Forgot to make a post last night...this is obviously a new event for these guys, and the track has proven to be incredibly tricky with some nasty banked turns, one of which gives off 4 G's.

Haha, Sato's drove himself to a career as a Honda test driver. Poor chap. :)

At the other Honda powered car - major suckage, hopefully he can bring it home in the top 8.

Why the hell is stuff always blacked out on posts?

Just in case people wanna watch the qualifying without having the results spoiled.

:lol Yeah, some reports were saying he's as good as gone. He also got in the way of Webber's qualifying run, due to a communication problem with the car. Hasn't been a good week (hell, year) for ole' Sato.

Sato sucked with Jordan and now he sucks with BAR, I don't know why people expected any different. Its seems you either get formula 1 right off the bat or you don't and you should go back to formula 3000 or wherever you came from.

I think people were impressed with his speed last season, and like Kimi suffered a lot from bad luck with mechanical failiures...but since the summer of last year he's basically gone into the tank. Let's face it, Sato only got a seat at BAR because he and Honda are Japanese. Sebastian Bourdeas in Champ Car would eat this kid for lunch.

Who's to say what would happen. I believe Sato anihilated the field in the British F3 series and it didn't exactly translate well to Formula 1.

Very true, he completely obliterated the competition in that series in 2001. Puzzling why he hasn't brung that Sato to F1. Well he's been given the chance and he's blew it.

Sayonara Satosan.

:lol Outside of the Indianpolis fiasco, that might be the WTF moment of the season. :lol

BTW, Sato got thrown to row 8, after he got in the way of Webber.

This track looks absolutely wild to drive...all the drivers appear to love it, but they also say it's total hell on the neck mainly due to the four G's, four apex, 150mph turn eight, not to mention it's one of just three anti-clockwise circuits they race on all year.

Great Race, and a great new track, that 4 apex monster that is Turn 8 is a classic in the making to rival Eau Rouge & Curva Grande in my opinion.

Storming drive from Kimi, gotta feel for Montoya and I thought Buttons drive was spectacular, one of the best we've seen from him since his early promising start.

Unlike a few of the circuits currently in use I'm really looking forward to seeing more races from this one.

Fucking Montero, if he hadn't hit Montoya it would have been a 1-2!!

It was a rookie error on Monteiros part, however I'd say that after hearing Ron Dennis saying afterwards that they were pushing hard with a flat spot I'd be surprised if the 1-2 seconds lost cost him that place, Montoya always has had a reputation in F1 for pushing past a cars envelope at his own expense.

Well, that was a fascinating race...defintely had a lot of moments. Fascinating track, and turn 8 is defintely turning into a legend (proved to be pretty pivitol towards the end). I'll post the full results later,
but I can tell you the top four were Kimi, Alonso, Montoya and Fisi. Montoya had second place all wrapped up, but suffered a flat spot on his right front tire that first caused him to spin out right in front of a lapped car going into a turn, then made him go wide on the daunting turn 8 on the second last lap, allowing Alonso to go by. So McLaren still hasn't gotten a one two finish yet, which is amazing considering they've been the fastest car by far since early summer.

Race is getting replayed at 12:30pm on Speed Channel. Next up for the F1 circus is beautiful Monza.

I love Monza, it may not be the entire speed monster that it used to be once they added all those damn chicanes, but it's still a classic in my book, always will be :)

I reckon something got damaged (or gotten out of balance) as well with the touch from the back, making him miss the turn in which Alonso could take over.

And he didn't lose 1-2 seconds, he lost over 10

Montoya said in the press conference that he got hit in the back, causing damage to his diffuser. When he went off at turn 8, he said he had no rear grip. Good thing those run offs are tarmac...if it was gravel, he would've been a beached whale.

That race tracks looked so sexy...omg a driver's dream especcially that tripple apex corner!!! OMG.

Excellent race also.

Not a fan of oval racing...

:lol

I'm not sure if this is serious or not....I sure hope not

Anyway, funniest part of the race was when Schumi got pissed he was getting passed and cut into Webber. Hello, you're only racing for 11th place.

Also, that Monteiro/Montoya thing was Montoya's fault. He had the flat spot and had to brake differently he shouldn't have cut so closely in front of Monteiro. Montoya hit the brakes so early that Monteiro had nowhere to go.

actually my dumbass of the race award goes to Massa for the second corner incident where he lost his wing jumping a curb from the wrong angle.

Incog was half-kidding...he loves riling me up. :lol

Michael has a nasty habit of getting reckless when things don't go his way, and this was just the latest example.

Anyway I forgot to post the full results, so here they are...

As long as McLaren avoids the mechanical gremlins they've suffered this season, they're going to destroy everyone at Monza in two weeks.

Heh..

Michael Schumacher has had secret meetings over the past two Grand Prix with Mercedes Sporting chief Norbert Haug about a move to McLaren Mercedes. :D

:lol :lol :lol Now that would be funny...though seriously, why the fuck would McLaren need Michael? Montoya's got five or six years on him, and Kimi (along with Alonso) is the quickest young stud going. I wouldn't fire either guy just to sign someone who could be one bad season away from packing it in due to sheer boredom.

That's true, but haven't there always been rumors in the background that Kimi would end up at Ferrari someday? McLaren wouldn't fire him, but someday Ferrari may offer him $30 mil plus to defect. I still don't buy this rumor, though...

I think every team in the paddock who can afford to will go after Kimi, and no one will go after him harder then Ferrari. But I just assume McLaren will be able to match or beat any offer and will retain him...unless Kimi's cars keep blowing up every other race for the next year.
