Okay, I'm semi-interested inan espresso machine, unfortunately, I *don't* have a lot of cash (I could probably only get a machine <150$), should I just wait until I can go nuts for a 300+ buck one? I'm a coffee freak, but I'm not so knowledgeable against what's a good coffee vs. a bad coffee, so crazy fresh taste isn't too high on my list. Also, regarding pods: Yay or nay? The appeal of a quick coffee interests me? Any recommended machines, etc. so forth.

Any other coffee discussion unrelated to my questions is welcome as well.

I dunno bout you but I love coffee. A nice dark drip in the morning gets me juiced for the day. OH MAN YES! OR EVEN AT NIGHT! HELL AT 2AM ILL HAVE THE DELICIOUS BEAN!

I suggest look through a site called coffeegeek.com to checkout a list of machines that are reviewed. I use to like senseo until I tried some better stuff on a Nesspresso machine. I'll always choose a pod machine since I don't drink coffee daily, pods have a longer storage life, and its fast and easy with not much cleanup.

So yeah, I'll probably get a Nesspresso machine since they seem to be the best pod machine at a reasonable price (<$300), if want something cheap and don't even care about taste than I suggest this and some instant coffee about as fast and cheap.

There's some recommendations in these threads.

Frankly, i can't recommend a $150 steam toy of an espresso machine. Been there, done that. They can't generate the pressure needed to pull a good shot, they've got small water tanks that take forever to retrun back to temp, and they'll probably fail after a year of real use.

Get a Bodum presspot/French press and a good coffee blend, ground extra coarse for the pot. They're cheap ($20 or less), break down for washing, and make a damn good pot of coffee.
