ortiz is hitting .300 against lefties this year

its at the point where i can actually imagine some ruthless asshole in the yankees organization like randy levine to hire someone to cut ortiz's brakelines.

papelbomb era begins NOW!

^use that one.

Fucking Oilers tie it up against the WIngs so I assume I can change the Jays game for 5 minutes.. wtf is going on?

Oh. :(

Tallet fucking sucks, sucks I say. Stop fucking around Gibbons bring in Ryan.

I really just can't....understand this team.

I can't. The only ones who fucking do anything is Giambi, Jeter, Damon, and Cano....and then Torre works against Wang and Small by putting in Tanyon "T-Ball Stand" Sturtze.

Congrats to the red sox fans. What a fucking douche torre is.

Ahh, it's ok Gibbons obviously is done toying with the Baltimore crowd and wants to head to the hotel now. Ryan just relaxes me out there after a full season of Batista walking 2 batters every 9th inning last year.

EDIT: hah, and in the time it took to post BJ took care of business with a workmanlike SO to end the game. :D

That is why they pick him the big bucks, even though Gibbons makes some baffling decisions I can see him wanting to rest the bullpen because Janssen is pitching tommorrow.

Damn, that jack by Big Papi was fantastic. I called it when talking to a friend and then he did - fantastic! And Papelbon, I was hot on the idea of him working into a closing position last year after he started showing his stuff, and he's just turning into a great closer. Great win tonight.

EDIT: I imagine him being a starter next year... possibly.

Papelbon punching out A-Rod.. brings a tear to my eye, really.

Stros pen has just been awful this year so far,I'm amazed we have a 16-9 record.

Thank god for solid starting pitching.

Wandy pitched well again, but the 05 bats are back :(

Didn't watch the game but it must be said... PAUL LO DUCA is the man.

I saw it on satelite, quite a game. Zambrano looked sharp tonight, which means if things work out the way they often do he'll bomb badly against the raves this weekend, bleh.

There were two heroes in this game tonight though. Luduca for atleast putting the ball in play and leaving the rest up to the Nats to gift wrap the Mets a victory, and Julio Franco-he started the inning off with a walk. Mets were smart to grab him from the Braves.:D

Tomorrow should be an interesting game with John Maine pitching. Hopefully he can be a lock in the rotatuion,Zambrano you never know what youre gonna get from inning to inning.

Go M's!

Now we're only 12-15!

I'm actually surprised our record is THAT good.

If they only had a half decent closer instead of that train wreck, Guardado, they'd be over .500

Props to Dirty Sanchez and The Sandman also. Mets pen vs. Opponents' pen -- WE WIN.

Yanks get owned by Big Papi. Wakefield makes ARod swing spinnaz. Papelbon shuts the door.

Captmcblack cries silently into pillow while playing InuYasha: Feudal Combat and sings

"How could this happen to me,
I've made my mistake..."

:lol :lol :lol

One of the Yankees' many weaknesses.

Sucks that the Dodgers are about to lose, but I'm stoked we sent Carter down to the minors and brought up Broxton. This guy is the future.. get Billingsley up soon too and start grooming these guys to take over.

Ooh, Killer Tomato with a pinch hit double.. come on Jason!

NO fucking posts about the absolute GEM that Tim Hudson threw tonight? I was in attendance, ladies, and let me tell you: Tim Hudson has made a minute adjustment to his delivery, and it is paying dividends. His era is already under 5 now! Did you hear me, UNDER 5?! That's tremendous in the Roger McDowell Error- I mean Era.

Seriously, Huddy was damn filthy tonight. Can't believe Giles wasn't shifted over to his left on that piece of shit Jennings' hit. No hitter taken away by retardation. Oh well, go get 'em next time.

Mets fans- you better pray that your team wins the rest of their games this season, because I don't see our highly trained group of killers losing any over here. You have been WARNED.

When will it end?:lol

Hey the Mets are 6 games on top,the Braves aren't. :)

You guys had a healthy team this past weekend, you lost 2 out of 3.:)

Instead of warning us you should consider the smaller teams that the Braves have a problem finishing off. :)

The next best thing to seeing the mets kicking ass is seeing the Brave fans issue out warnings.:lol

Btw-nice avatar;)

This is MAY, buddy. Being on top of the standings in MAY don't count for shit. Talk to me if you're in the hunt at the end of September- and you probably will be unless this Pedro Martinez voodoo doll I got starts working like advertised. You guys are good- but you're not 14 time division champions.

And to the Metkee- it doesn't matter if our bullpen sucks. Our starters are all prepared to go nine scoreless innings the rest of the year, just so baseball won't have to deal with the Mets as division champs. Some things just aren't meant to be.

Triumph-you seem to be the one talking all the shit in this thread. Just calm down, things will be fine,a wild card is not the end of the world for the Braves. Just because a 6 game lead can turn into a 10 game lead doesn't mean there is reason to panick.:D

You guys are good

Triumph, you're feeling charitable, I see. :D

Yeah, of course May is early. But the Mets have honestly been struggling at the plate for the last couple weeks, and they're still winning. They play without Beltran for a while, without Floyd for a spell (continuously what with his sub-Mendoza-Line BA) and somehow they still end up winning. They go to San Francisco and Atlanta, two cities where they're always AWFUL, and they take four of six games. Right now, their 4-5-6 guys are all slumping to varying degrees, and yet they keep on winning.

I guess my point is, I think they're gonna get BETTER. And for once, every Mets-Braves game will be an event, and not a trouncing at the hands of the Braves.

You should be happy that you finally have some competition.

Astros offered Clemens a 18 mil contract for about a 4-5 month contract. That's a hell of a deal and he should take it. I'm glad Drayton came out with a big offer.

I thought I heard it was the same year as last year, but pro-rated.

So more like 16 million if he pitches now, or 13 million if he pitches June 1st, etc

That better be incentive laden. He looked DONE in the WBC. $16 for 4 months? Ridiculuos.

This weather is terrible, even worse than last night. Cold, windy and rainy. I'll be surprised if the Sox-Yanks game gets played all the way through.

Heh, wait, it was just confirmed that the game is going to be delayed until at least 8:00.

Edit: Cancelled.

Ok, I hope our pitching can hold it together tonight. The offense spots you 5 runs off Sheets, you better fucking hold it together.

EDIT: :lol Right as I post this, Nieve gives up a 2 run HR. lmfao.

UGH.
