Orton doesn't draw ratings. I think the WWE found out they need a interesting storyline to draw in fans and the Cena overcoming the odds and squashing people do not. It may sell cena shirts to kids but that all it does.

THQ is getting greedy.

I love how they turned an easy million selling title over the years, into one that struggles to sell half a million, and they still haven't figured out the problem.

No, me too. Although I'm not nearly as big a fan as I use to be, I only recently started watching cause I was channel surfing and caught Smackdown in hd on mynetwork tv (and I don't get Syfy, so...). My cousins use to come over to watch free ppv and I can remember being bored out of my skull during the Hart v. Michaels 1 hour Ironman match. I don't mind brief matches in the slightest.

Don't think I'ma be able to see NXT tonight, but for some reason I am compelled to watch this train wreck of a show. Is it going to be on-demand on the WWE.com website after 10 or will I have to wait for later whenever they put it on their youtube channel?

Reason you were bored is because that is one of the most overrated matches in modern wrestling. It is built up as a classic, but it's really just 60 min of mostly boring stalling.

Isn't that just part of a bigger pack that can be purchased that unlocks everything, and is a "Pre-Order" for the DLC? If that can be unlocked anyway, this isn't a big surprise. EA has been doing this for a while now.

God, they want sooooo bad for Cena to fill the void left by the Rock. His knuckle move is basically The People's Elbow and the "Attitude Adjustment is basically the Rock Bottom. The STF(U) is an extra special move they gave him, just to "mix things up". Am I the only guy that feels that way?

(Sorry if this has been covered ad nausem here--I just got back into watching wrasslin' recently)

Cena is playing hulk hogans role on the roster you could argue the miz has rock promos

I'm working my way through all of WWF's 'In Your House' PPV's at the moment, up to IYH5; Seasons Beatings - for most of these early ones it's the first time i've seen them since around the time they aired, and while there's some cool matches, there's also a whole load of awful ones too and the WWF roster was filled with so many worthless wrestlers and/or characters, case in point;

Dean Douglas - I totally don't remember this at all, Shane Douglas, in the WWF, with ugly-ass ring gear and some dumb College Dean gimmick. Ugh.
Hakushi - WCW has the Great Muta! We need a mysterious Asian guy, too! Hakushi was never bad in the ring, but the gimmick was rather silly, especially with Vince on commentary talking about his tattoos, most of which have half rubbed off during the match.
Jean Pierre Lafitte - Hey look! It's the Mountie's tag partner Pierre, except now he's a New Orleans pirate. Ok. :lol
Jeff Jarret - was Jarret EVER not totally god-damn boring? Pretty funny seeing pre-Road Dogg Jesse James, aka 'The Roadie'.
Marty Jannetty - he was never going to survive without Michaels, but that ring gear REALLY didn't help.
Men on a Mission - King Mabel & Sir Mo, awful wrestlers, worst ring gear ever.

On the flip side, there's a bunch of good matches - Diesel vs Sid, Yokozuna & Owen vs Luger & Davey Boy (everytime Bulldog & Owen are in the ring together, it's golden), Diesel & Shawn vs Yokozuna & Bulldog, Bigelow vs Bulldog, Bret vs Bulldog, etc - even so, I can't wait until Austin & Foley start showing up and I get to the attitude era shows

My guess:

Team Raw:
Miz
Sheamus
Jomo
Punk
Tarver (eh, why not)

Team Smackdown:
Edge
Show
Swagger
Kofi
Rey

Team Nexus:
Cena
Wendy
Otunga
Gabriel
Genesis

Yeah, it's called the Madden mirror. Add in a bunch of shit that is suppose to hide the fact that the core gameplay still remains shitty and unchanged from the N64 days. It's going to be the same game 2-3 years from now with the same lackluster sales. Oh well, since the current product is meh it's nice they make sure the games reflect that too.

THOSE AWESOME LYRICS:

M to the M to the M to the O
GOT MY BOY AND HIS NAME IS MO
MO IS FAST AND IS NOT SLOW
HIS NAME'S MO AND HIS NAME'S NOT JOE
HE KICK BUTT WITH NO DELAY
THERE'S NOT A WRESTLER HE CAN'T SLAY
SLAM HIM, BAG HIM, THEN HE PIN HIM, PICK HIM UP AND THEN HE SPIN HIM

Smackdown vs. Raw is still one of THQ's more successful IPs right now. Obviously it's selling well, otherwise they wouldn't be branching out with new games like Legends of Wrestlemania and All-Stars. Speaking of SvR...IGN put a new slobbering promo up. Same guy as always loving the game and faking his distrust each year. But there's one interesting piece:

I don't think that'll be the case this year as the Royal Rumble is going online for the first time ever. Yes, now you and 11 others can pop online and face off in one of the cornerstones of Sports Entertainment. After fooling around with the mode for a night, I can tell you the addition of human opponents using tactics and button-tapping skills makes the Rumble a lot more entertaining. Now, only six people can be in the ring at a time (This is for all online modes – yes, you can have six-player normal matches this time around), but when the other six are spectating, quizzes (Who will be the next to enter? Who will be eliminated next?) pop up to keep them involved.
The most exciting part about this is SIX-MAN MATCHES. Thank you fucking Jesus, THQ! Striker and I have been asking for that for three fucking years. Now they just need to fix their fucking shit so Penguin can join us.

Full preview

Regarding that IGN preview, they say the same shit every year. They are getting kickbacks from THQ to talk good about the game. They will improve the game until PS4 and Xbox 3 comes out, then they will rip out everything from the game and release a barebones one, then add a couple of features every year again. They do the same shit every time.

Le sigh...

SvR '07 was the most feature-packed game up until '10. PPV creator, arena creator, CAW, GM mode, career mode with many different storylines, huge fucking roster complete with a shitton of legends. If anything, they've gone downhill with features this generation.
