Money, the demo can be downloaded by both gold and silver now. I'm downloading as we speak. =)

I mentioned Konami, not even thinking about ZOE. I chose a Japanese developer I believe could do a good job with the IP.PepsimanVsJoe said:Just sayin'
You're better off asking for ZOE 3 instead of Konami developing the next Armored Core, because it seems to me you'd rather play that than AC.

Baryn said:A more interesting fiction would be something I could see another company going farther with than From has. The plot, acting, environments, and missions are extremely lackluster with the AC series. It has all remained essentially the same, and rather vanilla, for ten years.
The first point is essentially mine also. The second I agree with, but the fact is that they have had competition in this genre, just not from one of the high-profile Japanese studios.PepsimanVsJoe said:I think if anything a good Armored Core game would require input from a number of developers handling different aspects of the game. However rather than bother a group of developers to work on one game I find it sufficient to leave it in From's hands. Course their lack of vision is the main reason why the series has seen little evolution through the countless sequels/expansions.
I think what From really needs is competition. They pretty much have the giant mech-genre covered between AC and now Chromehounds. The only way there is ever going to be some evolution is if a challenger exists.
That just isn't what I want from Armored Core. For me the stock taken in the single- and multi-player modes is about equal. I like a powerful single-player experience that doesn't have the premise of competition. But sometimes I like to prove my AC is better than yours (and of course the AI is awful). If these are the sort of things you think take the game farther than it is then I honestly can't agree. I won't argue that the missions are poor but I don't really think they're the focus of the game. They're simply there for training and to provide parts to customize your AC. I think in due time the focus will shift even further from anything story-related and the games will be all about dueling and other multiplayer-based modes.
As for the graphics being identical, I don't buy it.
AC4 looks a lot better than Chromehounds, that's pretty obvious from screenshots to actual gameplay videos.
Yes! While I've only played the demo of AC4, I think it looks 1000x better than Chromehounds (which was incredibly ugly from what I've seen).DCharlie said:no!
will try it out later i guess

for me, still one of the best looking next gen games to date.
How can a mech, that the player has full control over building, have bad art?Baryn said:Chromehounds has great effects, but bad art for the environments and the mechs themselves.
Armored Core has the best of both.
Just because you can build your own mech doesn't say anything of the art style. The parts are designed by someone who isn't you. You have a vast garage mode in Armored Core as well, but I wouldn't call the mech art in those two games similar at all.raYne said:How can a mech, that the player has full control over building, have bad art?
Like I said, I've only played the demo. Those shots are very nice (though I still prefer the appearance of AC4).Granted the backgrounds won't totally blow your mind, but INCREDIBLY UGLY?!
I didn't make a sweeping generalization. I was comparing the demos!m0dus said:Well, no more sweeping generalizations for YOU.

chespace said:So I kind of wrote off Armored Core 4 after playing a couple chapters on PS3. The controls didn't jive with me and some of the missions were just ridiculously hard and I was actually losing more money than making money on missions, etc. Overall, your typical shitty AC experience.
Well, I bought it for 360 today on a whim and gave it another go, this time with a much easier to use starting mech... and I'm having fun, sort of. Graphically, both versions are identical, that is, they are both graphically stylistic but also shitty and sparse.
Gonna keep playing it... I'm also on the last couple missions of Ace Combat 6... I should finish that soon too.
Anyone want to play either game on 360 with me?![]()
purg3 said:I was one of the few that actually enjoyed AC4. Even S ranked normal and hard missions. The only problem is that the multiplayer got old fast since it's very sparse in comparison to CH. I haven't played online in a while though, so I'm not sure what has changed. Before, there were some really overpowered combos that made the game a bit boring. Send me a msg if you want to play-I also have AC6 but I need to finish Mass Effect before I get into that one.
chespace said:When you say the multiplayer is "boring" ... what does that mean? Isn't it basically a faster paced arena-style CH?
