I made a big ass post about it before. It makes a lot of sense when looking at stuff that has happened this year. I haven't watched Reaction yet tonight (will do so later) but there are also a lot of unexplainable things that have happened along the way as well. Overall tho, I think they did a good job with trying to tie things all together.

I agree. TNA often throws shit out there and expects you to know the inside details or put something together on your own to try and make sense of it, but you really have to explain things so your whole audience knows exactly what you're trying to get across with your program and I feel they've done a helluva job with that on tonight's Reaction show.

So were you guys not entertained? I thought it was a good show, but I got the chance to watch it without commercial breaks so maybe that made things better? Faces gotta get beat down for a few weeks to make heels look dominant and gain some heat. That is the problem with alot of the shit WWE does like Nexus at the beginning. I really liked the direction of tonight's show and made me excited to see what happens next.

I missed the first 30 minutes, but I agree. I thought it was a good show and made me want to see what happens next. Heck, I even have hope the Knock-outs div will improve after tonight as well.

lol @ Dixie Carter's name in the credits as executive producer when the whole hour was about her losing her ownership

Wasn't a big improvement IMO. Sure there was more wrestling, but not a lot more, and they seem to have no concept of SPACING OUT the promos so we aren't having 30 minutes of em after every 5 minutes of wrestling. Actually, I don't even understand WHY they have so many promos on Impact to begin with when that's what REACTION should be taking care of. I used to really like watching Reaction, but TNA has been so promo heavy the past few weeks, I'm burnt out by the time it rolls around now.

I don't mind them doing more story, because it will make the matches hopefully mean more on the ppv. Shit in the old days all we got were promos, recaps, and short little jobber matches. They probably should just make Impact 3 hours and get rid of Reaction, but that would be impossible with their current taping schedule. For some reason about half of the Impact audience tunes out and doesn't watch Reaction right now based on ratings. I like the storylines in TNA right now alot, except for the Shore gimmick. Shit, even Jarrett was entertaining tonight. I like how they seem to be elevating Joe and Pope also in this feud.

But you can do story IN THE RING, and keep the segments separated to give them some room to breathe. As it is right now, they start the show with an in-ring promo, immediately go backstage, commercial break, more backstage, commercial break, MORE promos, then finally a match...that's ridiculous.

If they kept the backstage promos short and raw, spaced them out, and did more storytelling IN THE RING, iMPACT would be a better show IMO.

I think this is why I'm willing to endure some beat downs of the faces, but I'm really hoping that there is some worthwhile ending at the next pay per view that shows the faces can stand up to the heels. At the moment, though, I'm not too sure if TNA is capable of following up on this.

Yeah the storytelling during matches should be better, but Mike Tenay and Taz are horrible at getting stuff over. They need to replace Tenay especially. Also, I wouldn't expect to get payoff and have the faces win at this ppv. Should have the heels win for a couple of months. Shit, if they are doing Anderson vs Jeff at the ppv, they could have Anderson almost win the belt, but Matt Hardy runs down, costs him the match and joins his brother. That would get people to tune in Thursday and have some buzz going about the show. In fact, I wouldn't have a face win back the world title for atleast 5 or 6 months. I'd let Jeff hold it.

The problem with these type of stables is they always put the booking in a hamster wheel, waiting for the peak before the fall, and they always miss the peak(understandably. Measuring a program is pretty difficult)

The Pope/Joe won't put them down. They will fall from the inside like they always do, and no one will get over.

Edit: Maybe I'm being to pessimistic. This Impact was an improvement.

They don't necessarily NEED Tenay and Taz to get the stories over though. TNA has some top notch talent, and should let the talent do what they do out there.

Another problem I've had with TNA for a LONG time is that they move too damn fast. When they have an Immortal/Fortune/Dixie promo EVERY SINGLE TIME there's a break in the wrestling, and have them interfere in EVERY match, not only does that rush the story along at too quick of a pace, but it also eats up time that OTHER feuds could be using to develop. What happened to the X Division? What happened to the great Tag Title feuds we were having 4 months ago? Where is ANYTHING not involved with the Immortal/Dixie storyline? TNA isn't alone in this either as Raw has become the Cena/Nexus Power Hour in recent months. They need to give these feuds TIME to breathe instead of hitting us over the head with them for 2 hours every week.

EDIT: Take last week for example. They squeezed probably 3 weeks worth of Immortal/Dixie material into Impact and Reaction. There was no need for the BARRAGE of promos like TNA only had 1 week to get this thing moving. This is built to last at least 6 months before the huge blow off match, why do they need to kill all their other angles to get it across?

Well Bischoff says they have this thing booked out for the next 6 months, so let's see what happens. Maybe this show was alot better because no Hogan, Nash, Sting on it?

Well they have continued the Gen Me/MCMG, Tara/Madison/Mickie feud, and Robbie E/Jay Lethal feuds tonight and those aren't in the main angle. It does seem like the focus has gotten away from some of the great X division wrestling recently though. They should probably just make Impact 3 hours to allow more undercard feuds to develop. Most of the main angles have to deal with Immortal somehow now, because Bischoff and Hogan supposedly run the company.

Come ooooooonnnnn son. A 4 minute squash match, and a 1 minute promo is not a good way to keep a feud rolling with Lethal/Robbie, and Gen Me/MCMG respectively. Not to mention it seems like Robbie is beefing with the Shore more than Lethal anyway. I understand that a big part of the main even players will be sucked into the Immortal/Dixie feud especially since they've managed to shoehorn Fortune on to the Immortal side of things, but they have MORE than enough time to continue other feuds if they weren't so focused on having an Immortal promo every 5 minutes. That type of oversaturation is the same thing that turned the NWO from a cool group into a flustercuck of nonsense.

Nah, thing that killed NWO was all the spinoff groups and everyone joining. Let's see how things pan out in the next few weeks. I'm sure other feuds will start getting more air time. Also Dixie tweeted about her name in the credits:lol

"See how stupid THEY are RT @Bunz62 @EBischoff if u wanted to truly "sell" what ur doin then maybe take@TNADixie off Reaction ending credits less than 20 seconds ago via Echofon "

Hmmmm, I didn't look at the spoilers but the match listing for SD tonight has me intregued.

- WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. World Champion Kane.
- Edge vs. CM Punk.
- The Miz, Ezekiel Jackson & Sheamus vs. Big Show, Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston.
- John Morrison vs. Alberto Del Rio.
- Santino Marella vs. Jack Swagger.
- Natalya & Kelly Kelly vs. LayCool.

Could be good ... however with the PPV in 2 days idk if any of those will get significant time or focus. Edge-Punk and JoMo-ADR could both be really good if given time.

Damn I forgot the PPV was in two days. I thought they were doing a good job of building the big elimination match, but I was sure they had another week left.

The multiple PPVs in the past few weeks have killed loads of decent feuds :/

At least the two upcoming PPVs get a whole month of build up, and the the Royal Rumble will get 5 weeks. Well, I think it will, depending on what they do around Xmas/New Year. With Christmas falling on a Saturday I guess they could keep Raw going on Mondays.

Yeah -- this PPV is going to totally bomb for a TON of reasons:

1) It's coming so soon after Night of Champions (was it NoC? See! This is the problem!) that most of feuds are either recycled or thrown together at the last minute (Bryan/Ziggler).

2) WWE is in SAVE LINDA-MODE, so the WWE website and programming has been promoting their bullshit political agenda for the past week

3) The UFC PPV featuring Brock Lesnar is on Saturday. And that shit is expecting to get KILLER buyrates

Am I missing anything else?

I think we're talking nuclear-level bomb here. :lol

I love how after this kind of thing, jeff is still a great worker on the ring, so safe to work with, and anderson is an injury prone piss of shit for internet smarks:lol

Hardy is actually often dangerous on the ring (remember mercury ??), but nobody gives a shit.
To be fair, Mercury was the one who botched that move. All Jeff did was jump on a ladder, hitting both Mercury and Matt at the same time. Matt bumped correctly. Mercury decided to stop the ladder with his nose.

I watched it and I can say it was enjoyable. The main event between Orton and Kane is surprisingly good.

Let's say he can be pretty generous in his moves. I guess Mercury was actually surprised by the speed of the ladder, and even with that, the idea of the spot was dangerous in first place. Hardy is a risk taker after all, but that means risks for the other guy to.

with the actually wwf logo?

I'm not sure how the licensing works, but they are allowed to use the old school block logo freely, but always have to blur out the Attitude, scratch logo for some reason.

What happened to the old attitude era of WWE? This new stuff is so boring. After every SD/Raw I just end up watching old matches on youtube to get my wrasslin fix. :/

I'm curious when you go back and watch the old days, do you check out like the JOB Squad or the Oddities or DoA, Los Boricuas?

I mean.. and sure some people enjoyed them, but there was just as much crap back then as well.

Everyone thinks Attitude, they think Austin, Rock, DX, and they forget the other I guess 90 minutes of the shows.

What did happen though.... I watched it all and I don't really remember what went so wrong :/

There never really was a solid pinpoint where things went down hill... it was just a selection of bad decision and unfortunate incidences

Maybe I am condensing things, but I think The Rock, Stone Cold both left very close to each other, and Triple H also has his first big quad injury. In the same period, I think Brock decided he wanted to leave, and at the time he was the one big wrestler they were pushing huge at the time.

Benoit and Eddie kinda got their hands on the belts around the same time, but they were never really pushing anyone new until Cena came along... then they push Batista and Orton

They also went though a period of bringing people in a for a few months, and then tossing them aside... Nash, Steiner and Goldberg

Other than Orton, Batista and Cena, I think there was a period of 5+ years where they failed at solidly debuting and making their own new big stars (Kennedy, Jeff all kinda failed lately too... MVP never past US title) - that was the biggest problem.

Things are kinda looking better now though. Miz is doing great, and deserved a push for stuff he did over the last few years. Wade Barret is pretty much main event stuff, and that took just 5 short months. Punk can still be main event, as is hated enough as a heel to make it, and Sheamus got over as a decent heel over the course of a year... they are all heels though, If they could get a new face over it would help big time

I remember Crash Holly defending the hardcore title 24/7, Hardy/Dudley TLC matches and Big Show riding his father's casket like a boogie board around a cemetery. 5 second poses, Kurt Angle trolling sports teams, INDEED... These all happened in the Attitude era by midcarders. Just because it wasn't the main event doesn't mean it wasn't entertaining.

Thea Vidale, who played Shelton Benjamin's "Momma" in WWE, was a guest on Howard Stern today. They discussed the angle and when asked, she said that she would have slept with Vince McMahon if he'd wanted to. She said she got "turned on" when Vince pulled down his pants for one of the "Kiss my Ass" segments.

The WWE is releasing a new line of merchandise called WWE Old School. The December 2010 issue of WWE Magazine has a quick feature on it:

wm3b.jpg

Full-size image: http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/8844/wm3g.jpg

Hats are $24.99, T-shirts are $27.99, Male long sleeve is $29.99, women's long sleeve is $32.99, and the hoodie is $69.99. The link for this merchandise is http://www.wweshop.com/holiday, but it's not functional yet.

I'll be buying that WCW t-shirt ASAP. :D

That's cool. I always wanted one of those shirts that said on the front "No guns, no knives" then on the back "Just chairs". That shirt was in the Attitude Era so it'll never come back :(

That's so weird. I was just cleaning out some drawers the other day and found my old wrestling shirts. HBK shirt from 96, DX Army shirt from 98, and a WCW roster shirt from 98. Good times back then.
