Official Doom 3 X-box thread: For us non-cash chuckers w/o great computers

I've seen DOOM3 being played and I don't hold this view at all.
Its still run and gun,its DOOM.

I've played through the whole thing. It is far more like quake 1 and 2. Mostly cramped levels and you only fight a few enemies at a time. If a person with a crappy computer wants to experience doom 3, all they have to do is get quake 2 and turn the brighness down on their monitor till they can't see shit.

No shit it's an opinion you idiot. Who said it was fact? Please, point me where I claimed it was fact. If you cannot, then please, STFU.

I don't think I should have to append IMO to every single comment I make.

I guess what pissed me off is that you linked a website to support an opinion as fact in the absolute sense that the game sucks. That, and I thought your reply was unnecessarily terse for effect. At least that's how I took it.

Opinions and all, but HL2 overrated POS?

If you have problems with the game that sucks- I'm sorry. It sucks because you can't reliably play a great game [[IMO]]. :)

So how much of the fat from Doom 3 PC was cut off of the Xbox version?

Between the online co-op and the inclusion of the older games in the CE I'm considering picking this up. I'd be more intersted too to know how much of the excess boring stuff in the middle got cut out. I think a shortened version of Doom 3 PC would be a much nicer experience. PC version is about four to five hours too long.

Doom 1/2 do indeed have splitscreen co-op.

I haven't played through the entire PC game, but the Xbox version didn't seem to drag very much anywhere. Also, the co-op mode can be rushed through in a couple of hours since it completely skips some parts.

Co-op is made for playing multiple times, just for the fun of it. Good idea I say.

Don't get in a huffy HokieJoe. If you tell me something sucks and you hate it, I won't jump down your throat about it. I have a buddy - shpankey - and he's not too happy about the GC, rarely has anything nice to say about it - but I don't give a shit how he feels and he doesn't care that I think he's nuts :lol

I try not to tie my ego to products.

Some people hated HL2, and not for the reasons I do.

Some people hate Splinter Cell and I love that series.

People say Splinter Cell sucks - fine, so be it.

And if Valve ever gets their shit together and fixes it, I will re-evaluate the game. As of now - it's a fucking load.
