giambi might be the worst base runner in the 100+ year history of organized baseball (possibly softball also).

Ahh, i'm loving this game. Something about Wright shitting the bed is so satisfying to me. And thanks to the Mets for not doing like they used to do every year - roll over to the Yanks as if Steinbrenner was paying their salaries for all the interleague games. The rest of the AL East appreciates you actually winning a few games this year.

"You're welcome! And thanks to the people in Toronto for that warm ovation, that meant a lot to me!"

I'm calling BS on the Jason Bay All Star selection. I think MLB just wanted to have a Pirate starting, so they stuck him in there. I know he's having a good year, but there's absolutely no way he could have gotten enough votes outside of Pittsburgh to get the selection.

I'm a NZer who hasn't seen much baseball. I'm watching some of the Mets/Yankees game, God knows why, and they're going on about that guy from the Mets not sliding to the home pitch and being pissed at his mate who didn't stand close enough and signal to. Well why don't they just slide all the time anyway, if there's any possibilty of a good throw? I don't see what you lose by sliding even when you don't have to.

He's having a ****ing great year, and he gets an automatic (and very justified) starting vote from every canadian baseball fan who fills in a ballot.

If Randolph was a boxing referee, he would stop a one-sided fight after one of the boxers was already dead.
If Tim McClelland was a ref, he'd wait until you were knocked out and the opponent gets 3 low blows in before calling a KO.

If Alay Soler (who pitched in frickin' CUBA) cannot handle getting 3 outs after giving up the lead and pitches like a mouse, he shouldn't be on the roster.

This inning started with a walk to a .050 hitter. Now he homers. If the Mets don't overcome some odds here I might actually be slighty peeved.

I'm sick of Heath Bell. It seems like every time he pitches he gives up a long ball. Time to send down Soler/Bell and bring up Pelfrey/Owens.

Morgan and Miller are so ****ing annoying tonight. We all know Willie ****ed up, let it go already.

Seriously. They're like an old married couple. A retarded old married couple. Morgan was (as usual) the biggest idiot for just not getting what Miller was trying to say.

They are longtime Met haterz since 2000. And as I said I can't kill Willie here. Soler can't get 3 outs that inning AFTER the GS? Soler deserves to get sent down. Call it knee-jerk, but the Mets have both John Maine and Brian Bannister (forget Pelfrey) ready.

I'm not going to kill Willie over this either. I think he was trying to see if Soler had the balls to make a pitch for once in his life. Willie sent Soler a message, and he should book his ticket because he won't be with the team for much longer.

Nady can go **** himself. He took a very nonchalant approach to getting that ball.

For a man who isn't a great outfielder, has a broken wrist, and saw Valentin (for which Nady was to blame) and Soler nonchalant plays and STILL tried to go one handed is not cool. He may be DL'ed tomorrow.

im taking joe morgan's side on this
Joe Morgan thinks Barroid is innocent too. As far as I'm concerned I seen every game Soler pitched in. You need to see if he has the mental tenacity at THIS POINT to take charge and be a force late in the year. After that Boston start I think AT THIS POINT he's not ready physically or mentally. At least Bannister had a bulldog mentality, and Maine showed in his one spot he can pitch.

Mets trying to come back. Run here and there would help.

EDIT: Great. Williechat coming up. How much you wanna bet Joe and Jon tries to show up Randolph?

willie just said he wanted to conserve pitchers, bad move.

YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME

And look how successful Herman was. At least Willie is winning games. Pedro's missing 1 (maybe 2) starts, Oliver (long relief) pitches tomorrow, and the Mets lead the Division by 11.5. If there's a game you can find out about people, it's against the Yanks in the Stadium.

Willie in Charge,
a fine day . . . and a night,
Willie in Charge,
of our wrongs . . . and our rights!!!
and I see I WANT
WILLIE IN CHARGE OF ME!!!

i just want to say thank you again atlanta. all it took was a some AB's against the braves pitching to get arod out of his slump :lol

You absolutely have to stop suggesting pitchers hit opposing batters.

It's cheap and lame.
Sorry, forgot this isn't 10-20 years ago when baseball was baseball and a pansy didn't run the league. My deepest apologies, especially coming from a team who had Roger Clemens and currently has Randy Johnson, two of the biggest intimidators in the game.

What? Starting pitcher only threw 100 pitches? He's just warm now, send him back out!!! :lol

Spoken like a true Yankee fan. Ortiz and Ramirez tee-off on the Yankees on a regular basis and Torre never brushes them back. For God sakes Ramirez walked out of the batters box watching his monster home run and the Yankees didn't do shit.

LoDuca got in A-Rods face for showing up the Mets tonight. I hope they at least brush him back, but I would prefer a nice fast ball in the back.

That was a monster shot by Beltran, we could have used that when he popped up with runners in scoring position.

Hitting batters because your team stinks and can't beat their opponents is stupid and lame.

"Well, we're about to finish up a 3-6 road trip against the top teams in the AL East , so let's bean one of their top hitters! YEAH, THAT"LL SHOW 'EM!"

A Red Sox fan should be the last one to talk about hitting batters. You guys sent Soriano and Jeter to the hospital back to back...lol

But hey, I'm sure he sent tearful "Get Well" cards afterwards so it's ok.

And BTW you bean him for the showup and HGiambiH yapping like a dog.

Everyone go to mlb.com and vote Liriano in 25 times for the final AL All-Star roster spot
