Another thing that makes no sense is Abyss kept saying "THEY are coming". I had to hear that shit for 5 months, but all those guys last night were already there. Noone new to TNA was introduced.

And Abyss and Hogan were already together for a while and Jeff was cool with them. Makes no sense.
 
I watch TNA like I watch Tim and Eric or something, it's just wackiness for the sake of wackiness. Some dudes will do flips, others will bleed. Some will turn face, some will turn heel. Hated foes will form an alliance and best friends will become hated foes. This is all one show, BTW. Going in with the right frame of mind makes TNA very entertaining. TNA will never become a threat to WWE, but if they keep their 1.0, they will be around forever.
 
Holy shit @ the time line laid out by DKehoe. Now this THEY story line makes even LESS sense than it already does.

As for Matt Hardy, I really hope that he is getting the professional help that he deserves or that he will soon. He's focusing way too much on how everyone perceives him. He's done this before -- during the whole Lita thing, and I was behind him at the time.

Even Lita, who was asked in an interview about Hardy, is quoted as asking, "What happened to that guy?" It's almost like watching a little kid who was reprimanded and after being punished by his parents creates a super-hero alter ego to boost his morale and keep himself from sadness. I haven't watched all of his YouTube videos, nor do I really want to, but they seem to all follow this theme.

Hardy's gotten into shape. The messages given to him to lose weight really got to him, and I am pleased he did something about it (I am hoping he did shape up in a healthy way, though). Matt was actually my favorite Hardy. I felt Jeff was too flashy and loved Matt during the V1 era -- even during Hardy Boyz regular tag matches. I hope, for Matt's sake, that he does take things down a notch. I'd really hate to wake up to read that he unfortunately took his life amidst all this...

This and Hogan actually hobbling to the ring were the only things that shocked me. I would have sworn it would be Ken (just living up to his nickname) or Kurt (title and career were THAT important to him), but never fathomed Jeff getting the belt.

Thinking over this again ... as out of leftfield the whole THEY storyline and reveal last night seemed, I think it actually makes a lot of sense in the context of their storylines. It might not explain every little thing that has happened since January, but it does a good job of tying many loose ends together. Lets look at a rough outline of events for this year (this is off the top of my head, so I could be mixing things up as to the order things happened in the timeline):
- Dixie brings in Hogan and Bischoff to TNA.
- Nash joins up with Hogan, only to distance himself from him soon after.
- Jarrett starts fighting with Bischoff over his control in the company.
- Sting reappears with his anti-Bischoff/Hogan message. Nash joins him eventually.
- Jarrett all a suddenly is cool with Bischoff/Hogan.
- Abyss is built up as Hulk Jr.
- RVD beats Jeff Hardy on a live Impact and ends the night winning the title from AJ.
- Abyss turns on Hogan to become a monster again. Proclaiming THEY are coming and herlding their arrival.
- Abyss takes out RVD.
- Joe gets suckered into the fight by Jarrett to fight with him vs Sting/Nash. Joe agrees because Hogan asks him to do so.
- Bischoff and Hogan set up Angle vs Abyss in the cage match a few weeks ago.
- Abyss attacks Dixie the Impact before the PPV and so Bischoff has her sign Abyss's release form.

Lets break things down now:
- At some point Jarrett got into cahoots with Bischoff and Hogan to take control of the company away from Dixie, place Jeff Hardy as their choosen champion and make Abyss their monster.
- Nash left Hogan's side and joined Sting because he saw what Hogan was up to.
- AJ is aligned with Flair, who has bad blood w/ Hogan and Bischoff in the past, so they tried to get the belt off him with Abyss.
- When that failed they tried to put Hardy in that position, but RVD beat him and won the belt instead.
- Abyss left Hogan's side to turn into a monster because he was told to do so, and the Hogan vs Abyss stuff was done to pull the wool over everyones eyes.
- Abyss takes out RVD to open the door for Hardy to get the belt.
- Joe could be a potential threat to Hardy getting the belt, so he gots manipulated into fighting for THEY against Sting & Nash (who in retrospect where right all along).
- Against Dixie's wishes, Bischoff fought to make the title match a 3 way to ensure Jeff was part of it, despite the draw last month.
- Angle was led to believe he was in the cage match to take out Abyss, when really he was in the match to be weakened by Abyss before the PPV.
- Dixie most likely signed away her control in the company, so now Hogan/Bischoff/Jeff are completely in charge.

Did this whole thing need to be built up for most of the year? Probably not, but in some twisted way it does make sense and this IS the first time since he really became a star that Jeff Hardy is be a heel so it is something different and could be interesting to watch going forward. Plus, heel Hardy vs RVD, Joe, Pope, and Angle are all ready made feuds for the belt coming off this whole deal.

Had a convo with a friend about it, and had some time to kill before my class tonight :lol .

Tho seriously, I am willing to give this whole thing a shot. Who knows too, they could eventually bring in the AAA people as rumored and just have them be others in the group, probably going after the X-Div, TV, and Tag titles or something similar. I actually like the direction the company is going forward with match wise:
Hardy has lots of feuds he could do, and him being a heel gives them a fresh coat of paint.
Tara vs Mickie should be good.
MCMG vs 3D should be solid.
Lethal vs Rob Eckos could be fun matches (with probably stupid angles tho).

Only thing I'm unsure of is what is going to happen to Fortune now. THEY = new top heel group and EV 2 feud seems to be over.
 
Wouldn't it make more sense to bring JWow in when these Jersey Shore rejects are more established? They just debuted. Why should anybody even give a fuck that JWow's coming in for some crappy segment with them?

They chose horrible people for the angle. All Robbie E says is bro and my dude over and over. The whole charm of Jersey Shore is a bunch of friends that go out every night and party and have fun and get in funny situations. No matter how much they try to shove this down our throat it won't work. Live crowd has chanted BORING both times they came out. Also, all this does is remind people that Jersey Shore is on at the exact same time on another channel. It is ridiculous they are paying a woman 15k to appear when alot of people on their roster don't make 15k a year.

If TNA would use Reaction to explain this it would help out a lot. I honestly think you've put more thought into it, off the top of your head then Russo and Company have.

It seems pretty apparent that they started this angle with no clue as to who "THEY" were going to be. This would have been better if they would have gotten some ex WWE dudes, have Jeff Hardy and Abyss be the inside guys, and NOT have Bischoff, Jarrett, or Hogan involved. Now we are stuck with Bischoff, Jarrett, and Hogan stinking up our tv's more with their garbage.

Agreed. I think they did this before the Hardcore Justice PPV too. They just assumed by this point they would be able to get Paul Heyman and use his arrival as "they" but since nothing developed they just wing it.

TNA does this a lot starting an angle with no idea where they want to go with it so it eventually gets dropped, my favorite being Jackie Gayda when TNA was new on Spike. Jackie had a "secret" about Jeff Jarrett that she was using to get a spot on the roster. Jarrett has Alex Shelley secretly video tape her and comes up with some blackmail. So Jackie has to obey Jarrett and be in his stable Planet Jarrett. The secret and the blackmail are referenced constantly but eventually is just dropped.
 
Huh. I was expecting the Nexus. Not really, but that's really the only way they could have fulfilled the fuss they'd built up around the angle, isn't it?

April 19th x2 - Rob Van Dam defeats AJ Styles for the World Title. Hogan and Bischoff celebrate RVD's victory.

June 13th - Jeff Jarrett screws Sting, helping Rob Van Dam retain the title at Slammiversary VIII

Sep 5th - In the tournament semi-final, Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle wrestle to a 30-minute draw. After 20 minutes, instead of Bischoff automatically putting Hardy and Angle into the main event at Bound for Glory, he gives them 5 more minutes. And then another 5. At the end of the first and second match stoppages, Hardy was in clear danger of losing to the ankle lock. If their master plan was to get Hardy the title through this tournament, why did Bischoff continue to put Hardy in a direct path to failure? Why have this tournament in the first place, putting a lot of faith in Jeff Hardy to make it past Rob Terry and Kurt Angle (career on the line) with no interference?

When you have ICP saying Russo's storyline sucks, you need a new booker.
 
ICP has been involved a few times with TNA iirc. I THINK the most recent was when they were in the crowd randomly with Scott Hall on a PPV to "build hype" for a JCW show they were doing.
