Official Halo 2 Thread

I saw in this thread earlier someone mentioning a rumour that you can
hijack the prophet's chair
, I just confirmed this now. It doesn't seem like you can actually control it though, you just jump on and wail on them until they die. Still pretty cool. Made the fight with

This is what you are supposed to do, is there another way to kill him besides this?

I think you can just shoot him. I killed him by the boarding/punching method, but I did shoot him before doing that and it did seem to do damage.

I suck at FPS though, so it's probably just me. I finished it on Normal, probably should have started on Heroic.

Snipers are the only real problem in Legendary (one-hit kills!). But if you've played the levels previously, you know where to expect them. Still a tad unfair.

I shot him until his sheild was down and then proceeded to beat him, also, did anyone not punch him?
 
Just played the 2nd mission again, interesting dialogue

Something along the lines as
“this is the only place on earth The covenant decided to land”
“lets find out why”

Maybe they new about the Ark before the start of the game

Forget coop on Normal, it shouldn't even exist. It's pathetic and it's for sissy marys :/

I've played em all too - the simple and short is that it's fun. I grew up a PC FPS'ser but there is something unique to Halo multiplayer that pc online games tend to lack. Maybe it's the "community", live play, balance, maps, vehicle balance...I don't know.

Personally, all I can do is laugh at PC FPS elitists because you are missing a great expierence.

I'm glad Bungie made it more powerful. It's very enjoyable to unload on a brute and then watch the needles kick the shit outta em.
 
I read somewhere that there arent any indecators as to which maps were for which amount of people. I was thinking that someone who has played the game can give a list of the maps complete with the recommended amount of people for it
 
I can only give you this. Waterworks is freaking enormous and should be played with the max number of people allowed.

Exactly! That's why it's so fun.

Midship is basically a sticky slayer where you can see how many plasma grenades you can get to stick.

Can he even actually attack? I just waltzed up and wailed on him right away, he was dead in seconds.

i honestly don't care much about the story, if thats what you are referring to, but i just hate the friggin Flood. Almost ruined the first game for me. Turns into too much of a Serious Sam clone when you're fighting them. And using the Covenant sucks cause their weapons blow. Give me assault rifles and shotguns please! This better not turn into MGS2/Raiden all over again!
 
multiplayer is cool, but i only like long games on big maps...i've been playing huge system link games set for unlimited kills, its good fun.

Using the covenant isn't that much different, as you'll see later in the game. I honestly didn't really care about the story either, but when the credits rolled i was pissed.

Halo 2 is the best game of this generation. The single player mode is so fantastic as is the multiplayer. It's the first game I've played that is as brilliant single player as it is multiplayer wrapped up in one epic package.

Playing on Legendary is a beast Legendary on Halo 2 is much tougher than Legendary on Halo.
