Willy T 29 game hit streak :D

A couple more feet on both those last two fly balls and Delgado could have a 3 homerun night right now.

Bot 9th: Chi White Sox
- J. Dye homered to deep left, T. Iguchi scored

JERMAINE DYE

The greatest thing about that was the crowd was chanting "M-V-P" his entire at bat.

Dye is the definite MVP imo. Ortiz has been huge, no question, but Dye is just having an incredible season from every perspective and he's doing it while Konerko and Thome are hurt/struggling a bit.

****! Exactly what the Dodgers did not need!!!! Lowe injured, probably serious since he just walked off the field before the trainer checked him out.

I love what happened to the Phillies tonight. You walk Wright to load the bases-up comes Shawn Green with a double to left to make you pay. You then walk Valentine to load the bases again,up comes Chavez to make you pay with a double to right.:lol

Its a shame the damn game wasn't on MLB Extra Innings this afternoon. How was Perez though? I followed the box scores and noticed he had 6 ks in 5 innings and had a no-no going for awhile...not bad. I heard Howard got that monster homer after the ump failed to call a 3rd strike the previous pitch:(

Nice comeback today all around-Delgado and Beltran continue to light it up. You have to wonder how badly Beltran is gonna shatter Tod Hundley's Mets home run record.
4 more homers and he'll own the record.

Was wondering why the hell Beimel was in all the sudden (and he's of course sucking it up already).

The Twins can pitch a little bit, which is something much of the AL can't seem to do. They're a pretty scary team, much moreso if they get an effective Liriano back.

Coco Crap has a weaker throwing arm than John Damon. That is ****ing amazing to me.

Gio Carrara sent down with Tim Hamusuck taking his spot in the bullpen.
=\

Oh **** no! How can this guy still even be on our roster? Ugh, he's the absolute worst... sure Carrara has struggled some, but he's been a solid pitcher for us for a number of years.

:(

Can't wait for the winter, when Manny and Papi teach this kid some plate discipline. No idea about the right field though :)

I questioned the Wright walk, he was 2 for his last 20. But a lefty was on the mound and if not for bad placement of a slider Shawn Green was made to look silly the first 3 pitches of the AB. Can't say anything about the Endy thing though. I will say better corner outfielders may have tracked the ball down.

Peres was wildly effective the first 4 innings, striking out men w/ velocity topping out at 94 but walking guys and running deep pitch counts. Though he was squeezed all game he walked 2 in the 5th, including the pitcher trying to bunt. With the Howard AB Ryan Howard waving on two killer sliders, so he tried to throw a third and threw a horrible slider up. Grand Slam, bad job by Perez.

And Delgado hasn't even hit September!

Man, I hope we take this series tomarrow. Moyer looked good in his first outing and hopefully he continues that trend.

1.5 back!

Yeah, Wily Mo will be scary if he learns how to wait for his pitch. I just hope it happens before Manny retires. A Papi, Manny, Wily Mo 3-4-5 on a daily basis would be amazing.

Oh good, a Phillies fan. I was getting tired of only having Braves fans to contend with.

Francoma wants to be fired. I'm convinced. That's the only explanation for continuously wheeling a cooked Timlin out to the mound in every goddamn game we have a chance to win.

Kill me now, owned by Rune Elvis, what is sadder is that was probably the best game Halladay pitched all year.

I love the avatar. We must bow down to our lord: Rune Elvis. If I wasn't ashamed of copying you I might bring out a Deformo Rune Elvis. He should retire tomorrow. There's no way he'll top that game for the rest of his career.

Deformo Rune Elvis > deformo Manny. We have to respect our lord and saviour Rune Elvis.

Psst, I posted that image last page =p

btw, White Sox are a sinking ship
However, word is McCarthy pitching 5.2 innings today was no accident, and we're priming him to start. So **** off Vazquez or Garcia. At this point, to hell with loyalty and just win.

I've got ~30 games to panic over though, with one more series left with the Twins and Tigers, so I still think this will come down tothe wire.

I could be wrong about Oliver Perez I thought he was a one year wonder who took riods, and washed out pitcher. But he pitched well last night despite Howard's grand slam. But I thought he was being squeezed too so some of those walks could of been K's. We was throwing around 94 mph which is a good sign, I hope he could start throwing as hard as he was throwing in 2004 which was 95-97 mph range. If Peterson could help him reduce the walks I think he could be the doinamte pitcher that he once was.

Not sure if this has been addressed here, but I saw a Buster Olney list of all the players who passed through waivers:

Krapler passed through waivers? PLEASE, someone, anyone, TAKE HIM! You're guaranteed 1-2 hilariously bad plays in the outfield every game, in addition to 4 horrible ABs where he flails at pitches in the dirt.

We're willing to receive a bag of balls and a sandwich to be named later in return.

Jeromy Burnitz
Jeff Conine
Jay Payton
Bobby Kielty
Reggie Sanders
Luis Matos
Jay Gibbons
Geoff Jenkins
Gabe "Epic Baseball Manuever"Kapler

Bring back Jay Payton so he could stand at home plate while the ball is in play again.

While you're at it bring back Timo Perez so he can stand at first base thinking a ball of the wall is a home run.

Hey, Jay Payton was the RotY in 2000. And Bobby V never liked him so Jay didn't get a chance.

Case can be made if Timo didn't play the way he did After Derek Bell's Game 1 injury Mets may never have made it to the WS.

I still can't believe Kapler dove for that ball, it was so . . . epic.

Willy T 30 game hit streak...look out Utley.
