Avatar editor seems to be enabled now by default in Oculus Home. If you look up in the upper right above your friends list you'll see a floating version of your current avatar and you can jump into the editor up there.

One more day!

Tested Review. I haven't had a chance to watch it. Sorry for the reddit link.
I just watched it, actual direct video is at https://youtu.be/C7iJWO7Q_Uk. Great review (Tested is always very thorough). They were very positive about Oculus Touch in everything, from hardware to software, except for the work it takes to set it up, since it requires extra USB ports and extension cables and potentially a third sensor and whatnot. They did repeat Oculus' point about room scale requiring a third sensor, though they never actually said why the 360-degree setup wasn't considered room scale (my experiments with just the headset give me full room scale walking around with only one camera, but of course I don't have to worry about controller occlusion there).

Just got the email from Best Buy saying that my Touch is ready for pickup tomorrow! Super excited to finally "complete" my Rift. Demoed the controllers at the store already, they're fantastic.

Does it still require USB 3.0?

Does it still require USB 3.0?

What Oculus is recommending is that if you have one or two camera sensors, put them on USB 3.0. If you have three camera sensors, put one of them on USB 2.0 so you don't max out the bandwidth of your USB 3 controller. If you have a wimpy system (below the old minimum of a GTX 970 for example) and just one camera sensor, go ahead and use USB 2.0 because their Asynchronous Space Warp makes everything run at only 45fps anyways.

The usual suspects, UploadVR and RoadToVR, have reviews up for the controllers and some of the games.

Kotaku has a review up as well. I dare someone to post that as a topic here with the same title .
Heh - that was basically what the Tested guys concluded, that other than the setup issues they liked the Rift with Touch better than Vive with wands.

Still nothing from Oculus. Dude, I preordered within 1 minute of preorders opening up, and I live in the US! Come on, now.

Also ordered directly from Oculus and I'm not seeing any update to my shipping information. I should have just bought from Amazon or Best Buy.

I ordered in Canada from Oculus and Amazon and cancelled my Amazon order a few weeks ago because I am a fool.

So while I wait, does anyone know how Superhot Kickstarter backers can get the VR edition?

Have you been charged yet? If so try going to UPS and sign up for MyUPS - with that service you can see all shipments going to you, and I was able to see my Touch shipment before Oculus told me it had shipped.

The content floodgates are opening.

Oculus Touch Launch Bundle for $89.99. Includes:
Space Pirate Trainer
I Expect You To Die
Kingspray
SuperHOT VR
The Climb

Also, from the Ripcoil store page:
This item is not currently available for purchase and is offered only via a limited time promotion. To get early access, make any purchase on the store and get this item for FREE.

Supposedly the Bullet Train demo is available for free on the store.

Got mine. Haven't set them up, but they are incredibly comfortable as expected. I forgot how good Oculus are at packaging. No cable ties, no bags, no sticky clear plastic.

Re: shipping...

I got my Processing email from Oculus on December 1. I have yet to get a shipping email from them, however, I did get a message from UPS My Choice today that it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I live in Michigan.

Edit:

If you have Touch coming, do not buy Dead and Buried, Medium, or Quill from the store. Once you connect and set up the Touch controllers they will be free to download.

Damn I really only want SuperHot and I expect you to Die, but was interested climb although I wouldn't mind waiting for a cheaper sale.

However this bundle makes it sort of tempting.

.

Thanks. I will play around with it. I don't want to use up the front facing USB 3.0 sensor on my machine if I can avoid it.

Nice, I got a text from UPS my choice that my package is being delivered tomorrow. I just checked Oculus.com 30 minutes and it was still "Processing for shipping"

Quill is really something. Felt like a VR version of photoshop with the layers page. Pretty cool. Going to mess around with Medium once it finishes downloading.

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
All you guys that already got yours are getting me hyped and impatient :p

Man, UPS could have totally delivered mine today—they arrived at the local distribution center last night—but they held the package for tomorrow.

Yeah got the processed and shipping soon email a few days ago, but no info on a shipping number or anything yet.

I hope I get it this week.

Edit: Damn. 3 minutes after posting this, I get my shipping email. Lol.

The Climb is god awful with Touch. It's like you're reaching around and pulling the mountain around you. Totally immersion breaking compared to playing with a gamepad.

Superhot and Medium are incredible though.

Huh! I wouldn't have thought that would be the case with The Climb. I really don't enjoy gamepad-only VR games (except Lucky's Tale), so I was holding out for Touch support.

I'm not surprised if the game works worse with Touch. Once you've actually tried the game with a gamepad, it's really hard to imagine how the Touch version would work. We've had plenty of discussions about it on GAF, and the general consensus has been "Touch will probably make this game worse."

It honestly goes a long way towards illustrating just how good the gamepad controls in that game are. I may be holding a gamepad when I'm playing, but whenever I try to recall my gameplay sessions, my brain tells me that I actually reached out and grabbed those ledges with my own hands.

No shipping for me yet, despite my "priority" status for being a 15m Rift preorder. Thanks, Oculus!

As an update, just received a UPS notification that my Touch is arriving tomorrow. Thanks, Oculus! (non-sarcastically this time!)

It always felt like there'd be a bit of an 'uncanny valley' effect where actual hand controls would only make the fact you're not actually moving around even more apparent.
It seems odd that it'd be better with a gamepad and aiming with your head, but it really does.

One more for the party. Got my Touch "order processed" email on the 3rd, no shipping update, but just now a UPS notice that it should arrive tomorrow.

Welp, I'm on the Oculus store downloading Unspoken and VR Sports already. I see the tech demos of Bullet Train and Toybox are up for free already, so gonna download those too.

Quill, Medium and Dead and Buried are gonna be free right? They're selling them at cost right now on the store.

Were you emailed a code for Unspoken/VR Sports? I went to the oculus order page and my email and didn't see anything.
