Best sig on the mlb.scout.com Mets boards . . .

"I think ultimately what it might come down to is that Cox and JS have to suit up and take the field, and at that point, when they bring their superpowers into play, we're totally screwed." "The Braves are done. I don't care who's in AAA, accept it right now that their lovely division streak is over-Finito."

:lol

They really are a special group of players this year. They can go all the way,if they just get that one extra special pitcher they need for the playoffs. But then thats assuming too much, one game at a time baby, one game at a time. Let's keep perspective, its been a damn great season, the best in years. If only Omar were our GM a few years back,Kazmir would still be a Met.

Sawx win!

Don't look now, but the Red Sox have the same record as the White Sox, while the Yankees are only 1 game behind the White Sox in the loss column.

The Wild Card is coming out of the AL Central, huh?

That dude is an asshat......he is beyond any kind of intelligent discussion. Thank god he got banned from the Braves board.

JS does it again though. Wickman is a pretty good pickup for what's out there at the moment. He'll help us out for sure, but he's not gonna be the silver bullet. All said though, we're better today than we were yesterday.

I will say that there are many characters who repeatedly underrate the Mets and seem to think it is destiny for the Braves to win the Division. You think this was bad? You should've seen the "Braves Death Certificate" thread we did after the 4/30 series.

I know all about it.......I posted several times in the thing.

Yeah. Its like it gets worse and worse. Imagine how much better the rotation would be if we had Kazmir right now. Just ****ing mind boggling.

It is tough to forget Kazmir when he's incredible.

That said, Omar gets entirely too much credit. There is the EXTREME juxtaposition of STEVE PHILLIPS and Omar, which immediatley is like, "Hey, look how AWESOME this guy is!" Omar, though...he didn't reinvent the team and stay within the parameters the previous GMs did. He spent a lot of money!

Omar is just as stupid. You guys need another starter and you traded Kris Benson because his wife is a bitch.

I can't sorry. Unless he burns his arm off(and I hope to God that never happens) he is goin to just get better and better. You simply don't forget what you had, where you would presently be pitching wise if theMets had used patience and held onto him. The situation only gets worse when you have a bum like Zambrano on your team.:lol

I can forget him because he never appeared in a Mets' regular season game. And apparently everyone forgot last year when Benson was getting killed by the Nationals and collapsing down the stretch. All I wanted from him was to show #2 starter stuff and he didn't even do THAT. Wife was a straight-up HO, I remember her antics from the Pittsburgh days. Besides, Mets used that money to good use (Delgado, Nady, and others). And whatever you say about Zambrano and how frustrating it was to watch him pitch he still ate up innings, and heard all the boos and still went out to the mound to do his job. I will at least respect that and feel bad that his Met carrer had to end like this . . .

Don't know if this was reported, but Greg Maddux gave the Cubs a list of teams if he was traded he'd go to. NONE were AL teams.

Benson was traded because he sucked down the stretch,he was just never consistent enough the last two months last year. He has always been a mediocer pitcher and we needed to rebuild the bullpen so the move is justified in my book. The organizatiion had too many soft tossers and when we had the opportunity to grab Sosa,a young flame thrower, and another young starter with a decent fastball in Maine, you take it and see what happens. Ofcourse it didn't work out with Sosa, but it remians to be seen how Maine turns out He has looked better since his hand injury though,he needs more time if you ask me. Its just a matter of how much time the Mets will give him, especially with a division up for grabs this year, they might want to get another vetertan instead.

Omar's been pretty good though. But you do have a great point,he has cash to spend now,the Mets have a tv network to allow them to go out and not worry about the luxury tax, they could bring in some money players that some teams may be looking to unload. But you have to give the man credit though, landing Julio Franco,Endy Chavez,Jose Valentin, trading for Loduca and Delgado, focussing this team of athleticism and speed, its worked out great so far. Sure any GM can do that with money, but how many Met GMs have done this so far? I don't think he;'s overated,he was hired to retool the team, and in his 2nd year he has them in 1st place, thats pretty good in my book.

FrankMan-Zambrano got a bad wrap I'll give you that. He might become a good pitcher someday but I doubt myself and some of the other fans will even care. While I do respect his
efforts its the outcomes that that kill me. He's walks batters way too much,he looses focus at any given time, and yet in the next inning he will come back throwing wicked shit. But to be honest I don't think even he knows where his pitches will end up over the plate. He's a scrub pitcher that unfortunately for he and mets fan, will never be happy with one another. Its best to just wash our hands with him,let him go. I do wish him well,I hope he can comeback from the injury. But I will always have Scoot Kazmir on my mind, and I hope that someday he'll be in a Mets uniform again, wowing us and giving us that extra needed shot of pitching we'll need in the future.

Imagine a reunion of Glavine and Maddux.

"Chicks dig the long ball."

Cubs need to clone Zambrano.

He is 10-3 this year.

Cubs are 37-57 overall.

Dusty better not blow out Big Z's arm as a parting gift to Cubs fans.

There was a report that the Cubs are asking for the moon for Maddux though. I'm not a fan of his but I wouldn't mind him as a rental, beyond that no way. Use the cash for Zito next year.

I've got that video downloaded Frankman. Awesome video. :D Geez me and my friends use to worship R.B.I. back in its day. The Ojeda curve knicking the edge of the outer plate was money baby.

I sent a couple of them the video, cracked them up. Props to the guy who made the video,I dunno how he managed to piece this together. I doubt it was just luck, must have been quite a dandy bit of editing there.

Good to see Kid Wonderful continue his clutch ways. I am impressed that they forced Halladay to throw so many pitches.

Anyway playing Glaus today is probably a bad move, the man is going to destroy both of his knees by the time his career is done.

Maddux is not the answer to the Mets pitching staff he's another pitcher thats over the hill and soft tosser. I want a young hard throwing pitcher, and I know Jesus Kazmir could of been the answer to the Mets problems but it wasn't ment to be ( stupid ass Jim Duqutte). There is Willis but he's not advalible, neither is Zito and Boros his agent will never let him be traded. Just hope Pelfery could be one of the answers.

Mussina is mowing through our lineup, where has the offense gone. Damn I can't wait til Rios comes back, lossing him has really hurt us.

You do not want Maddux on your team, unless you are counting on a near guaranteed loss.

Since his 5-0 start Maddux has gone 2-11. The guy is washed up. But hey if you want to give the Cubbies some great prospects for him I say go ahead. :D

add the fact that halladay's getting hit hard and throwing a lot of pitches.. doesn't look good for the Jays.

Time for some reverse psychology..

Mike Mussina will not suck in the fifth inning and give up a ton of runs.

Um why did we pull Halladay with only 90 pitches, Jesus Gibbons why do you like to use our relievers so much. Ryan just pitched last night damn it.
