Flabby arm and droopy face!
Meier said:I think Maddux is gonna come out and throw a gem tonight, and the Dodgers will sweep the Reds. I might be jinxing it, but I just have this feeling that's gonna happen.
Fifty said:Alright, another Torontonian watching the Angels game! Maybe we should become bandwagon scum and start rooting for them :lol
Chone Figgins with one of the worst games in recent memory. 0-6 and his final AB was a game ending double play.
Fifty said:I want to believe. I'll be at all 3 games this weekend, and if we get a sweep my faith will have been restored. Hell, 2 of 3 would be a big step but I want all 3.
The Daily News reported that charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the other car. Lt. Pat Santangelo, a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol, said it wasn't immediately known if alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident.
The Frankman said:Regarding Duaner Sanchez story:
Uh-oh . . . RIP = other driver.
R_GILL said:i doubt we get a sweep, as really McGowan has no control of his fastball and is going to get pounded on Saturday. We can get 2 of 3 if the good Lilly shows up and Halladay pitches like Halladay (also if Garland pitches like Garland).
I guess A-Rod's a dumbass for being "lazy" spending quality time with his family in Central Park. OH NOOOESSSSS!!evil solrac v3.0 said:he's still a dumbass for going out at 2:30 in the morning looking for "food"
R_GILL said:Its going to be Halladay, McGowan than Lilly according to the probable pitchers on the Jays website. Makes no sense to me.
NM it's been fixed, its Halladay, McGowan and Burnett now. Or maybe I read it wrong the first time, hopefully the good Burnett shows up.
And don't give up yet, 20 game winning streak coming up. Believe.
R_GILL said:runs slower than Cecil Fielder
Eminem said:Bullshit. Only Konerko is that slow.
R_GILL said:Oh yeah, has Konerko ever been thrown out at first after he hit a line drive to the right fielder.
R_GILL said:Yeah I saw that. Molina should blame himself, he plays shitty defense, runs slower than Cecil Fielder, and can't hit right handed pitching. I don't know what the hell we are going to do next year about our catching. I doubt Speier passes through waivers. Speier is pretty good and I would want to re-sign him anyway. Schoeneweis has been garbage I could care less what we do with him, he has been outpitched by Downs and Tallet.
Dez said:Take a look at our payroll for next year:
1. Burnett $12 mil
2. Glaus $10.5 mil
3. Halladay $12.8 mil
4. Hinske $4.625 mil
5. ghost of Koskie $3.5 mil
6. BJ Ryan $9 mil
7. Vernon Wells III $5.6 mil
8. Josh Towers 2.0 million
That's 60 million tied up in 8 players, two of whom won't be playing with the Jays next year. Lyle Overbay (2.5 mil) and Reed Johnson (1.4) are likely to get significant raises in their salary due to arbitration. So let's say 5 mill between the two of them. So 65 million.. payroll for 2007 is (right now) 75 million. For 10 million - the relatively small contracts of all their young players, the jays need to resign or replace: Justin Speier, Ted Lilly, Bengie Molina, Greg Zaun, Frank Cattalanoto, and also address their needs of another starting pitcher and a SS/2B. Lilly will probably cost 6-8 mill, maybe more, and is probably gone. Speier is useful, but might command big salary that prices him out of Toronto as well. I'm figuring we sign cat and zaun again, and that's about it.
Rotation for next year: Halladay,Burnett,Chacin, Mcgowan/Rosario, Janssen/Marcum
Bullpen: Ryan,Accardo,League,Downs,Tallet,Frasor
Lineup: C: Zaun 1B: Overbay, 2B: Adams, SS: Hill, 3B: Glaus, LF: Johnson, CF: Wells, RF: Rios, DH: Cat
And then sometime in 07 Vernon Wells will be traded, to hopefully add pitching.
Eminem said:Him and Thome both have been in like the last month. Though with Thome, he was forced out at second after Konerko hit a line drive to right.
Eminem said:p.s. why the hell are almost half of the top 10 posters in this thread up so late. I'm drunk, what's your excuse?
siamesedreamer said:Andruw Jones was claimed off waivers by someone.
Its suspected to be either Boston or Los Angeles (AL).
The Braves have 72 hours to work out a trade or pull him back off waivers. But, he wouldn't be able to be traded the rest of the year. He becomes a 10/5 guy this weekend.

Seriously, I almost think you're trying to bait Mets fans. My God, a guy can't go out and expect a cabbie to do his job, nvm the fact that it may be the OTHER GUY'S FAULT? Man alive...
Angelus said:How old is Andrew Jones? Why would they want to trade him if they plan to contend next year? You don't simply replace a guy like that,no way.
siamesedreamer said:Yeah, I hear they have a ton of talent. The only thing is though is that if the guy they want to trade for Andruw is on their 40 man roster, then he can be claimed before he gets back to the Braves.
