Eve Valkyrie is only free for pre-orders I think. You'll have to buy it full price soon.
Lucky's Tale is free with the Rift for the foreseeable future though.

I'm very much looking forward to folks impressions. Great OP by the way.

Wow, it's finally here. Should be getting mine today or tomorrow and I'm excited to try it out even though I know my older PC will probably not be good enough for most stuff.

Man if I wasn't getting laid off in 2 weeks this thread would probably be enough to make me to just buy one right now. PSVR is just so far away...

Back in 2005/2006 I talked about the coming VR revolution and nobody believed I knew what I was talking about. VR has been a huge passion of mine and I am glad to see a dream of mine realized.

Let us gaze into the future of entertainment and finally live our greatest dreams and our greatest mightmares!

Will these all work on the DK2 if I didn't spring for the release version yet?

edit: Read the Op, guess we'll see.

You are...THE PROPHET

FYI, KS backers should start receiving them tomorrow. Normal pre orders don't ship until Wednesday and should be getting to homes this week (I'm betting Friday for most).

Thats from Palmer on Twitter shortly ago. If plans change he will let us know.

Cool OT, but the header images are a bit rough with the superior dark theme.

I was this close to backing the Kickstarter at a headset tier, but ended up just putting a few dollars in to get updates from them. So many regrets!
NDA ends sometime in the morning Pacific Time
Giant Bomb is doing a stream starting at 7AM Pacific Time, I'd expect all embargoes to drop at that time.

This interests me.

I'm not in the market for a Rift yet, but I do like Gunjack on my Gear/S7 Edge. Plus Valk is going to be available at launch for the PSVR which I have pre-ordered via Amazon.

Man, I'm so excited. I really wish they kinda stated that March 28th was the shipping date and not the launch date, it's been an unbearable weekend waiting for shipping info and then finally being told at the 11th hour that shipping for preorders will be Wednesday. Too bad I can't just head over to the Oculus HQ after work and just pick one up.

Anyways, bring on the Rift! Also, where are you guys selling your DK2s? I'm thinking of selling mine since I doubt I'll ever use it after my CV1 shows up later this week.

OMG I forgot dark was a thing. So sorry to everyone who uses it. I hope you can all deal with it for now. I gotta go to bed.

Is the Xbox one controller required for some games or can you use an existing 360 controller if you have one already in use?

There isn't really any special connection between the Rift and the controller. It's just included because.....reasons.

Both work fine. Technically any XInput device will work.

Since you get the free xbox one controller i dont know why you wouldn't use it. IMO the updated revision made it superior in every way.

Don't you need a dongle to use it wireless with a PC though ? It doesn't seem to be included in the box.
Random question : I guess the CV1 is now the best option for Rift developers ? Is there no downside to it for not being a dev kit ?

Anyone have box measurements? I'll be transporting it on a plane as I did with DK2 (which seems fatter but narrorower)?

I was really hoping to have mine today, sadly that doesn't seem to be happening. I'll be very disappointed if I don't receive it by weeks end, and it I don't get it till after my Vive comes then I'll be salty.

I think there are a few already released games that will release their VR update for the Rift today, coinciding with the launch.

I imagine there will be though this is the first time Into the Dead has been released on PC.

We are also adding VR support into our game on Steam Early Access, Breakneck http://store.steampowered.com/app/432940/ though we are waiting to get our hands on a Vive to add support for that too, so that update is probably 6-8 weeks away.
