While I'm overjoyed AJ hit that walk-off last night, Jenks is scaring me. He's been freakin' nails all season long, and now when we need him the most he gets an MRI and is sucking. Not good. Not good at all.
While that is bad, you do have help from other places.

Morneau for AL MVP
White Sox AL wild card winners confirmed. Morneau career ending knee injury confirmed. :(

Strike 'em out, THROW EM OUT!!!

Grady Little= Clueless. He hits-and-runa with Billy Wagner on the mound vs. Olmedo Saenz, a guy with 42 K's in 170 AB's? wotthehell?

Magic Number= 6

Oh yeah, nothing like hordes of fans tearing up the field with no regard for the safety of others.

Fun stuff!
80's were a different time. Keep in mind Mets clinched wildcard in 2000 at home vs. the Braves and nothing happened. I remember bits of that '86 game against the Cubs even though I was BARELY into baseball then.

Sep 5 Barrett remained in a hospital Sunday and early Monday because of a post-surgery medical procedure to fix bleeding in his scrotum. Barrett, who could miss the rest of the season, was hit in the groin by a foul tip Saturday and had surgery that night.

How about having Maddux walk Beltran before taking him out? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice to see Maddux back to being himself cause that start against the Brewers was ugly.

I wonder if Anibal Sanchez would've given up 8 hits and 4 runs in 6 innings to the Royals?

probably. But then Cla Meredith would have came in and pitched 2 shutout innings in relief and then Hanley Ramirez and Josh Bard would have hit back to back homers in the 8th to give Boston the lead for good. :lol

Trading away good young players for crappy players is just all part of the LONG TERM PLAN.

I really want to think the White Sox are getting hot but I'm not going to jinx anything. We still aren't that good.

p.s. Dye tonight is 3-4 with a homer and 2 RBIs and a single away from the cycle

That Marlins/Phillies game was a good one. Marlins pull it off in extras to bring the Mets magic number down to 5.

I know it's all arbitrary at this point, but it's still fun.

holy shit Ozzie you are a stupid ass. I can't remember you getting booed at The Cell until now

edit: You got lucky. Thank god.

Note to Detroit:
Objects in rear view mirror are closer than they appear

Gawd.......If we had anything resembling a dependable bullpen we'd be at least 5 games up in the WC.

Our offense is real good. The starters are decent. Between our crazy 1 run game differential and our historic injury problems, its just been a year of some really tough breaks. Next year we'll be right back in the thick of things. I have no doubt what-so-ever.

Astros WIN
Marlins win (doesn't really help except...)
Phillies lose (closer to the top of the wild card)
Giants win (doesn't really help except...)
Padres lose (at the top of the wild card)
Reds lose (Astros #2 in the Division now!)
Dodgers lose (Just for the hell of it)

Great day, Lloyd. GREAT day.

I can't believe the Red Sox are about to fall 10 games back of the Yankees. What the hell, guys?

They stink. Not hard to figure out. Underperforming players, injuries, and bad management have all combined to run this team into the ground.

Oh well, football season is here.

I think the blame lies squarely on Tom Brady. When exactly did you switch to that avatar?

They were already in the tank when I switched over. They won three games straight with Lord Brady backing them... but then reverted to their sucking ways.

Not even the holy powers of Tom Brady are strong enough to save the Red Sox.

Another great start by Chacin. Hopefully League and Ryan can hold the lead the rest of the way.

League and Ryan get it done, hopefully both can go tommorrow, I don't want to see shitty pitchers relieving Halladay. I think Speier might be available tommorrow too. Of course the offence first has to provide Halladay with some sort of run support.

Little is absolved of all blame. As the Braves fans well know, Maddux waived the white flag and took himself out after 72 pitches.

Grady felt Saenz had a great AB and felt he would make contact. Repko was pulled aside by Kenny Lofton and told he should've had a bigger lead. Repko said Mariano Duncan (1B coach) told him forget about the lead, it's a H-A-R don't get picked off.

Interesting...

Mets offense totally dies once again when they face a good lefty. They had better fix this otherwise it's going to bite them in the ass in October.

Godamnit enough fat boy. Charlie Steiner when did you turn into such a Dodger Blue cheer leader? Have another beer, scratch your belly, but please calm down with the Dodger adjectives..****.

(edit) Reyes has been juicing again- another homer.
