The funny thing is, I said after he hit the 3 run homer. "Watch him pitch a no hitter tonight"

I DIDN'T MEAN IT, HONESTLY, GOD... ARE YOU LISTENING?

*crickets*

I think I'll slit my wrists if the Cubs no hit us and at home no less.

Roger blow out your arm in minor leagues and call it a career, for your mental health.

muhahahaah :lol No no hitter :D

Preston Wilson was good for something after all.

**** you TOMKO! Wow this guy has fallen off hard, If anything I was sure Aaron Sele was going to be the pitcher to implode. :lol

Welcome back Lo Duca, I still love you! :D

Whew, glad Z didn't get that no hitter.

I was watching the womens college softball world series, and a girl slid hard into third and got her head all jacked up. It was all bashed in and bleeding pretty bad, and they had to hold her down and fix it while she was visibly crying =( =(

If the Reds beat the Cards with Claussen, then nothing will stand in their way. Series sweep FTW!

Depends on how soon LaRussa comes to his senses and has someone else close. Any competent reliever that isn't Izzy would have won it for them tonight.
If Tony keeps being a stubborn bitch(DURRR HIS WHIP IS 1.63, BUT HE HAS SAVES! SAVES I TELL YOU!!!!), then yeah, you guys should be fine.

If I became illogically obsessed with Andy Phillips in the same fashion I am with KID WONDERFUL, it'd be okay right?

ALL HAIL THE ALABAMA SLAMMA.

It'll take him at least two more games to figure that out. Only a humiliating series sweep by the Redlegs will shake him to his senses. Unfortunately, the damage will already have been done.....

I don't think I could have asked from much more from the Mets tonight.

-Alay Soler was great, allowing 1 ER over 7 IP for the win.
-Carlos Delgado seems to be breaking out of his slump.
-Lastings Milledge stayed hot.
-Teh Dirty Pair and ENTER SANDMAN all got a night off.

Mets win in almost a laugher, 4-1.

Damn Mets!

Anyways, Good to see Tomko settle down after giving up 3 in the first inning. Our offense hit the crapper tonight, maybe they will wake up for tommorow's game.

And it was 9 innings!

Pedro and Glavine in the next two games,Heilman,Sanchez, and Wags all got rest tonight, and the Bravos lost again. Nice birthday I tell ya.:)

LMAO!

The shift is totally wacky defensively. I mean Melky just stole three bases.

Play the Benny Hill theme.

:lol Gotta love how it took a sure hit away from Big Papi though.

We gotta keep the massacre going. They got some AA guy going tonight.

Which means he will probably no hit us through 5.

Thought I was the only one to notice our penchant for that. Alas, this is a different Yankee team. A team filled with players who aren't too far removed from AA. :)

We make it past Wang's "Uh-oh" inning, we'll be fine.

LOL.

I've noticed we've had little trouble dispatching of rookies since we got the baby bombers. Remember early in the season when we faced the Twins...Baker I think his name was. Killed us.

Since then we've nicely done away with Verlander and some others.

I'm telling you, aside from Sheff, I'm not too worried about our injuries right now (Jeter will be fine). We are playing our best baseball in recent memory. The less big boppers in the lineup, the better, far as I'm concerned. The bullpen & starters are obviously an issue--though Randy seems to be getting back to consistency if not domination at least.

Yeah, when you guys had the all veteran line-up, it seemed like you always got destroyed by rookies and washed up 42 year old veterans, but hammered everyone in between :lol

and yet were still paying 190 million for all our guys =D. I say get rid of Matsui, Sheffield and Damon and replace em with Melky, Philips and whoever we can get our hands on in AA

Well it's kind of pointless because we won't see any of these players for at the very least a few years, if at all.

But if you go somewhere like SAS, there are plenty of people talking about it. But IMO it is worthless to discuss it, because who knows who will ever even make it to the big leagues. Especially when there are a good number of players coming straight out of HS.

Yeah, it's true there are people discussing it (2 Jays boards I frequent for example). And it is very true that one of the biggest reasons that it's not a major event is that these players won't be playing for at least 2 years...usually around 4. I think that is the main reason actually. In every other sport I can think of, the players drafted (at least in the first round or two) have a very good chance of being on the team and even making an impact, while in baseball, they just slink off into the minor league systems.

One thing I noticed ab out the draft... there's a hell of a lot of prospects coming out of Texas (not the university). This is a football state... what's up with that?

Eminem said:
lol isn't Danny Almonte supposed to be in this draft?

:lol :lol I wouldn't go near that kid with a ten foot pole.

And MLB drafting sucks since the talent that comes out of college and high school is so RARELY ready for primetime, unlike football. It's just boring. And I never know any of the names. I'd rather watch golf.

And signing Matsui and his .853 career OPS to the money he got was a model of Yankee inefficiency, but he has his own freaking revenue stream so there you go. Damon was an okay deal and he's done nicely thus far and he's played hurt. Sheff better not be renewed.

We don't need him. He proved himself replaceable. Adios sheff.
