Solrac, some people actually blame Al Leiter and John Franco. Al Leiter was a bad influence in the clubhouse, and always ran to the owners with anything and everything. Leiter and Franco got into it with Kazmir in spring training because he changed the music when they were working out. Kazmir also took a teammates car and crashed it in a fit of rage because of some silly dispute. Rumor has it that Al went and bad mouthed Kazmir to the Wilpons, telling them that they should trad him for another pitcher because the Mets had a chance to make the playoffs (they were 5 games out around the trade deadline).

I was watching the Yankee broadcast when Kazmir pitched against them this past weekend and Michael Kay actually asked Leiter about the situation. He denied the whole thing. I hate Al Leiter with a passion He's a politician and bitch who needs to get his way with everything. Al's mouth is so big that when Minaya decided to not resign him, he called WFAN and started bitching to the overnight host on how he felt mistreated. He kept on yapping to guys like Delgado that the Mets organization was out of touch and that he shouldn't sign with them.

Sorry for the rant but I get crazy when I think about what went down. Peterson, Leiter, and Duquette all had a role.
