HR is one of the best analysts around. He must have done something crazy to abruptly get canned after 11 years...

PS: IIRC he was on Cold Pizza guest hosting yesterday

Odalis Perez sucks so much now that they have to throw in prospects just so he can be traded for Elmer Dessens :lol

The fact they had to throw in 2 of their top 20 prospects and cash to get rid of Perez is pretty damn bad.
General manager J.P. Ricciardi said yesterday he will not trade Shaun Marcum, Brandon League or Dustin McGowan to acquire shortstop Julio Lugo from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He's given Tampa a list of pitchers, sources say, including the 16th choice overall in the 2004 draft, David Purcey. But Ricciardi is also in the market for another starting pitcher and has some interest in Cory Lidle, the Philadelphia Phillies and former Blue Jays starter. He's nobody's idea of a pitcher who puts a team over the top, but he's a more experienced hand than Janssen, who hasn't won since June 30.

C'mon J.P. didn't you learn your lesson the first time with Lidle, he is going to get rocked in the AL East. And damn Purceys stock has fallen big time in a year.

The Rays GM is an idiot. Ever since the Kazmir/Zambrano trade the Rays apparently believe they can trade shit for great prospects. Now Lugo is far from crappy, but he's a free agent at the end of the season. The team quite simply doesn't know how to trade.

Reports indicate the Jays, Red Sox, and Mets have all balked at the Rays' ridiculous demands in return for Lugo.

Well, it used to be LaMar, but I'm pretty sure Tampa has a new GM (or a pair of GMs) that are just as friggen stupid.

So the Mets are supposed to be the best the NL has to offer and they are about to lose two games to the Cubs.

Wow the NL is garbage. :(

Rays fail to realize Mets have leverage in the sense that they have Jose Valentin hitting everything in sight. It's nice to get Lugo but they don't NEED him. Only Zito (who I wouldn't risk renting) and Willis (who Marlfish won't deal) can get the Mets to deal Edge.

Someone is getting a little ahead on themselves. Mets haven't lost a series since June 30-July 2.

Big Z has been on fire lately and has won seven straight starts. He hasn't lost in over a month, which is longer than the Mets streak! So something has to give, and I predict Zambrano coming up on top as champion.

Endy Chavez 3 run shot!

Man.....everyone's getting torn up tonight.

Rogers allowed 6 runs in 0.2 IP as well as Zambrano stinking....Who knows how bad Halladay will be tonight!

Crazy stuff

So far today he looks like he belongs on the White Sox staff.

edit: holy hell Cleveland, don't blow that lead
2nd edit: go to hell and die, Paul Byrd

(UPDATE: Another reader, with "contacts on the inside," refutes the sexual harassment story: "Anyone who is saying sexual harassment either has been given bad third-hand info or is lying. Harold has had a couple of rather heated arguments with the producers at "Baseball Tonight," and some of the suits at ESPN over the program's coverage of Alex Rodriguez. At the last production meeting, when it was made clear they were going to really play up the A-Rod angle during coverage of the Yankees-Texas series, Harold had a colossal meltdown, which led to his dismissal. The sexual harassment allegations are even more laughable when you consider that he is being replaced by Steve Phillips -- a man who has never met a skirt he wouldn't chase and who was caught in one of the more embarrassing front office sexual harassment scandals in MLB history."

True? This, like the rest of it, just reinforces our point: We don't know. And the longer ESPN pretends like nothing happened, like they're a corner shop with three employees, believing this stuff can possibly remain private, the more talk there will be.)

Holy shit that homerun by Thome almost reached the concourse above dead center. Talk about a bomb, good lord.

Now 8-7 Cleveland. God damnit.

Ok Astros....3 hits of 1 hit ball against Harang is nice and all, but if you'd please give Clemens 2 runs of support this upcoming inning I'd really appreciate it.

I'm learning how to speak Joe Morgan.

:lol :lol Next you have to learn to get the players names wrong and somehow fit in a slam at OPS

edit: if we lose this game, i hope you burn in hell Laz Diaz. he was so ****ing safe

Wow Dusty just pulled Dumpster with two outs in the 9th to put Howry in to try and finish off the game. Dusty cares?!?!? O_o

He should go back to Florida then!

Check out this comment from a Mets fan on the Mets message board:

202030.1
He pulls his regular closer when he saw he didn't have it. He brings in this guy Howry to get the final out. Baker managed with balls of courage. He had a feel for the game. He had a feel for the moment. He saw his closer didn't have it. So he made the move he felt he had to make. Willie can learn from Dusty Baker there. Sometimes you have to not be so conventional and go with a gutsy move like that. That was gutsy by Dusty Baker. That's a major league manager.

:lol

He must have missed the other 98 games!

What does THE FRANKMAN have to say about this devastating loss? Mets season is going downhill from here.

PHEW. Nathan got out of a goddamn JAM there.

Silva is going to absolutely get blasted tomorrow afternoon, though. He couldn't buy a sinking fastball if his life depended on it this season. Please, Carlos, please, keep them under 6 runs. Please.

Buehrle is pitching, so I'm guessing the over/under for combined total runs is like 35.

Gonna be like a football score.

I need to find a way to listen at work, I don't have an AM radio to take with me :/

Ahahah, where is your god now Eminem?!?!?

It'll be like watching 3 hours of batting practice.

Of course since this is what everyone expects, both will pitch complete games and one team will win 1-0

"Devastating Loss?"

hhhomg4xeoi7.gif

Call me when it's only a 6 game lead of 1st in the Division :lol

Seriously, Mets lose 2 in a row and "OMG METS FAIL LOLOLOLLLLLZ!!". First 2 game losing skid since late June-early July. I guess the Yankees, White Sox, and every team in MLB sucks sphincter. What place is your team in again? How many games back? WHO THE HECK IS your team?

^^ he's actually one of the best hitting pitchers in the NL. Probably in the top 5

Izzy watch at Coors.

Results most likely not good
