If I knew that I would have a top wrestling promotion

DX, NWO, all the good groups were unique and new for their time... something new that resonates with today's audience. Not something that TNA will tell us is "HISTORY IN THE MAKING", when it is really not.

The building the ppv is in tonight is the one where Hogan did his heel turn in 96:lol
Well, it would only be appropriate then. :lol

So are they gonna potentially have two major heel groups/stables running amuck?

Will they even half fill it?

8k for wrestling according to Wiki.

They should be able to. Usually TNA does pretty well when they get out of Orlando for ppvs. They'll probably paper around 1k seats also. Only a few hours left. I'm surprised nothing has leaked from backstage yet.

Well when I went to BFG 06 they had the Compuware Arena over capacity.... so they are capable of drawing to smaller venues.

They need to focus on the cities that WWE ignores for not being "big enough".

Hmm after Vince Russo got his face on Reaction last week, I'm wondering if he is going to be part of "THEY" also and they just did that to refresh people's memories of him.

I think the new direction that TNA is going in is that from now on they are going to completely break kayfabe. TNA is going to be a lot more meta, where THEY are creative team.

I remember Mickie James. as Alexis Laree, sitting with Dusty Rodes and some other Knockout, on a hay-bale, on the back of some truck in 2004ish when she was first in TNA...

I think Dusty was the GM or something back then

...who the hell was that other girl?

Traci Brooks?

I was thinking of a fourth wall type gimmick thing too, but their writers are not remotely clever enough to pull it off.

Alexis vs Trinity(what happened to her?)

Wiki says WWE pissed her off, and she went back to doing stuntwork... I totally forget her WWE (ECW) run... I am sure I watched those shows back then, but I am drawing a blank

That wasn't Mickie, that was Trinity and Traci Brooks and Johnny Fairplay. :lol

I'm really looking forward to the ppv tonight. The card looks pretty solid from a wrestling standpoint and the reveal of "they" should be entertaining good or bad. The EV 2.0 match should produce a botchamania's worth of material so if you weren't going to watch there's your reason right there.

My predictions for tonight.

Tag Team Title: Motor City Machineguns vs. Generation Me
Knockouts Title: Angelina Love vs. Velvet Sky vs. Madison Rayne vs. Tara
Tag Team Match: Eric Young & Orlando Jordan vs. Ink Inc.
Handicap Match: Sting, Kevin Nash & The Pope vs. Jeff Jarrett & Samoa Joe
X Division Title: Douglas Williams vs. Jay Lethal
Monster's Ball: Rob Van Dam vs. "The Monster" Abyss
Lethal Lockdown: Fourtune vs. EV2.0
Triple Threat For TNA World Heavyweight Title: Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Jeff Hardy

I really want Anderson to win the title but Angle has that stupid stipulation.

Team 3D's announcement is for another Team 3D invitational.

"They" will be revealed as....just Eric Bischoff who will "fire" Hogan, Dixie, and Russo once we learn Dixie signed over the company to him.

Nothing coming from backstage means there probably won't be any surprise debuts tonight:/

If it is something brand spanking new then it will be hidden bigtime... TNA was able to keep Angle secret until they played the video, so should be able to do something here... although keeping a whole person/people secret backstage is probably much harder :lol

Yeah the biggest secret recently was from the 1/4/10 show with Flair. Even then it was reported that he was at the airport there before he showed up. Unless they keep the person from showing up at the arena until right before the show, nothing can be kept secret anymore.

I am starting to hope this is something decent for TNA... they had a great rating recently for IMPACT, which might lead to some decent buyrate tonight, which then should lead to them getting back on track if the reveal is worthwhile

Trainwreck does seem more likely though, as Dixie seems more out of touch than Vince - she was never in touch to begin with :/

WCW did this with the "powers that be." Turned out to be Vince Russo and the creative team.

Yeah, I hold out hope that it is something decent, because I don't want WWE to be the only wrestling company out there, but they fuck up time and time again. If THEY turns out to be Hogan and Bischoff like everyone expects it is just another fuck up for the company honestly.

For the smarks, yes. But what about everyone else? Who in the company, or even in free agency, would have the impact that those three would have? It's predictable simply because it makes the most sense from the standpoint of being a big switch. As much as everyone wants the AAA guys to be "THEM," it'd be horrible for TNA because everyone would be like "who the fuck are these guys?" The hype build up has been great for TNA, but the booking has been absolutely horrible for it to be Hogan, Bischoff and Angle.

Do marks care about Bischoff and Hogan in 2010? No. They are going to redo an angle from 14 years ago, without what made that angle so hot in the surprise of Hall and Nash coming to WCW from WWF in their prime when they were two of the top guys in WWF. What is Hogan and Bischoff running a retread going to do to increase ratings? How is this going to get new viewers that aren't watching wrestling now to tune in?

This thread seems to be moving a lot right now. We spoilers released or what?

We are just speculating... which is something TNA has never made Wrassle-GAF do before - that is amazing in itself!

Now it is up to TNA to use that bit of momentum they put together

The hell made Dixie want to show up on TV and have more of a role on screen? I remember her being adamant on not doing the same thing Vince did as an on screen character and low and behold she's on screen.

Not that I'm complaining. She's a MILF.

It probably will be Hulk and the rest of his cronies as THEY. Lamest story line ever, but it is garnering attention amongst internet fans and casual fans alike. As long as it means no more Abyss sexually gratifying himself on TV, I am game.

Honestly, if THEY are AAA stars, it could have the same effect. Building up people that the average fan is not used through to some sort of a vicious beat down. Of course it won't have the star power that Hulk/etc would have, but if I were the average wrestling fan, I'd be freaked out to see RVD/EV2.0/etc get beat down by random cohorts that I've never seen before 'till then.

At any rate, we'll see.

Dixie just tweeted

" Great night. Awesome set. Biggest PPV in our history. Bound For Glory. Truly. 1 minute ago via Echofon "

We will see Dixie. I hope they do deliver.

No, just rabid THEY speculation... which is a good sign for TNA. I'm with Keyser, I want this to be a success for them because they have always shown flashes of potential, which always brings me back. I hope, for their sake, this reveal is worthwhile.

your thinking with common sense about people who have shown not to have any

Russo and other probably told her it would help ratings, but they gave her some true shit to work with though. Sadly, she has now been on TV too much to make any great impact if they give her a good storyline in the future.

If she stayed backstage until now, and came out to confront THEM, it would have been nice, and would have shown that THEM (whoever they are) was a big deal she had to confront.

Hopefully once it is revealed she signed over the company to Bischoff she stays off tv forever.

I think that is her story, but the reality of it is ego.
She (or at least her husband and family ) is the money, she wants to be a star like Vince and wants the recognition.

For me this is kind of a make or break pay per view for TNA. I don't watch WWE, I went without watching any wrestling from the time ECW folded and WCW and WWE merged. I tried WWE through the Invasion angle but there has always been something about the WWF I could not get into. I had heard of TNA and their weekly pay per views but I never watched the product until I found it on Fox Sports Net. Although it wasn't perfect there were some old school guys working for them I liked and I really appreciated the X Division. This was the first time I had seen guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Amazing Red, Low Ki, Kazarian, etc.. So I'm kind of a loyalist (masochist) and I've stuck with the product ever since. I don't know if I can do it anymore.

Guys I like never seem to stick around or get used properly other than AJ. How could this company not use Christopher Daniels and what the fuck are they doing with Samoa Joe? The focus has shifted so far away from wrestling and it would be somewhat exceptable if all the promos and angles made sense. It's just rehashed angles from 10 years ago trying to create buzz. So we have a new 4 horsemen, a new ECW, a new wolfpac, a new NWO type angle tonight most likely. What the hell is the Samoa Joe/Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting/Nash/Pope match about tonight? How can Abyss torture and kidnap and not end up in handcuffs. Why are they pushing a drug dealer deadbeat just cause he has heat with preteen girls (who scream throught the entire PPV?!?!)
