First tragedy, then farce.
Shelton retains.. FUCKING AWESOME MATCH... Shelton hit the worlds greatest superplex ever.. Y2J was about to come off the top rope to get him, then Shelton gets up runs back up the ropes and just nails the superplex.. and did it in like half a second. IT WAS SICK. There were other great spots in the match.. but something happened I didnt thing I would see.. Shelton carried Y2J.

Also the Superjobbers are now the tag team champs. Yeah, that has good idea written all over it.
 
for those keeping score at home: 3 matches in and three superplexes.. one sent Benoit through a trashcan, the other sent edge off the top of a ladder... Sheltons is still the best though.

Oh, and Benoit took a brick to the back of the head.. and edge chunked it on the steps afterwords.. it was a real brick.

Edit: and now we are treated to the tri-fecta.. Lita cutting a promo, the divas prancing like idiots and Chris Masters putting the masterlock on some manish woman.

IC championship match

Shelton (C) defeats Chris Jericho

Tag Team cluster fuck...
Regal and Tajiri beat the hearthrobs.
Regal and Tajiri beat Simon Dean and Maven
La Res defeats Regal and Tajiri
The Superjobers beat La Res to become new tag team champs.

Edge vs. Benoit in a last man standing match.

Edge wins with multiple spears and a brick to the back of the head.

Kane (w/ slut) vs. Viscera (w/ Trish)-
Kane wins via chokeslam.. match wasnt that bad and mercifully short. big Viscera turned on Lita to the HUGE face pop at the end.

Also: Alot of we want matt chants during the Lita and Edge segments.. Vince has got to be pissed that this still hasnt died off.

During the Edge vs Benoit match when the crowd started with the "we want Matt" chants again JR tried to cover for it by saying something like...

"mats.. that's exactly what we need in a last man standing match. The only way to win is to keep your opponent down."

Hogan fucking sucks.

Hassan is one of the best things to come out of WWE in the last few years. Hope his defeat to Hogan/Michaels is not the end of his push

yupp, that was really really shitty.. I honestly thought HBK would pull the hell turn on Hogan to give the arabs the win.

Stooge will have to fill you in, since I'm flippling back and forth between multiple shows. But the way Hogan moves I doubt there were are real highlights. Hell, I don't even think he can do the legdrop anymore.

But :lol@the fat jiggly random fan HBK/Hogan took into the ring. The guy had a huge tatoo of Hogan flexing on his back so Hogan/HBK rip his shirt off to show it to the crowd. It'd probably look pretty good if the hair on his back wasn't covering Hogan's face! :lol
 
yeah, not alot happened.. they teased the legdrop but it got broken up before he got completely airborne. I dont think he can actually do it anymore. it got wacky in the end, a lead pipe got involved and then the faces started cheating like hell to win also..

OMG, he just cut the greatest promo ever, a battle rap that made fun of just about everyone on both rosters. Best line: "On Raw you got Batista with muscles to spare, but he has Charisma like Tomko has hair" in regards to big Dave.. he is so going to SD to feud with Cena.

It was too good.. said that HHH and Flair have 26 titles between them and the worlds biggest nose.. called out JBL and compared Cena to Cory Haim.

anyway, Batista retains.. decent match with some nice spots.. HHH hit the pedigree, but the ref was out at the time, by the time a new one came in it was too late.. HHH tries a second one, gets catapulted.. Flair distracts Batista, HHH tries a 10 count punch in the corner.. Batista powers out.. Batista Bomb, match over.

Pedigree to the ref for good measure... so, the third match is set up.. HHH should have won but there wasnt a ref, so the pedigree is still the answer to beating Batista... and if rumors are correct, HHH is going to take on Batista in the match he has never lost in... Lets hope Batista actually goes over.

He's prolly jobbed HHH alot to have been kept around and I'm not talking about in the ring.
 
I think WWE has some good stuff for Shelton coming up. Not World Champion stuff, but some good stuff nonetheless. As for as the Edge-Lita stuff, I would not be surprised it Matt is back in the WWE soon. Vince can't turn down the kind of money that can be made with this angle. What they have to do is have Edge hitting on Lita, and Lita saying she can't get with him because of Matt, then have it revealed that Lita cheated on Matt...that angle can go on for months if WWE plays it right.

Ok, now that I can get back onto GAF.. final thoughts.

Shelton/Y2J was about a **** match.. not MOTY stuff, but very solid. It was typical work from them.. some nice chains stuff with reversals... really dramatic moment with Shelton in the Walls.. some nice spots.. in particular there was this one where they were both barely hanging on the turnbuckle.. shelton got knocked off, but stayed on the edge of the apron so Y2J hit a Rana that sent them both to the floor... and the above mentioned superplex that I didnt describe as well as I should have.. they were battling on the top rope, and Shelton got knocked off.. Y2J was about to come off the top rope to nail him, when shelton sprung up jumped to the top rope (one jump) grabbed Y2J and nailed the superplex.. It was insanely fast. Crowd was confused.. they wanted to root for Y2J, but he was being the heel... and none of them wanted to root against Shelton.. this is why you dont book faces against each other unless you have completely turned one of them.

Tag Team - imagine watching the Raw tag division in a series of 5 minute matches. Yeah, it wasnt pretty.

Mabel/Kane - very short match, overbooked to hell, but with a couple of nice power spots.. Viscera sit down choke slamming Kane.. Kane coming off the top rope to the outside... not the type of match I enjoy, but about as good as can be expected.. call it a * and be happy it wasnt as bad as it could have been. The crowd was into Viscera pretty well, but the Matt Hardy chants overshadowed a big chunk of this one too.

Benoit/Edge was about a *** match. They both took some crazy bumps, and Benoit sold like a champ to get Edge over as a legit threat, but the crowd was more intrested in Matt Hardy than either of the guys in the ring... until the last few minutes when Benoit was taking a pounding and it was pretty obvious it was coming to an end.. they got behind Benoit pretty big.

Egomaniacs/Arabs.. Well, HBK and Davari can wrestle... Davari did his modified surfboard move (which I assume is the Magic Carpet he did in RoH).. but this match started as Hogan beating the crap out of people.. then HBK played face in peril.. then Hogan came back out and did his schtick... had the led drop stopped, so HBK came in and his his finisher instead (since Hogan cant do his).. and then Hogan pinned Davari... **, if I was 12 I would have gone nuts and likely labeled this MOTY.

HHH/Batista. Much better match than WM... but I dont get why they book Batista to be unstopable on Raw and then make him look like a little bitch in the PPV's.. they did the same stuff.. HHH goes on extended offensive runs, then Batista comes to life and destroyes him.

Overall, it was a decent show.. the highlight however was a promo cut by a guy not even on the card... so that probably says alot about the actual content of the PPV. It doesnt help that they frontloaded the entire thing with the best matches... Shelton/Y2J and Benoit /Edge were the best matches by far and they were over with relatively early... which sorta deflated the rest of the show. Unless you were a Hogan mark, then you likely messed all over yourself when he came out and had his match.

no, part of what makes CC great is that underneath the cocky exterior, you get the feeling he doesnt believe the crap he says either. You have to love a cocky heel who talks shit and KNOWS he cant back it up... which is why he has Tomko... who is honestly a great strait man for the charachter.. he just sucks in the ring.
